They have a "Top Golf'ish" like touch screen monitor at all the bays at the driving range which is pretty cool, so whether warming up or just going for the range it's a nice feature that I'm sure cost a pretty penny for the owner. I've now played there 5-6 times and the course itself is challenging, greens have ran true....which is most important to me. The only recommendation I could give to the owner would be to do some leveling on the white tee boxes.

The club house and pro shop were nice too, although the young lady that works in the pro shop didn't even say hello to me; just "do you have a tee time?" Not even a smile. meh. The cart attendants were friendly and eager to please (considering they receive tips), but they did make us open our coolers and told us we couldn't bring our outside alcohol on. (Not a big deal, we didn't know the course policy.) There are two knocks on White Clay Creek: 1) the same knock that affects about 90% of the golf courses out there....it's expensive. A mid morning tee time will run you over $100. We STARTED at 4pm, and it was $50 a person. It's a nice course, but sheesh. And 2) the REAL knock on WCC, IT IS HUGE! The course is friggin enormous. You will literally ride for like 3-4 minutes in-between holes. That's RIDE on the cart. I can even begin to imagine what you have to do if you're walking this monstrosity. It was either between holes 2 and 3, or 3 and 4 where it was like The Oregon Trail of a trek through the woods. A few holes, you would tee off, then have to drive BACK the way you came, go over a bridge, under a tunnel etc, to get to your next shot. We were cart path only too, so our round took FOREVER. Realizing we were losing daylight, we just played best ball on the entire back 9, and our round STILL took over 5 hours. Another side effect of the course being so big is that because there is so much distance/time between shots, you lose a TON of balls here. We lost SO many balls on shots that were literally straight down the fairway, and may have rolled into the second cut or over a hill or something. I get losing balls on slices and shanks, but it was ridiculous. The carts were very nice, with GPS, and digital score cards, and the cart girl had a decent selection with OKAY prices ($7 a beer....meh). A nice course, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. It's the kind of place that I've love to be a member of, but to just play a round of golf, there are better, and cheaper options.

He was patient because out of the 8 of us only 2 play golf and he had his work cut out for him:) I love the way he broke down each step in to simple abc's. He modeled and then watched our strokes making corrections along the way. He taught us with several different clubs with helpful pointers about stance, keeping your left eye on the ball, and following through with your stroke. I have a new respect for golf. David told us to stretch before we came and I now understand why. You're engaging your arms, core, and buttocks. I was feeling muscles I haven't felt for a minute:) The actual golf course is beautiful as far as my eyes could see. We didn't play the actual course,but did go on the greens to practice putting. The club house has a snack area with indoor and patio seating. You can snacks as well as hot food and beverages. Also in the clubhouse is a golf store where you can purchase some golfing essentials.

Around the greens is where it becomes more challenging. On this day it was pin position #1 and wasn't fun. Most of the pins were in the most difficult positions and many it was impossible to get the ball close. I was even told to email Brandon Karpinski who is "the head of golf" about this and that he would take care of it and he never even had the curtesy to email me back. This course and service is an absolute joke and no one should give these people a dime of their money. Additionally, I would suggest not charging people up front if your refund policy is this abysmal.

Wildwood golf and country club is a really nice option to play a classically designed course while…read morevisiting the shore. This little Donald Ross Design has a really nice practice facility including a full length range, short game area to practice your 120 yard wedge game and in and also a chipping green complete with bunkers. Upon walking through the clubhouse and out to the first tee you're greeted by a very helpful staff and a nicely stocked pro shop. The first tee really sets you up with what you'll see while out there for your round. A well maintained tee with tree lined and well defined fairways and the requirement tom move the ball off the tee one way or another. Slightly errant shots easily get you into tree trouble and very errant shots will find lots of trouble. One of the things I don't like here is the use of out of bounds within the property. I understand from a safety point of view why this is done but a hole like the par 5 12th having OB in the left trees (which plays adjacent to the 11th hole) and OB in the right trees makes this hole just dumb. It's already the narrowest driving hole on the course and that OB just makes it even more ridiculous. On top of this issue, getting home in 2 is not really an option because of a strategically placed tree that prevents a quality look into the green. Realistically you need to play this hole 200-225 off the tee, 190-210 for your second and 100 in to have any real chance to score. Leave the driver in the bag. The greens here at Wildwood are superb. Rolling fast and true they are a real treat to play and putt especially if you have any experience with Donald Ross greens, you'll really like them ALOT! Unfortunately for me my day did not include dining at the club so I can't speak for the food or service of the restaurant stuff but the outdoor patio overlooking the practice putting green in the short game area with a nice little view of the first tee does seem like a very nice place to get lunch after your round or come out for a relaxing bite to eat. Wildwood is a really nice golfing experience with fantastic greens and some quirky tee shots. A little course knowledge is a must to score and patience on the greens is a virtue, but that 12th hole is a drag and some of the hidden hazards that can gobble up a seemingly quality tee shot can upset an otherwise good day of golf and beware of the windy days!
