Whether it's Valentine's, St Patrick's Day, Christmas or Halloween, they will decorate accordingly in a most appealing way. Inside it can get a little cluttered as it always seems to be busy, but if you root around enough you're bound to find a bargain. I've bought vintage Levis in there for around a fiver and I'm always buying books, which are usually around €1. On the down side, I know it's for charity but sometimes the staff have a tendency to overprice certain items. For example you might see a top from Penney's that you know was originally about €4, which is now selling second hand for about €7! And I've come across really battered leather jackets for €30 - that's just way too much! The erratic pricing system doesn't stop me going in there all the time though.

Great, ornate window displays and a plethora of books, Enable is the diamond in the rough of the George/Aungier street charity shops. They're fantastic because not only are they color-coordinated, but they give some really amazing ideas of the kind of fashionable ensembles that you can put together from items at a charity shop. That, my friends, is an art. The fact that every Enable Ireland window looks so great makes me think they might have a full-time creative director on their side. Kudos to this genius, whoever they may be. Anyway, inside the merchandise isn't quite as impressive, but given the window's dose of inspiration it's not terribly difficult to find something that'll do. They sell clothes for men, women and children and all of the prices are fantastic. Oh and they have a really awesome selection of books that are sooo cheap. I couldn't believe some of the finds there, and am currently building a library purely from Enable Ireland!

I have never bought anything in this store as the few things I did find (well actually it was my boyfriend who found it for me) were to small. TGS definitely had the most diverse offering on display, with clothes and books kept to the front, furniture and handbags on the next level up, and childrens toys (some of which were still in the box) at the very back. As always the prices were encouraging -most of the childrens' goods were about €1, while skirts and trousers came in around the €5 / €10 mark.
