I have put in 5 work orders for the plumbing in this house and the plumbing is still not working properly. The people will say they completed the work order but nobody has been out here.

Blown blower motor

our AC went out Thursday 6/13/24 , maintenance giy Karl came out Friday 6/14/24 replaced blower in furnace and it blew. Told us he would provide a 5,000 btu portable ac. He told us they will come out Monday 6/17/24 but if it gets too hot before then we can call the emergency number for more portable ac or window units. We have tried getting ahold of them and they keep telling us they will get to us asap. There's no emergency for these maintenance "guys". we have a new born and its in the high 90s. I had to buy a window unit to keep us by and it's not enough to keep the baby cool. I hate it here do not rent from these guys. They do not care about you. if I could give a negatife rate I would. If this isn't resolved soon I will be taking this to court.

Property post eviction - it looked like this for six straight months.

Living in a purgatory of a hotel room after relocating to Ohio, we immediately applied for one rental home. There was an urgency that perhaps isn't clear when one says "We're living in a hotel room with a dog and a baby and losing our minds," or "Can you get us moved in this weekend?" There's a lady at the office who cared, but our leasing agent is either overburdened or has a heart black and dead as a crow stuck in hot tar. We applied for one home on a Tuesday. After three days of waiting to hear back, I started to do the leasing agent's job for her by calling the office in charge of applications, emailing documents that were never received, calling another office to schedule a lease signing ASAP. Unfortunately, ASAP meant a whole extra 4 days in a hotel!!! Lease signings don't happen after 4 pm and the office is closed on weekends. That was a huge blow for a family bleeding money for a hotel stay and having no kitchen to cook in. We felt like we were strung along, and uncared for. There should have been a clearer prospective timeline with office closings and inspections communicated earlier, an effort in getting our application through, and a provided time to sign the lease (because a renter shouldn't have to badger anyone to get that). If you have plenty of time, go with Plenkor. If you expressly need to move quickly, don't expect your leasing agent to make any extra calls for you. Do your own follow-ups and scheduling, too.

I have stayed silent all these years but I feel like this would be a good time to share my…read moreexperience. I lived at Hillcrest Apartments on Beechmont Ave. and for a time it was good. At the time Vollmer Investments owned the property. In the years I lived under Vollmer I had no issues. And then it came time for Vollmer to sell the property. At first it was to a company named Sunrise I think. From there it either became or was sold to Penklor. Now, most of us knew that the building was old and they would probably have to do a remo. What we didn't realize was how absolutely ruthless and calculating our new owners were. We all received notices giving us two months to find a new place. Penklor offered us basically the same units we lived in but for nearly double the rent. So I looked for other things. It wasn't more than a week in that Penklor decided that we all needed to go. Faster. Not in the two months. Immediately. The attempted to achieve this by 'smoking' us out. This is a tactic some landlords in NYC will use to try and force tenants out way earlier than the allotted time. It amounts to psychological warfare. At the crack of dawn contractors moved on the unoccupied units. This is while we were still there. So at the crack of dawn we were subjected to power tools and loud country music blaring from speakers in all the units being stripped. The doors to these units were left open creating hazards. Then one day I started to get a little sick. I thought it was a gas leak so I called my utility. Then I left for work. I was shocked to hear a phone call from said utility. They wanted me to come home and talk to them. They said it was extremely important. So I drive home. The worker I meet tells me that my issue is sewer gas. Hydrogen sulfide. When the contractors ripped up the toilets (which he showed me) they made no effort to plug the exposed sewer pipes. We were all being poisoned. It was at this time even contacting Penklor became all but impossible due to a revolving door of ever changing phone numbers. And then Penklor got even more aggressive since we 'didn't get the message' and started turning off our water for hours at a time. When I finally managed to get somebody over the phone the attitude was "Well, why aren't you located to someplace else by now?" Conditions were unlivable. At that point the wonderful, new landlord I found allowed me to move into his building about a month early. To paraphrase all this: Penklor wanted to flip the property. We were nothing to them but unwanted pests to be cleared away for the new tenants. And we were literally treated like pests. And they got away with it because they knew every loophole. It was a well oiled machine that goes in and does what it is going to do and you can do nothing about it. If you got lots of money maybe they'll be much nicer to you. I just know we all didn't and got the whole treatment from Penklor.

Dealing with the main people in the office (Doug and Theresa) is a nightmare. They will scream at you, insult you, threaten you and make you feel as though your right to live in the property that you pay your rent at is non-existent. They will leave their buildings infested with roaches and insects without any attempts to manage them, and tell your personal information to other tenants when they feel fit, leaving the master key to all of the units with a tenant on the property regardless of how many complaints about it the tenants have. They are true slumlords and deserve to have their business shut down. I would give 0 stars if possible. Avoid D&G management at all costs.

The employees of this company are very unprofessional. I applied for an apartment in March 2018…read more After several attempts to contact them regarding the status of my application, they finally contacted me in May 2018 and said that I was approved for the apartment. I then contacted them a few days later to see when I could bring in the deposit but I got no answer to the phone call. Then someone who works for the company reached out to me via text and sit at the apartment building have been sold and told me that I search research/Google the company to get their contact information to see how I can apply with the new owners. I was very upset. I've been asked them do they have any other apartments that I can view it told me that I can view a two bedroom that they have available and we schedule a showing for the following week. On the day of the showing someone who works for the company reached out to me via text and told me that the apartment was not ready to view and that hopefully it will be ready to view next week which was the following week after that. At this point it has been a month and I have heard nothing from them.
