His prices are reasonable and he always has great pieces in stock. I saw another reviewer complain about there not always being prices and the clothes piles he keeps in the front/back of the shop. I thought this was funny because it's my favorite part about this place! The owner is super fair with his pricing and gives a discount if you're buying more than one item. I also love sitting there and going through the pile of clothes before he's had the chance to price everything and hang it up for everyone to see. I have gotten some of my favorite vintage finds from the piles and paid about half, if not less, than I would at any other shop in town. Thank you for doing what you do!

As I was opening the door, though, I happened to notice the "Closed" sign was still on. As I stepped in, I waved at someone in the back, hoping to ask if they were open yet. That guy pretended not to see me. Someone else back there said to him "I LOVE how they still come in, even when the sign says CLOSED." :O I turned right back out the door, and plan on never going back. Bedding from quilts to sheets. Pillows throw pillows knitted blankets. She also has a variation of kitchen appliances, kitchen utensils all the way to ice skates baskets, figurines. In the back is where she keeps her furniture. The furniture can be anywhere from nowaday to antique just depending on what she has in the shop at the time. She also has bed mattresses headboards footboards lamps pictures and picture frames. I myself the shop there because you never know what she's going to have in her shop. It's always a surprise to see something that you haven't seen in years, say that old kitchen utensil that they don't make anymore that you loved to cook with, bam there it is on her shelf. I love pulling up to see all of the craft projects that range in such a variation from something that you would put in a farm home to in your brand new house that you were just looking for that one piece. That mouth drop piece that you have to have. So no Jan's is not a thrift store. There is a cool little reading nook that I really appreciate it and they have a good furniture selection as well as plenty of shelves to see all the different glassware and things like that. If I were to come back to the twin cities, I would be sure to stop into the Cat and the Cobra! Locating the store was a little harder than anticipated. It is in the back of the parking lot behind the locked door, but it is the first door inside the building. Not to mention the cool vibes and architecture of the building. I highly recommend walking around and checking it out. There was an amazing selection of any article of clothing you were looking for. I would say the majority of the items were typically priced. Some articles hanging were a little overpriced, but the best part was the bins in the back of the store! I found two shirts in the bins that were $5 each! It was a STEAL of a deal for vintage t-shirts in the condition they were in. I got one ESPN shirt and a Strigus 2006 shirt. Not to mention how fun it is to shift through bins to find those hidden gems of shirts. In addition to a more expensive rainforest cafe t-shirt that was hanging on the walls of shirts. Overall, the service, selection, and value of the store and its articles were top-tier for vintage thrift! I highly recommend stopping in!

There was a bin in the back that was lower cost but it was mostly sweaters and shirts that weren't my style and not what I need at the moment. Nothing to bring me back here honestly but there are certain types of people that would love this. Prices seemed steep but it's vintage and they can get away with it.
