Such a great find and some really cool stuff here. Their books are well priced and not too…read moreexpensive and on Fridays the kids can also get a free book $.50 or less. There is a cool little reading nook that I really appreciate it and they have a good furniture selection as well as plenty of shelves to see all the different glassware and things like that. All things considered the stores pretty well organized and I will definitely be going back here again soon if I can. Their books are SO ORGANIZED. Love this spot.

I had some time to kill between baseball games and the cashier at MRCI thrift store recommended…read morethis one. It was not on yelp but I googled it. Nice parking lot. I found some treasures. I found an antique melamine plastic bowl like Texas Ware bowls. I already have a bunch but not that color. It was $14. Similar pricing to an antique store but helps the charity. Also found a dog toy behind the glass. It looks like my dog for $2.50. Also a Minnesota State Mavericks t shirt for $1.75, a picture frame and wiffle balls for 50 cents which got played with at the hotel. Service was nice, prices reasonable, and store was clean. Recommend shopping here for your next treasure.

If you're on the way to the cities, you may consider stopping at the Goodwill in Mankato Minnesota,…read moreI would suggest against it. It's a waste of a 12 detour and a possible wait if you have to stall until they open the doors at 11 on a Sunday. The store is large, clean, but things are marked up, a basic pillow is five dollars, a pair of no bull shoes are 25, their housewares, kitchen, bathroom, toys, vases, etc. Are all majorly lacking. This store seems to be made up of 30% cheaply purchased Temu items to jack the price up and sell at a surplus. Women's high heels, sneakers, jeans, tops, sweaters, etc. there are plenty of, but you can find that literally anywhere. A lot of people I know go for the interesting fun items they can find on the side. This place has literally none of that. Do I recommend this store? No. Do I recommend taking the time out of your schedule to come here? Also no. Also, came at opening... old folks chill out and let them open the store before trying to pile up at the door.

This store is very close to the mall if antiques are not your thing or if you want more shopping afterwards. The store is filled with a wide variety of both old (antique and vintage) and some new merchandise. One of the ladies working there helpfully told me which jewelery cases were vintage and which were new. Last Christmas I bought a silk men's tie for $4. I did manage to restrain myself from buying a bunch of items this year, but for those from a larger town or metro small town antique shops like this are a good deal.

I have to - reluctantly - call this place out as being pretty lame…read more After exploring the only antique store in town, I decided to checkout a couple of thrift stores. I went to the Riverside Thrift Shop today. Apparently, it opened only a few months ago. Being fresh and new, by all rights, they should be totally on top of their game. 1) The main problem is it's too darn small. It's little more than one small narrow room. (I think my living room at home is bigger than this store!) As a result, there isn't much inventory...mostly garage sale type stuff...not enough to pick through and find something you might like. There's a HUGE warehouse in back of this building. If THAT was part of the store and filled with stuff too, you'd really have something great. But that's not the case. 2) The dude running the shop ignored us, never smiled, never spoke, and he was completely devoid of any customer service skills whatsoever. Not cool. This definitely sealed the deal and made me not want to ever walk through the door again. There always seems to be at least one crazy person shopping at every thrift store I go to, even a super small one like Riverside. Indeed, I came across one. There was a wild eyed lady buying a dozen ceramic ducks. Despite the sparse inventory, this woman had managed to locate every duck on the premises. She had a whole flock of ducks spread out on the counter. Pretty funny. Not worth the stop. -Daddy Maxx Retro
