Sally's Seconds is attached to the Salvation Army next door (get it... "Sally's"?) and is jam-packed with all manner of clothing, toys and bric a brac. Because it's kind of tucked away and unassuming looking, Sally's can often be overlooked by bargain hunters and thrift lovers, but don't make the same mistake! I've found some amazing (and super cheap) stuff in here. On my last visit I scored a brand new kookai top for $5, an amazing retro set of '70s tumblers for $8, a lovely tin with geometric designs for $2 and I was tempted to take home "The Bill" board game for $2 but somehow resisted. Being in Norwood, the stock is generally of high quality and good brands, and I find it's rotated quite quickly as well, so you can come in for a weekly browse and find something new. Right in the middle of Norwood you would think that there would be a bunch of stock and some really good finds. I would say that Norwood is more of the upper-middle class area, so generally thrift stores in these areas have great gear to get your hands on. But, this one is just lacking in a lot of areas. This thrift store is small and separated into three rooms. I could see a large storage area at the back, maybe this is a staff area? Shame they do not use the space to expand the store. There was minimal clothing, books, crockery, etc... The staff also did not welcome me in the store like they do in the other Salvos stores. Such a let down and something that I like about their stores. Good customer services and generally helpful in most of them. Oh well... maybe I caught the staff on a bad day. But, I probably will not be back.

What is great about this store (wait for it boys...) is that you will find an almost equal amount of mens and womens clothing here. I was actually pretty surprised on the mens clothing selection. So awesome! As for pricing, not too bad actually. These are good quality brands. They do not accept any "fast fashion". So that means, no cotton on, valley girl or supre. Phew! This totally reflects on what you will find here. Winning! The staff here are really lovely as well. Not pushy or intrusive. They welcome you and are happy to answer questions. Close encounters of the amusing kind. We wandered into this op shop today because we were driving…read morepast and it had a cool name. When we walked in we were instantly confused: there was a table of ten ladies enjoying a sit down lunch in the middle of the store. We tried to back away but a lovely lady shooed us toward the clothing racks before sitting back down to eat. We browsed the shelves and edged around the diners and tried to ignore the awkwardness. The clothes were genuine op shop rather than vintage, mostly everyday brands but there were a couple of cute items and everything was in very good condition. In the room next door there was children's clothes and loads of the usual brick a brack. As we went to leave a small child blocked the front door, screaming 'No I don't want you to leave, I want you to play with me!' As her mother dragged her off and distracted her with barbie roller skates the girl muttered 'You're not allowed to leave Adelaide.' Probably wouldn't go out there again just for the clothes but we'd never go if we got invited to lunch.

Word of mouth seems to be the way or by driving past, but they would get so much more if they were at least on Facebook, somewhere with a in print presence. Go to there...the clothes are great second hand prices and it has lots of different styles and a kaleidoscope of colours. It advertises that it has a mix of new and old items and clothing and it works... the new does perk up the old in the shop. Not only clothing but also home and gift ware, again a mix of new and old, shoes, bags, pictures, statues, ornaments, the ever present candles, lamps, hats, scarves, jewellery, etc. It's a delightful little shop in an unlikely corner of the world but with a little effort to advertise online, will make a huge difference to its evolution.

It is just an OK store. Occasionally they stock some extra furniture that you wouldn't find elsewhere, but the last time I visited the range was mighty thin. I also didn't find anything new to add to my extensive spy costume collection. Such a shame, I was looking for something that would pass me off for a North Eastern Mongolian Yak Herdsman....I guess the search will have to continue.

This is the…read morelocation of my best ever op shop find in history: silver boots with wooden heels: twenty bucks, brand new space boots from another land, never seen in Adelaide before or after. Those shoes became too worn for me to wear again last month, and I will spent the rest of my God given days searching for another pair. I also found here a yellow jumper with Humphrey B Bear on it: it had all the creepiness and charm of the Television show. Sadly the jumper has gone missing; perhaps Humphrey reclaimed it without my knowing. Do not discount this as just another op shop, oh no. If you have a good eye, and luck on your side, you too may stumble upon magic boots, or similar.

There is a super limited selection of furniture and homewares which I was surprised about as I thought there'd be a stack of old Campbelltown nanna stuff to bag. Staff are friendly and overall if you're in the area this is a peaceful little shop worth perusing for basics, business and a small selection of second hand.

Prices are not super cheap but not unreasonable - good sales make it affordable. Yesterday when I stopped by there was a 50% off sale on and a big sale rack out the front. This store is great fun if you - like me - love the stunningly hideous in fashion. Leopard prints, puffed sleeves, pink zebra sweaters and eighties party frocks in lurid shades.

It's a small shop, but it's organised by size and style so you can navigate the jam-packed racks with ease. The older lady behind the counter is always helpful as well. Prices aren't majorly bargainous, but they often have 50% off everything sales to clear out the old and make space for the new. While I'm generally more of a minimalist, you can find the occasional interesting piece or accessory in here. Definitely worth a look.

If you're looking for a certain book or album, chances are it's here, he just needs to dig through the stock to find it. Come back in a week or so and it'll probably be there waiting for you to pick up. I just can't express how much I love this store. I don't always buy something, but it's a lot of fun wasting an afternoon ploughing through stock just to see what you might find. I always find myself thinking "wow I haven't seen that for years" or "I've never seen that before"
