Exceedingly rarely does a flavoured pie deliver upon the promise of it's name.
Oh sure, curry pies generally do, but beef, tomato and onion pies? Psht. Almost never. Vina Bakehouse done gone got their shit shorted though: the entire top layer of their delicious soft-pastried gravy boat is inlaid with large, sumptuous slices of tomato and thick onion rings that are mild in flavour and have that great soft-crunch texture, not too hard and not too soft. Seriously, now I know what that little Goldilocks brat was banging on about. And at $4.50 a pop, one does simply not put baby in the corner (I stole that line from Den B's Emperor Puffs review.
