Inside, we like to hit the small arcade for games old and new, from the multi-cade with Pac-Man to the newer like Halo Fireteam Raven. Vince's is no Chuck E Cheese but you can still have a good time with young children. Although the PlayPark was shut down, (there's a warning about renovations on their website) my 3 year nephew and I were still able to make the most of our visit. He stuck to what was within reach, by riding the 1-token fire truck and motorcycle in front of the PlayPark, playing skeeball, and trying out the NERF Arcade shooting game. While I enjoyed the TMNT 4-player arcade game and shooting basketballs at the NBA hoops. We won most of our tickets from skeeball, NERF Arcade, and NBA hoops. *BE MINDFUL that not all of the arcade games disperse tickets so you know what you are paying and playing for.* We didn't win enough tickets to redeem anything that we liked. Now onto the food: you have to buy an entire personal pizza instead of a slice. Not a bad thing because it can easily be split between two people or devoured by a very hungry person. The pizza is solid. Much better than I anticipated. It has a homemade taste to it, much like those homemade English muffin pizzas that one can make at home. The candy bars are about $1.25 a piece. We also tried the MiniMelts ice cream vending machine. I didn't like the cotton candy flavor but my nephew ate every bite! We'll be returning! read more

This place has been open for 40 years. Been coming here for 30. Food prices are great as are the rates for mini Golf, batting cages and arcade. Did not check prices for the 9 Hole course. Great family time and a very attentive staff, very clean place also. read more

The food was somehow edible, the bathroom looked one to one as a scene from a horror movie, no toilet paper, they served me cardboard with ketchup instead of pizza, and the only good thing was the duck claw machine. read more

I've been coming here since I was a little girl and I always have an amazing time with my family!! I took my little sister here today, she played a ton of games and got a good amount of tickets, the space was clean, and the staff was super friendly and speedy with food service on the water ice and hot dog. We checked out this place today for the first time and had a blast! We mostly played arcade games and did several rounds at the batting cages. It was too chilly for us to do mini golf or par 3 but we definitely plan to come back another time. Everyone working was really friendly and we felt the cost was very affordable. Fun place to visit! I've only been here on Saturday mornings, but they have had good cage availability. Slow/Fast, softball/baseball. Like any coin-operated machine, it may not register a token you feed it, but this has only happened to me once in a couple of visits. Each cycle (about 12 pitches) costs 3 tokens. You can get 45 tokens for $10 at their current rates. Occasionally a pitch fails, but this is typical at batting cages. Bring your own gear if you prefer. Both aluminum and wood bats are allowed. Otherwise you can use their gear at no extra charge. They will ask to hold your ID during your time there if you do use their bats. Dress as if it were 20 degrees warmer if you are using the cages! It can get very hot. Air hockey, foosball, and various other arcade games are available as well. It is an older facility, but houses a lot of fun! read more

A great place to blow through $50 or more in less than an hour. Most machines are outdated, most need some sort of repair or maintenance. More than once we had to get an employee give us refunds. They really need to bring back some 80's arcade classics like Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Galaga, Joust, Frogger, etc..... machines that are refurbished of course. This review is going to only be on the par 3 golf course, since thats the only thing I experienced when I went there. I'm really torn about this place, because on one hand, my friends and I had a lot of fun, being able to be absolutely terrible at golf without disapproving looks and pretentious douches scoffing at our lack of skill. We were pretty much given free reign of the course, and were able to move at our own pace without any pressure from other players or course officials. The trade off was that the course was, and I mean this with no exaggeration, ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE. I don't know if it was because its VERY early in the season or what, but the course was embarrassingly bad. My friend remarked, succinctly, that "we could've went to our local park and done this for free." The fairways were horribly kept, absolutely overrun with goose shit and covered in leaves and sticky burrs. The greens were even worse. They were lumpy, dirty, covered with dead spots and rough patches. I would have a ball rolling straight to the cup that would hit a patch of dead brown grass and get sent 6 inches off to the side. It was extremely frustrating. I understand that the course is a cheap, small, bang bang course specifically designed for noobs and terrible payers such as myself, but I don't see how you can get better playing on such a terrible course. I think a course like this should be just as much a place to learn how to play the game, as a place to learn the game itself. Rules, ettiquette, etc. Theres no rakes for the sand traps, no ball washers, etc, etc. I brought my ball mark repair tool and realized after hole 1 that I absolutely wouldn't be needing it. I WANT to go back and play because the ATMOSPHERE is fantastic and you can be free to not be good at golf but I cant justify going back and paying to play on a course that is SO lazily and deplorably kept. For $12 you get to go around twice, which is a fantastic price, but even at that price, its not worth it based on how the course looks, right now. I don't know if it'll get better as the season goes on, but as of March 5th, its just better to find somewhere else. read more

We only played miniature golf. Which was reasonably priced. There were two 13 hole courses. You can play one or both. The obstacles varied which made the course fun. There were nice statues decorating the yard. The miniature golf area was shaded and kept us out of the sun, cooler, and happy. We had a fun time! read more

I had forgotten all about this place and rediscovered it today. I went for the toddler play. Love that it's in the Bear-Newark area. The prices are great. I took my twin almost 3 year olds and they had a ball playing on (ball pit, slide, mini ride). It's a blend between new school and old school. Some of the games are old and some are new. Someone left us with a bunch of tickets and the twins got little prizes to bring home. Thank you, we will be back. We went to Vince's to play mini golf as a small way to celebrate a wedding anniversary. We arrived at 7:55 and went to pay for a round of mini golf, when talking to the sales clerk he said he would not allow us to play because they stop selling golf an hour before close. There was no one there except one family already in progress with a mini golf game. If we had come 15 minutes earlier would they have allowed us to play. With three or more employees on the clock they could have allowed us to play, given us a time frame to come back in by, and been more accepting of business. Instead of getting business the employee wanted to ensure he would be leaving on time. We will not be returning because there was ample time to play a game with such a short course and the poor customer service. read more

This place has been around for as long as I can remember! Really cool facility on rt. 4 in Newark. Pros: Multiple speeds of batting cages for baseball and softball. For 3 tokens ($0.75), you usually get 12 to 15 pitches (I lose count when I go). Good pizza Friendly staff Many arcade games, as well as skee-ball, putt-putt golf, regular golf They have bats to use if you don't have one (you usually just need to give them your keys) Batting facility is indoors, so it's perfect all year round. Cons: Occasionally the pitching machines will throw a few balls in a row that are way off & go to the side or hit the ground way before they get near the plate. Seems to happen more later in the evening for some reason. The helmets they have available are VERY used - so, you may want to wear a bandana or a cap underneath the helmet if you use one...or bring your own. read more

The place is downright outdated. I went in with my boyfriend, thinking of maybe trying it out. We had passed it a couple of times, and thought of it as something to do when theres nothing else to do. When we arrived, it was pretty empty and my first impression was that it looked dingy. The floors aren't clean and they look like they were once white, but they turned into an almost brownish color. We went to try to get coins from the coin machine, and there was a sign that said "Get your coins at the register." Unfortunately, the people at the register were having their own lovely conversation, and were a bit too distracted. We got our coins and proceeded to some of the games. About 20 minutes into playing, we decided to go get food... evidently there is a $5 minimum for all orders paid by card... But not really? Because I asked for "something I forgot" a second after he swiped my card and he said "oh its fine." They didn't have pizza because they "just turned off the oven" and wouldn't make fries because they "just turned off they fryer" and the ice cream came in a tiny bowl and costs almost $4. It didn't taste good. At all. And in all seriousness, about 20% of their games work. The other 80% either eat your coins, don't register your movement when you try to play, or they are just ... so crappy they aren't worth anything. I think this place needs a huge renovation. They need to renovate everything, including the little kids' "play pen" thing they have going on... its dark and scary looking. And don't even get me started on the rewards for tickets. Everything there can be purchased for a dollar. This place is messy, unprofessional, and old. I don't know about the batting cages or golf, but everything else is not worth money at all. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. I'm 34 and other than a few games, its exactly the same it was when I was a kid---PERFECT. How many batting cages around have a room that big? One of the greatest feelings to me is smashing a ball into the back wall, almost a sense of pride. The kids (12,11,9) had SO MUCH FUN! All the games worked & the staff was incredibly friendly. The kids loved the physical tokens & receiving the physical tickets vs using "game cards" at other establishments.
