Vincent's is one of the more popular and well-stocked of the many charity shops in Rathmines. The shop raises money for the St Vincent de Paul, who are one of the most established and respected charities working for the poor in Ireland.
There's rails and rails of ladies, mens and childrens clothes, a special rack for sizes 18+, and two shelves full of shoes of all shapes, sizes and styles. Handbags and schoolbags hang from various hooks around the shop, and there's an interesting selection of homewares down the back where you can pick up a set of antique cutlery, or a brand new coffee plunger still in the box for a fiver.
They have recently shelved their Christmas stock, including boxes of greeting cards whose profits are donated to the charity.
Apparently there are volunteers from nine different countries working here at the moment, a heartening fact in itself. read more
