I received an automated email asking me to help him meet a $600 "personal fundraising goal" for the baseball program. This was clearly not a personal message from my nephew. It addressed me as "Aunt Diana," which he does not call me; he has his own name for me. The school or fundraising platform used his name and our family relationship to make an automated solicitation appear personal. When I texted his mother about it, she told me not to donate and not to worry about it. Even worse, the linked website initially displayed a "Not Secure" warning because it did not have a properly functioning SSL certificate. Basic website security should be the absolute first priority for any site. Especially one asking people to enter names, payment information, and credit-card details. The donation page then made the experience even more questionable. The lowest visible preset donation was $100, and an additional $5 processing fee was automatically selected. Yet the message provided no clear, itemized explanation of what the baseball program needed the money for or why those expenses were not covered by the university's substantial tuition charges. If student-athletes are expected to solicit hundreds of dollars from their relatives, Eastern should transparently disclose the team's budget, how much the university contributes, exactly where the donations go, and what portion is retained by the fundraising platform. Instead, the school appears to be shifting athletic costs onto students and their families while using players' names and personal relationships to apply emotional pressure. Families already pay an enormous amount for students to attend Eastern University. They deserve transparency and properly secured payment links, not vague fundraising demands and a donation page designed to make anything under $100 feel inadequate. If my nephew needs money or equipment, our family will provide it for him, no questions asked. But $600 for WHAT?!

Someone was always doing groundbreaking and fascinating research, but there was always enough time to explain it in a relaxed way over chocolate chip pancakes. And if that weren't enough, the traditions really did bring the entire campus together, in ways a Yelp review can't do justice to. All the upperclasswomen were astoundingly knowledgeable and supportive, and the friends I made at Bryn Mawr are friends for life. Without question, going to Bryn Mawr was the best possible decision I could have made for myself as a young woman.

All the classrooms have up to date technology and just give you the overall feel that everything is new. When you first walk into the Lasalle portion of the building there is a huge snack table too. I've never seen so many snacks. They work on the honor system for purchasing them so bring cash if you are hungry and be honest! The classrooms even have Skype if you are unable to make it to class and want to see and here it . The University also offers a text message service to your phone in case of any cancellations of classes. I graduated six years ago already and I have to admit this place is pretty nice for it's small size. My one negative is there is only a womens bathroom in the Lasalle portion of the building. The guys have to walk completley out and across the hall. It's not a big deal really just weird actually. If you see some classes here I would highly suggest signing up for them. It's easy to get to and there are plenty of great places to eat at right around the area. Enjoy!
