UPDATE 6/2026: I'm sad to say my opinion of this gym has really gone down since my original review. Sheree's Pilates, yoga, Yogalates, and barre classes continue to be challenging and effective. I've been her student for over two years now, and the difference in my abs and strength is amazing. That we can study with a professional ballet dancer for the price of a gym membership cannot be overstated, and to be honest, she is the only reason I'm still going to this gym. The turnover in trainers is ridiculous because they do not treat their staff well. I am a professional educator and understand people management, and what I see as an outsider corroborates what different former crew and former trainers have told me. Not one of the original staff from when I started is still there. Also, all the trainers that impressed me as a powerlifter and bodybuilder and gave me effective and challenging workouts are now gone. I don't want to have to keep starting over with a new trainer every few months, so I've canceled my training package. Finally, the turf area is kind of a joke. They still only have up to 40# KBs that I can see. They replaced the sled with this rolling thing that I never see anyone use because it "is easier for a lot of clients." Who goes to the gym to do easy things? I'm giving this review 3 starts because of Sheree Skiles and the fact that the pool is clean and I enjoy using it. I am disappointed to say the least. If you are serious about lifting, and fitness, I'd have to say look elsewhere. read more

0 stars. I don't Recommend attending this gym. The staff here are liars just to up sale their memberships they will tell you the cheapest one is $40. Then you'll get billed with an annual fee, buy out fee additionally they rush you while you are signing and don't explain the full contract. Lastly the parking is terrible and good luck finding a machine. read more

This gym is amazing. My husband and I joined at the beginning of 2025. We have never really been gym people, but we decided that we wanted to start going to a gym. Stopped by one night and asked for all the information that we could get. We immediately felt comfortable with the environment of this gym. All the employees are nice and helpful with whatever you need. We ended up signing up for the top membership which included all machines and weights, classes that you just have to sign up for at no extra cost. The locker rooms are clean and offer a cold plunge, sauna and steam room. They have a heated lap pool and pickle ball court as well. The top membership also includes tanning, red light therapy and hydro massage. We also have a personal trainer we see once a week. Her name is Rae and she is amazing. She asks what our goals were and answers any questions we have. She is very personable and makes your workouts a fun experience. I would definitely recommend her. The only thing that is kinda bad is the parking. Since it is in a very busy shopping center it can be a pain to find parking. But it's completely worth it. read more

If you go to the gym after 9pm don't plan on using the sauna because they turn it off and it smells HORRIFIC due to the low heat that is indicated on the thermometer inside of the sauna. I've told management and staff SEVERAL TIMES and the staff is aware but I guess management doesn't care. People are going to EOS as a result. read more

What an impressive transformation! Formerly the Canyon Crest Towne Center Athletic Club, Vim + Vigor is completely renovated and offers a fantastic multi-story layout. The space is expansive and thoughtfully designed, with dedicated areas for free weights, machines, weightlifting equipment, and cardio. The service was super friendly, and the gym has a great vibe, primarily attracting a younger crowd. Everyone followed good gym etiquette--wiping down equipment and being considerate of others. I visited for three consecutive days as a trial member and was thoroughly impressed. This is a standout local gym that definitely gives LA Fitness and other big names a run for their money. I really enjoyed my experience at Vim + Vigor Gym until I had to deal with a billing and customer service issue that took over a month to resolve. On April 6, I noticed I was charged twice by the gym. I immediately contacted the gym and was told only a manager could help me. After waiting several days with no response, I contacted them again and was finally provided with a manager's email. The manager, Abigail, told me I needed to contact their billing company because they only showed one charge on their end. After speaking with the billing company, they discovered I had two active accounts with the gym, despite the fact that I had only signed up once. I requested the duplicate account be canceled and refunded, but the billing company told me the gym itself had to process the refund. I contacted the gym again and spoke with Abigail, who said she could not see the duplicate account and needed to contact the billing company herself. A week went by with no update until I reached out again. Abigail then stated she found the duplicate account, canceled it, and issued the refund. Two more weeks passed and I still had not received anything. Once again, I had to contact the gym myself for another update, and once again I was told Abigail needed to contact the billing company and would call me back. Another week passed with no communication. When I contacted the gym yet again, I then discovered that my actual active membership had somehow been canceled as well. At that point, I requested to speak with someone above Abigail because the situation had become extremely frustrating and unprofessional. No one at the gym would provide me with supervisor or ownership information. Instead, they gave me an email address for complaints -- the same email I had already used previously, which Abigail herself responded to. I was assured that if I submitted a complaint about Abigail, someone else would contact me, but that was not true. Abigail still ended up being the one who reached out. Eventually, the refund was finally issued and my annual fee was refunded as well. I appreciate that Abigail did ultimately work toward fixing the issue, but it should never take over a month to resolve a simple $40 duplicate charge. What disappointed me most was the lack of communication, accountability, and transparency from management. I loved the gym itself, the environment, and the workouts, but poor leadership and customer service can completely ruin an otherwise great experience. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened here. read more

I'm trying really hard to like this gym. Great equipment, pretty clean, not too crowded. But this is the third time in the last week where it is not open at 4 AM as it is supposed to be, and there are at least 20 people just waiting around outside. I just left and it is 4:45 AM with still no sign of anyone. I hope management fixes this and reimburses everybody's dues for the past month since it's a matter of waking up early, wasting our time to get here and back home, and just an overall disappointment. read more

After a recent injury, I'm all about getting back into shape, and I was on the hunt for a solid place to support my recovery. Vim and Vigor in Canyon Crest stood out. For me, the 40-degree cold plunge was a big draw. For the price I pay, having access to brand new equipment makes this place totally worth it. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. I wish they were open a little later, but I make it work. This spot is located in Canyon Crest (right across from Dr. Merrihew's Canyon Crest Dental). This is a good spot whether you're bouncing back like me or leveling up your fitness game! read more

The nicest and newest gym in Riverside. Perfect layout with separate sections appropriate for different parts of the body. The lap pool is a great amenity in addition to the sauna and steam room. I was going to change my review since the customer service definitely improved, but now there's new issues. I always thought it was weird that small latch windows weren't installed in case rooms such as the cycle room or studio room needed to be "aired out" or at least install vents leading outside. This is an issue for the second floor. It gets quite musty and needs proper ventilation. As a poor solution, I think instructors were told that they can leave the door open for ventilation. But now it's created a new issue that subjects patrons to listen to awfully loud music at 5am. The cycling instructor now leaves the door open, and you can hear the music as soon as you walk into the facility. This creates a problem where I can't enjoy my workout, and although I have noise cancelling headphones, it's VERY LOUD. Hopefully management is able to find a solution that can solve both issues. It's too loud now in the gym, and they need proper ventilation such as the cycling room. That way, they can close the door again and not disrupt other people. read more

The gym is in a great location away from everything else. Gym has decent equipment but these days the biggest plus for a gym is time availability. Unfortunately this gym is not open 24 hours which would be a big plus for this area. The gym is making an effort to get newer equipment. They do have sings around the gym about respecting people privacy and use of phones for pictures but unfortunately it's not enforced. read more

Vim + Vigor Fitness, you are great to me. I have been to your San Jose location and the brass machines are luxurious. Once I came back to SoCal, I was so happy to see a location near me. The cleanliness and maintenance of the gym is one of the best I've seen and the friendliness of this staff is always consistent. But during warmer days, the second floor tends to collect hot air, so if you need extremely cold air, I would check out other gyms. Also, very few times, but when I come later in the day, I find that plates get moved around more. As long as this gym is near me, I don't plan on moving gyms :) read more

I've been at this gym for almost a year. Pros: Friendly staff Pretty good equipment Cons: The water is CONSTANTLY down. It's happened at least 3-4 times in the span of last year. I understand things happen but I work 45 minutes away and plan my day assuming I will be able to shower at the gym. It's a pain to get there and realize I can't shower and have to cut my workout short to return home. It would be VERY helpful if we could at least see in the app if the water is not available. The self locking lockers are constantly locked. I know it's the gym goers who may accidentally lock it upon leaving but it's really annoying having to switch my stuff from 4 different lockers until I find one that is not locked. This is not one of the cheaper gyms out there, I would at the very least hope for little things like this to be addressed. Not a problem for me but it's definitely not an open layout, if you're looking for a wide open gym, this is really not it. You have to walk upstairs for quite a few things. Other than those two points above I really enjoy it. read more

When my wife and I signed up last November, she purchased a month (12 sessions) of personal training for my birthday. On December 30, I noticed a charge of $888 on my bank account. I went to the gym that day, and I was told by a trainer (AD) that I should have canceled the training on December 29, and that she would talk to the company about a refund. She also printed out a personal training contract that I had not seen or received before, and this contract had a specific entry about personal training cancellation. I got a call a week later, and I was told that "sorry, there is nothing we can do about it". We were very specific at sign-up that the personal training purchase was for one month only, and we were not informed then, or at the end of the month, that it would automatically become recurring. I did not have that kind of money, and I feel that I got ripped off by not being informed. read more

Been working out here for a year now and it's a great place. Staff is always friendly calls me by name and knows my preferences for towels, red light and tanning booths. They all greet me and equipment is always clean. The extras like tan, red light, cold plunge, sauna, steam room all have others beat. I especially enjoy Kaylee, Tyler and Isela, they are especially helpful kind and attentive. They have made this a special place to come and do the hard work everyday. My family members joined and so I reluctantly decided to try it out. Reluctantly because, as a former fitness instructor, it felt like going to work. Long story short, I took Zumba on Th/7:00 pm and Step on Tues 7:00 pm and both classes were a blast! Everyone from the front desk to the instructors and even fellow classmates were friendly. Tried to cancel my membership, they told me I would get charged one more month and then it would be canceled. 45 days later I was still getting charged and they tacked on an annual fee for the next year. The equipment is fine but I got "ripped off" by Vim &Vigor. Signed up with a personal trainer and had about 6 half hour sessions. After the trainer quit unexpectedly, I subsequently discovered that I was billed on my credit card for 22 half hour sessions that I never took. Spoke to the Manager, but Vim & Vigor would not refund my money. They charged me for services that were not provided. This is fraud! read more

This has been my home gym for about a year now I love it but recently the Sauna hasn't been working right, if you into the sauna pasted 9:30 it's no longer on and really puts a bummer on the whole experience. Honestly used to love this gym primarily due to the amenities offered. However, in the last few months it seems like 9/10 of them are either out of service or "under repair" that takes weeks to come. The women's locker room has had 2/3 restroom stalls out of order for the past week along with the sauna that is out of order and the steam room that is not on 9/10 times. Love this gym, but the lack of urgency to fix facilities is very disappointing considering we're paying for it monthly. read more

Horrible gym. Weights are out dated ! When I stopped going I was tied into a yr contract and then when I tried to cancel they charged another year of annual fees. When I tried to talk to a manager she could not help with anything. Every option she gave me wasn't really wasnt an option. Not the type of gym you want to sign up for. Not worth it. Go to a gym that won't charge $100's of dollars to try to make u stay. read more

I've been coming to Vim & Vigor since it opened. I used to come when it was still the Canyon Crest Athletic club and I have to say what they have done with this building is very well done. There is cleaning staff working in there all day every day. I have never seen a machine out of order. The staff is super friendly, Aaron is ALWAYS smiling and ready to help. He has provided some of the best customer service I've ever experienced, especially in a gym. The gym also has tanning, red light therapy, a cold plunge, steam room AND sauna. V and V dominates. The staff are very polite and helpful. The equipment (most importantly) is new and complete: it includes not only old staples (lots of dumbbells and that kind of thing), but newer generation stuff like "battle ropes," plyometric boxes, etc. The room with the power racks is amazing. The vibes are generally great, with an eclectic and engaged clientele. There's even a pool and pickleball court outside. It's extremely clean (if that matters to you). My suggestions/criticisms are minor: more bench press setups, and ones that aren't meant only for short people (I'm 6'4" and I have to contort myself to fit on the benches). It gets hella crowded; but that's a good sign. read more

Use to love this gym when it was new now it's overly packed and it's so small for all the people they have , and I really hate the hours they use to close at 9 on Friday and Saturday now it's 7pm and they open at 7am, more for if your just always in that community and have that type of time to sit and wait around on a machine, OH and they are the hardest people to end membership with, they take your routing and account numbers and even if you go cancel you have to wait a month and they'll still charge you read more

I honestly never review gyms but after being a regular here for a little more than 3 months now, I felt the need to give this place a much deserved shoutout. Also want to give a special shoutout to James! That guy is awesome and friendly and always has good energy. One of my favorite things here is the Men's COLD PLUNGE, which is kept super cold in the mid-40's! It's such a rare amenity in the gym world that chances are your current gym doesn't have one. Cold exposure is great for recovery and offers plenty of other health benefits so it's absolutely magnificent to have this option available. The sauna here is also top tier and one of the hottest that I've ever experienced, getting up to temperatures as close as 200 degrees! The only other saunas that are equally as hot, from my experience, are the ones at the LA Fitness locations in Downey and La Habra. As for the equipment, everything here is NEW and works great. Lots of free weights, squat racks, benches, cardio machines, etc. It's not a huge deal but the only thing I feel is missing here is a plate-loaded seated dip machine. Those are always nice but maybe in the future, they'll add one (I have my fingers crossed). Overall, the gym is kept very clean and the crowd here is friendly/respectful. I travel a lot and go to lots of gyms, especially out in L.A. I'm at this V+V location on average 3 days out of the week and I always rave about it whenever I'm in sauna rooms across Los Angeles. Solid gym with decent hours. Can you guys please stop turning off the sauna so early. I go in there at 10:15 and it's only 120 degrees. The gym closes at 11:00 and it's normally around 165. Some people can only work out at certain parts of the day, meaning all amenities should be available at all times, otherwise why am I paying for this gym membership. Please just consider turning off the sauna at closing, it's not fair to turn it off early just because you want to go home earlier. Do your job. read more
