Vinea is so far off the beaten path for your typical tourist of Rome that the chef and owner came out to ask me how I found them. It was about a 20 minute taxi ride from the center of the city in a suburb, but it was worth the drive. The decor reminded me of a cute apartment. The food and service were impeccable. Since no one spoke English except the chef, she ended up being our server, which was pretty awesome.
I opted for the tasting menu so I won't speak to the particular dishes as they will most likely be different than someone else's experience. Each dish was expertly plated with the chef coming to tell us what we were eating. The wine menu was also pretty phenomenal. One of the best dining experiences we had in the city and loved that it lacked the touristy element of the other places I visited in the inner city. read more
