Sonic Charters St. Thomas

Sonic Charters St. Thomas

We booked a private charter for a group of 7 and Sonic charters gave us the best day on the island…read more The captain gave us some suggestions for a snorkeling excursion and took us to some of his hidden gems. We stopped by a beach for lunch and did some sight seeing with caves where he told us some stories about the attractions. The level of accommodation was also stellar as he was able to be flexible with our needs. Some of our friends were sea sick and requested to be dropped off a beach to relax and picked up later. The captain planned our day around that and helped to keep time of when we would go pick up our friends. The coral reefs were so vibrant and we saw so many fishes in the ocean. The captain made us feel safe that he has our back in case we swayed too far from the boat or needed help. I am not a swimmer but the boat had noodles and life jackets that he did not mind taking out and putting away as we went about our day. I appreciated how respectful the captain was about the island and the rules implemented such as reef safe sunscreens, no touching the turtles and so on. We had a great time and learned a thing or two! Towards the end of the trip a friend realized he had forgotten something on the boat and sonic charters helped us locate the boat and captain to retrieve it. Coming from nyc, it would have been long gone but glad we got it back. We had a great time, I would recommend them for anyone visiting and want their own boat to get away from the crowds.

Caribbean Blue Boat Charters - Dingy's Beach Bar, Water Island

Caribbean Blue Boat Charters

Captain Spence brought us around St. John for snorkeling and sightseeing. The islands have a much more picturesque view when on the water. Our group of nine saw nurse sharks, sting rays, lots of fish and "an army of squids" as my daughter happily exclaimed! Both trips we've taken with Caribbean Blue have been the highlight of the water time on vacation! We have done a group catamaran snorkel excursion and while fun in its own way, for the money, and size of our family (5 and 9) the true better value is with a private charter: more time on the water, more time in the water and waaaaay less clumsy landlubbers trying to figure out which end of the snorkel goes in their mouth and how to get their feet in the fins....... Make sure you stop for lunch at Limeout! There's something magical about floating at the taco bar. The food is unbelievably delicious and not what you'd expect from a floating restaurant in Coral Bay. The staff really are prompt and efficient at keeping the spilled food around you cleaned up! I'd highly recommend not forgetting hooded swim shirts for your day on the water. Sunscreen is not as effective as one would expect and the level of sunburn is what you'd probably receive if you were trapped in the alien tractor beam! I do know that if Capt. Spence had a stash of shirts for sale onboard we might have bought them all! If you're heading to STT and want to make forever memories book with Caribbean Blue! Hearing squeals of laughter from your kids when the boat is underway and getting blasted with salt spray while taking it all in from the stern seat sitting next to your wife is a parental joy that is on par with when you were Santa's helper when your kids were 3-10 years old. Yep, the feeling is that good! Even when you're getting fitted for the red suit that you won't be able to take off for 7-10 days.

My family had the best day. I highly recommend using Captain Nick , he did an awesome job. Will…read moredeff be using this charter service again!

He has a ton of great and intriguing information and was very well prepared to handle even some of the other more "challenging" persons on our tour. The tour started with a bit of background information, then preparing for the tandem kayaks with life jackets and snorkel gear, but we brought our own snorkel gear and that was fine. we paddled out about 1.5 miles through the mangroves winding back through seeing the wildlife and learning the about the area. We crossed over into cas cay and took a guided hike where we hung out with a ton of hermit crabs, had hermit crab races, leaned about the history of the cay. We hiked to the tidal pools to get a bit hands on with the brittle stars, urchins, welchs, conchs and other creatures. We hiked then out to the portal rocks and explored the formations a bit. On our way back to the beach we learned about the early buccaneers, settlers and natives. Once we got back, we dawned our snorkel gear and explored the cay. We saw many different fish, urchins, octopus, sunken boats, and sea cucumbers. We got a ton of videos and photos. Once we were done, we paddled back through the mangroves and we running a bit late, so we just went directly back, which was fine after a long day. The provided some water and answered any further questions we had before we loaded back on to the bus and headed back to the port. The roads to and from port are very winding, narrow and at times precarious. Traffic was certainly congested, so very glad someone else was doing the driving. We have a pretty great group of people on our trip and make some new friends. We learned, explored and experienced St. Thomas in a fantastic was. I certainly want to thank Skylar and his partner for making this an event we will not forget!

I would not recommend Virgin Ecotours. I booked an evening kayaking excursion, a few hours before…read morethe excursion. I mapped the location from the resort where I was staying, to the meet up location. I got a taxi to take us & we left with ample extra time to get to the location. Apparently there was an accident and our driver indicated that he was going to turn around and go another way, which would get us there right on the dot. However, route 2 was not panning out, as now other traffic also used that route. I emailed the company multiple times requesting if it was possible to move to next day. ZERO response. I texted the company phone number, requesting the same. ZERO response. I called before texting, no answer. I did this from the date of our reservation until into the afternoon the next day. Very, very disappointed, as their booking calendar showed availability for the following day, but no one would respond. So not only did we miss out on something fun, but we are out $250. Would not recommend whatsoever given the complete lack of communication. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
