Love this campus and community! Eastern has excellent academic programs, caring faculty and staff, and passionate students. The people here genuinely want to make a difference in the world around them. Campus is beautiful in the Fall and Spring I am in the middle of the online MBA program at Eastern. The classes are a great blend of flexibility and rigor. The program is accredited and applicable to real-word situations. read more

This is not an educational institution. This is an indoctrination camp for extreme viewpoints. Forcing students to watch extremely biased material from a teacher's far-fetched, unbiblical, extremely conservative one-sided view is not education. Education is the teaching of facts and presentations of both sides so that students can use critical thinking skills. Education is not an instructor spewing out their perspectives that doesn't even fully relate to the material. In my first class in the MBA program here, the instructor was teaching that price gouging is good for society, that there's no such thing as corporate greed, the rich paying "their fair share of taxes" doesn't make sense, and was openly slamming politicians. That is NOT education! That's indoctrination, which leaves no space for disagreements or differing viewpoints. This leaves no room for individual thought or critical thinking. Any good lecturer will present both sides of an argument and allow students to wrestle with the information to form their own educated conclusion. At the very least, they'll teach the material in a neutral manner. I don't appreciate any school trying to force one side or the other in their lectures. Present the facts... ALL the facts and ALL sides of the argument. Don't unnecessarily drag politicians into lectures, especially if you don't intend to discuss the other side/perspective. Don't champion one side without presenting the opposing view. As a Christian and ordianed minister, I'm highly disappointed that a "faith-based" college finds this to be acceptable and even more disappointed that their teachings are far from the faith they say they follow. Nowhere in the Bible are you going to find Jesus teaching that price gouging is good for society, nor are you going to find Him supporting the idea that the poor rightfully should pay significantly more taxes than the rich. #readyourbible #geteducatednotindoctrinated Matthew 25:44-45 Titus 1:14-16 read more

You automatically get registered for classes you don't want to take. What university does this? Then they will send you a bill to con you out of your money. Stear clear of this mediocre university. You have been warned. read more

Every year I buy sweatshirts and shirts for my family from a Christian University. This year I chose Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. The bookstore manager Chris, went out of his way to help me with ordering all the items I needed, plus, because I was ordering so close to Christmas, he gave me a credit for the expedited shipping that I needed so everything would arrive on time. I Thank God for someone as nice as Chris who went out of his way to help me choose things, but also his kind follow-up so I could track our package. I went to EU 4 years and got a degree in Biblical Studies. If you are a sheltered christian the place is great. If you grew up with the idea that this is reality and God lets things happen like Job then your in for a real hard time. Its administration that suck. The teachers are 100 percent top notch and go beyond the call of duty to help you succeed. But the higher ups make brash and ridiculous decisions. One is buying redoing a asphalt road for one of rocks. The claim was to make it safer for winter when roads freeze. Total waste of money. Recent things like firing/forcing a resign for Mike Wilson of the Cross country/ Track team for slanderous and unjustifiable reasons. They didn't defend someone who spent close to a decade representing them and being a Godly example. He is the most patient man and in my experience with him, no matter how out of hand a person or situation got he would stay calm and handle it wisely. No one who ever said anything negative about the man truly took time to hash out the situation with him. Very few people I consider a good Christian and he is one. They let coaches like Mark Birtwistle currently of the women's volleyball team, who is known for being overbearing and outrageous with his demands as coach continue to coach there. `When the Golf team was new I came to him to see if I could be a walk on having played in High school and being familiar with the sport. I offered my services as a player, manager, or even just a helper/caddy to be apart of the team. He stated that it wouldn't be necessary and that the team was looking to go to higher levels then just a regular player. Since members of his team suggested I ask him I figured it was worth a shot. The very next season a friend of mine who never played golf in his life was able to become a walk on to the Golf team that did go win a championship. I am I wrong to feel that the administration is shady. Imagine my immediately pist off I was. I was i declined entry to the team because I was of color, because he just didn't like me. The hand written letter I sent in about the situation to keep his job safe never received a response when I left a email. Teachers fired for poor reasons, students threatened with suspension for things that do not require that degree of punishment. The teachers, students, and staff at EU are great, its when you get to the higher ups is when it falls apart. And its because of stupid decisions. read more

I was also declined into the masters program here. I believe it was because of my career and they didn't agree with it. From other research I've gathered, I don't like how this school treats others that aren't your typical "church folk". I know someone that's worked here that was discriminated against because of their disability/stroke and others that were "gay". I attended another institution and I'm successful. I'm just warning others to not waste their time here. read more

Eastern is a glorified high school and the only thing that even redeems this school to have one star is the people that go there. I wasted the past two years here with subpar professors and an even worse education. The programs suck and the advisors have no idea what they're doing. I also waste approximately $5,000 each semester on food outside of campus because I don't want to starve and the food in the cafeteria is worse than what they serve in prison. Not to mention that the inside of the buildings haven't been updated in what looks like years. This review was me being as nice as possible too. Respectfully, you should choose anywhere but here to be in debt. read more

The campus is pretty and peaceful. It used to be known as the Walmarton estate. It's not ultra competitive, but I still think you can get a decent undergraduate education here (or masters degree). read more

The campus is very beautiful peppered with old stone buildings and old majestic trees that are gorgeous and a lot of the folks that work as support staff at the school are very nice people who are trying to help and assist you....E X C E P T .. the NURSING STAFF who are complete nut jobs... the program is run by some angry women that don't care to teach REAL nursing and what it means to serve others.. they are petty and mean spirited. They don't even pretend to like each other.. as a man I found this distasteful and distracting to learning. Nursing school is simply a place where academicians like this can hide and infect a department where someone may not have this experience taking a different program at this institution but for nursing you are doomed to this negative experience that is expensive and the nursing student doesn't have the ability to transfer as other majors might because you lose the time, money, and work that you have done at the school it is NOT transferrable. read more

All the upperclasswomen were astoundingly knowledgeable and supportive, and the friends I made at Bryn Mawr are friends for life. All the classrooms have up to date technology and just give you the overall feel that everything is new. When you first walk into the Lasalle portion of the building there is a huge snack table too. I've never seen so many snacks. They work on the honor system for purchasing them so bring cash if you are hungry and be honest! The classrooms even have Skype if you are unable to make it to class and want to see and here it . The University also offers a text message service to your phone in case of any cancellations of classes. I graduated six years ago already and I have to admit this place is pretty nice for it's small size. My one negative is there is only a womens bathroom in the Lasalle portion of the building. The guys have to walk completley out and across the hall. It's not a big deal really just weird actually. If you see some classes here I would highly suggest signing up for them. It's easy to get to and there are plenty of great places to eat at right around the area. Enjoy!

As an alumni and a current student, I love EU! My parents are also both alumni from when Eastern University was actually Eastern College, and they used to always talk about their irreplaceable time here at Eastern. The friendships they have created are still going on after 20+ years and are now family. I was a biology student for 3 years where I earned my BA in Biological Studies with a minor in Psychology. Now I am currently obtaining my MA in Counseling Psychology. The campus is absolutely beautiful, yes, but the faculty and staff are really what make the time spent at Eastern a fun and an educational rich experience that I will use in my future education journey and career! Eastern is a great place to learn and grow. I'm currently attending the online MBA program and can't say enough good things about the program or my experience with the university. The education excellent and I love the faith aspect that is incorporated into each course. The only negative ratings you'll see about this university is from people talking negatively about Eastern's Christian values. Well, it's a Christian university... and it is GREAT if that's what you're looking for. They also have chapel every Wednesday that you can watch live or catch later on their YouTube page. I would highly recommend this university and look forward to graduating with my MBA in December 2024. read more

I am currently completing my undergrad at Eastern. I also have some friends and family members that have gone here over the years. Eastern has a great culture, where they are uniquely involved in the community. There are lots of student organizations on campus, and off campus that serve the community. The professors are passionate, and I'm always challenged (in a good way) . It is a Christian university, but I've notices there is a diverse community. I attended Eastern twice- first at the undergraduate level and again for my MBA. The professors in both of my programs were wonderful- they challenged and encouraged me to grow in many ways. Attended Eastern for my graduate degree. What a wonderful program! Classmates were intelligent, dynamic individuals who also proved to be good friends. Academics were challenging - as they should be at the master's level. Faculty were engaging and supportive. I loved my time at Eastern and absolutely benefited from the education I received. Love the campus, the community, and the support I received. I'm a current online graduate student, came back to the University after a decade (bachelors degree Alumni). The University has grown and changed a lot since I was in undergrad and I love the growth! It's bigger, more robust, has professors with diverse backgrounds (ecumenically, socially, theologically). This university claims to be a Christian school, but the attitudes of the students and some of the administrative staff implies otherwise. The students can do as they please without any consequences. Students are drinking and having same/opposite gender relations, and no one says one word. The university claims to be biblically based, but I never saw an iota of biblical living or teaching. A true scam. I would recommend that prospective students consider another university. read more

I attended the fully online undergraduate LifeFlex program, and it was an amazing experience. I was able to maintain my full-time job while completing coursework at times that were convenient for me. Each professor was very responsive and attentive.
