Probably more in-line with a higher-end Trader Joe's than a typical grocery store. The Ugly: *Located in Downtown Belfast, the parking can always be a little dicey especially during the tourist season. Here are a couple of the fun tips and pointers about this little place: - You can taste test any of the mixed oils/vinegars that you want with little tasting cups and small spickets to pour the taste into it. You can mix grapefruit and sunflower and get a tasty topping for a green salad or throw in some apricot vinegar and then you really can go salad wild. - Once you partake in one of the bottles of dressing/oil you can bring the bottle back in to refil at a discounted price and get your card stamped to earn rewards then they reseal the bottle with a gold foil top. - The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and so welcoming to those that might not know what to do in an oil/vinegar shoppe. My wife and I recommend you totally stop in here to try the goods for your flavor extravaganza!! Really disappointing customer service, to say the least…read more I was a big fan of Dafni products from when I first saw them at the farmer's market in Falmouth, years ago. I loved their oils so much that I tracked them down to their shop (then in Saco). I stopped in whenever I worked in that direction, and sometimes even made a special trip. I was there on one of their last days in the shop, and was sad that I wasn't going to be able to go anymore. Apparently, things have changed. I recently started on the Mediterranean Diet and was looking for a steady supply of olive oil. I remembered Lakonia, and was delighted to see that they are shipping products. I ordered a bottle of EVOO and the drizzling oil samples. Unfortunately, I didn't taste the EVOO before using it (since I had never had an issue with their oils before), and used a good amount to roast veggies for the week. I was ill afterward. When I took a taste of the remainder, I found that it was rancid. I looked closely at the bottle and it said "2016 New Release Harvest." This was 2021. I sent them an email through their customer contact form, asking for a replacement or refund. My experience in the past has been that they were friendly and responsive to their customers. However, this time the response took me by surprise. The first thing they said was that no one else had complained about that batch (how is that relevant to my experience?). Then they said they don't put dates on their labels, and would never send out five-year-old oil. I sent them pictures of the label on the bottle (with the date), and their response was that they're just trying to figure out what happened, and would send me a refund. They asked me to send back the bottle for them to taste, so I did, and shipping it back cost me $8.50. I asked how they would send the refund and the curt reply was "however you paid for it." When I asked when I could expect it, they replied (the next day) "three minutes ago." I couldn't believe how rude the whole interaction was from the time I notified them of my experience. And although I asked them to refund what I paid to ship back the rancid oil so they could taste it, they declined. I went from a huge fan of these products to someone who will never purchase from them again. Hope your experience is better than mine. I'll be buying from Fiore from now on.
