We flew into Indy and had some time to kill while we waited for the rest of our party. We ordered some drinks and apps. The prosciutto and mozzarella was not very fresh tasting. The waitress brought our apps but no plates or silverware. We had to ask for them and she didn't seem to understand why we wanted plates and silverware. Sadly slack service - an embarrassment for Indianapolis, my hometown, that strives to be the best convention and sports city in the country. One poor bartender was working when we arrived at 5 pm, through our departure at 6 pm. One??? Everything took long. Water had to asked for three times. Condiments for my sandwich never arrived, even after a second reminder was provided. I finally had to stand up and act as if I was leaving for the check to hastily arrive, yet it took another 10 minutes for the check and my credit card to be brought back. On the positive, the olives were nice, and the sandwiches were ok - decent food with decent wine. Despite the good, I'm concerned if first-time arrivals to our wonderful city will have a similar service experience, and think we're just like other "conference" cities who are notorious for slack, lazy and lax service. Indy is better than most, and this wine bar / restaurant needs to reflect and behave like it. read more

It's actually pretty nice for an airport bar. It's an island in the middle of the food court/atrium so it doesn't feel like a dungeon. A draft beer is $7 plus tax which is to be expected at the airport. The furniture is nice leather stools and cocktail tables covered with tablecloths. There are also nice seating areas with little end tables. Service was fat and friendly. It could easily pass for an upscale martini bar downtown if it wasn't in an airport. The hummus has a great garlicky taste to it so be sure to ask for the bread without the added butter. It was too strong even for this garlic lover. Riesling was enjoyable, I forgot that I was in an airport until I saw on my bill that my one glass of wine was $13. In the middle of the concourse before security so we always get a chance to sit down and have a chat with our friends or family before they head off to their destination. Service is always spot on and while we've only had drinks here it looks like they also have food. Furniture is comfortable and it isn't too loud so one can have conversation. Understand you are at the airport and prices there are always higher. read more

A small wine bar at the airport. Had potential, but fell way short. A incredibly small selection and terrible service! I sat down and ordered my food and wine at the same time... the wine came out and then the waiting started for the food. 15 minutes... 20 minutes... at the 25 minute point and I hadn't received my appetizer and people who ordered after I did already got their food, I cancelled my food order with the reason why. Nice place to get a drink, pre-security. Vinea is open and in the big atrium, so it's a bit confusing to tell if you go up to the bar and order, or sit down...turns out, you sit down. My gin & tonic was fine, and delivered with a smile. There's only one bartender for all the seats (or at least, there was when I came on a Monday evening) so service can be a tad slow at times. read more

What can I say? I love that when you're flying out or saying goodbye to visitors, you can grab a glass of wine and a bite to eat at this really nice wine bar. Vinea is probably my favorite part of the airport... and a great way to kill time before your flight. The bartenders are friendly, but give you your space and do not try to have conversation with you unless you want (which I prefer - I want to just sit with my wine in peace)... as Jasen says the selection leaves something to be desired, and the prices I find to be on the high side, but it is an airport bar and one of the few choices. It is spread out... has outlets (big score) and you can bring in any type of food. read more

I happen to be in Indy airport tonight and Cubs game was on so headed over to VINEA and asked if I could watch , the young lady on duty said yes so i sat down , apparently another couple wanted to see the Voice so she proceeded to change the screen and audio off the game and was really rude when I asked if she can turn on one of the other six TV's she then told me that I shouldn't be here if I wasn't a paying customer and go out into the common area where the other none paying customers were . Was looking forward to some food and drinks with a few hours to kill before my flight & this place looked relaxing. Instead, after waiting 45 mins for any sort of response from waitress I went to Indy 500 Grill for a burger. 30 mins of that wait was simply gambling when the two waitresses would stop talking to one another and serve either myself or the table to the left of me who had been waiting even longer & playing chicken too). It was only 33% full with two waitresses both of which I caught the eye of to no avail. Better off at Indy 500 Grill - at least you get served! read more

I came here to thank our bartender and cook for treating us so well after a rough experience traveling this past weekend due to inclement weather. My husband and I usually stop here for a glass of wine when we pick our daughter up, as she travels abroad quarterly for work. I must say- I'm happy I read these reviews first! Firstly, it's apparels fly not too common for folks to come here to compliment! Rather to complain. Well, my husband John and myself were the couple that was watching "the voice" that night back in October. It was an epidose I didn't want to miss! We were paying customers that also tipped, (rather well I might add). So our bartender had no issue putting the show on the tv for us. She also left the Cubs came on, and I remember the man coming in, not buying anything, then becoming very loud, rude and obnoxious when the bartender politely explained that she couldn't put the volume on for more than one show. He was asked to leave only after he was rude, and was not buying anything anyway. A piece of advice, from a Momma bear who had two children work in restaurants to help put themselves through school- if you're going to be a jerk, stay home. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. The customer (non paying in this case) is not always right!
