There are lots of gyms around but this was the only one that was personable enough and that offered more one on one training with a wide variety of equipment. I joined this gym on Memorial Day in order to get fit for my wedding. Although my weight loss isn't what I had hoped, I can safely say that I am the most fit, toned, and strong that I have ever been. I didn't imagine that I would be lifting such heavy weights and I am proud of how strong I am right now. The trainers are very knowledgeable, and I love how the gym tailors the workouts to your goals and how flexible it is that you don't have to make appointments (except for on Friday evenings or Sunday mornings) to do your workouts. It's a really cool and unique concept to get flexible on demand personal training. I think the price is reasonable for what you get and it is a really friendly atmosphere. It is also extremely family friendly - I've never seen a gym that allows babies and kids to come in for free, which is also unique and helps mothers stay fit. My only complaint is that I wish they had better hours on weekends, especially Sunday because I am not a morning person! I would also like to add that even though I am quite COVID conscious, the fact that half the gym is open air with ample ventilation, and that it is so small (would be rare to see 10 people in there) makes me feel safe to attend even though we are still in a pandemic. read more

This is a UNIQUE gym. They offer personalized training every single time you show up and can work with you no matter what your skill level is. They find out what your goals are and tailor the workouts to meet them. All the trainers are friendly and show you the exact way every exercise needs to be performed. Also, I have a nagging knee injury and they are able to adapt the workouts around it and have made the muscles around my knee much stronger. I joined this gym back in June. I am a former competitive athlete and this place has reawakened that part of me. All of the trainers are tough but genuinely want you to meet your goals. They create workouts customized to your goals. They will ease you into it and gradually up the intensity of each workout. Personally I've lost 9 inches from my waist since June. Andrea, Smitty, Kenny, Hailey, Sydney, and Troy each have their own style which keeps things interesting. I'm definitely glad I decided to join this gym. Amazing gym in Orangecrest/ Mission Grove area. The trainers here are knowledgeable and give you workouts everyday Taylored to your needs and goals. They're not only good at what they do but also are approachable. If you come in, you'll hear a lot of people talk about this place as family-it really is. They also offer tons of classes (spin, yoga, boxing, and an intense bootcamp) and each one is usually easy to sign up throughout the week. A gym that quickly becomes a home. What I enjoy about this place is not only the friendly trainers but the acceptance of all at any skill level and the ability to challenge you constantly to make you better. Smaller facility that offers personalized training any day any time you come in. Set up more like a cross fit gym than a big chain. Group classes available smattered throughout the week. Only thing keeping them from perfection is the weekend hours are limited (7-12 sat and no Sunday) and lack of showers (facility structure doesn't allow for it) To me it's worth overlooking for the amazing atmosphere and genuine concern about your fitness and goals. Excellent communication about class schedules, and changes to hours on holidays. I've been here now since April and I won't be going anywhere else as long as I live in the area. They are so accommodating to special circumstances that may come up for members as well. A legit community gym that cares about you Tip , if you frequent and have no chance of dropping off in your fitness regime, pay for at least 6 mo and save some bucks . Price tier changes based on length you buy. Please do yourself a favor and at minimum give this place an honest try before you settle on something that likely won't live up to what you could be offered here. read more

It is easy enough to find any excuse in the book not to work out. Luckily, this gym dispels all the reasons you tell yourself you can't look better, feel better or get stronger. For instance: 1. "I don't have any time." The gym has both personal training and group classes throughout the week that can fit into any person's schedule. When I had a personal trainer in the past I was worried about having to cancel workouts and lose money because something would come up or I would feel too tired. However, you choose whatever time you would like to come in during the typical weekday hours of 5AM-9PM and a personal trainer is always there to individually design your workout. No appointments necessary! Also, they have a great variety of group classes scheduled at different times of the day. The "Boot Camp" class in particular is three times a week and effectively combines both strength training and cardio. 2. "Gyms are intimidating." Since day one each person at this particular gym has been positive and welcoming. For instance, in the past the trainers have asked me what sort of music I like to listen to and then switched to that music channel. In addition, it's nice to have your name remembered when you return. I've tried LA Fitness and other gyms in the past, but I disliked the impersonal feel and it was uncomfortable that the weightlifting section appeared to be dominated by men with very few women thrown into the mix. A Taylored Body has a more balanced gender ratio with a community feel. There is no "meat market" vibe to be found here either. 3. "Working out is so boring." Let your trainer know what you do like to do and what you would like to avoid and they will fit the workout to your specifications. Each trainer also has their particular style to keep you motivated and improving upon your body. Every single workout is different on each day so you are constantly learning and mastering new skills. It's a challenge, but a challenge that entails your attention and feels rewarding. 4. "I won't see any progress anyway." I've had a baby in the past year. As many women can testify they do a number on your body! Yet, I can physically see that the exercises I am doing at my training sessions are getting results. Not only can I see the results, I've noticed a marked improvement in my energy levels and I have clearer cognitive function throughout the day. Finally, I'm noticing that my overall strength is improving as exercises I could barely do at the beginning are starting to come more naturally. This is a great feeling! 5. "A gym membership costs money." If you've hired a personal trainer in the past then you know how expensive they can be. However, at this gym I pay about half the cost of training sessions at another gym, and I get the classes thrown in with the membership as well. While a gym membership does cost money, so do the repercussions of an unhealthy lifestyle. This should definitely be one of the areas of your life in which you "treat" yourself.
