D Haberdashery was one shop I am pretty sure I haven't set foot into until recently. There is a great eclectic variety of vintage clothing here and other types of merchandise. Mainly dust collectors really but very intriguing all the same. The real human skull in the display window definitely grabs passersby's attention as you go past on the sidewalk. Not sure if that's for sale since it wasn't something I really wanted despite having a taste towards the macabre. Maybe "too real" I guess. She gave us some recommendations for other shops in the area as well. She was just so sweet! I tried on a selection of items, and settled on a vintage red mod dress. It was fairly priced, at about $50, and the dress was in good condition. I packed it in my suitcase, and flew home to the east coast... when I put it on for work for the first time, I felt something stabbing into my hip! I took the dress off, flipping it inside out. I pulled open the side seam allowance, and there was a huge, rusty metal clothes pin in the seam. It stabbed me! I love the dress, but I was disappointed that the shop didn't spot the pin at intake. It could have been dangerous! Overall I have positive feelings about the shop, but if you purchase second hand from here, please be sure to look over your clothing before wearing it. I'd hate for someone else to be stabbed!

We're so quick…read morewith the bad reviews and critiques of service that sometimes we need to take the time to recognize the good stuff. Went in there with something to return that I bought for a wedding almost a year ago, not expecting much but thinking maybe they'd want them back. Brand new, tags still on but of course no receipt! The gal laughed when she asked if I bought them in September and I said yeah, maybe, of 2013!! She said return policy is 30 days but I'll give you in store credit since we don't have any in stock and we need them... I was shocked! When she said the 30 day thing I knew I'd be puttin' 'em up on ebay but then she graciously returned them. Now why can't more employees look out for their customers like that?? We then proceeded to shop in the well organized, clean store. Items were stocked and available with employees on the floor to help if you needed it. Prices are great (we had just come from the Spirit Store) with really cool clearance stuff mixed right in! We're a small town with not many other places to go for this kind of stuff so it's nice that they take the time to train staff in customer service to keep customers happy, not just coming back.

Even some stuff I previously had to mail-order because it was lacking at Joann's or Michael's, here it was much cheaper at Party City. Really worth a visit to be acquainted with their range, to bare in mind for all future reference.
