The style and different variety of things are good but the water is kinda dirty and the slides rock back and forth which is terrifying but i like the water park and NOT rocking slides stuff so thats a bonus (btw its really crowded) read more

I've gone here since it opened still like it but there's a few things going down hill there hours are cut wayyyy back people shouldn't be running on the pool deck and jumping in without checking if you're swimming below and they used to have a rule about not wearing all your cloths in the pool it's hideous. read more

Even on a cold winter day, the public swimming pool which includes a wave pool and large water park play area was better then expected. Located next to Lester B Pearson High School in Calgary NE, would assume it would have been over crowded based on other reviews... Not the case at all. Kids enjoyed every bit. Hot tub definitely gets over crowded and the life guards have to manage the capacity. When your cold...your cold...and waiting in line to get into the hot tub is a downer but overall...the waive poo, water is pretty warm so it's not too bad. read more

I don't usually comment on this sort of thing, however my last experience there was very interesting. There was a young teenage girl, with a see thru White THONG bathing suit, which is fine...but in the afternoon at a family swim.? NO. Never at all. There was also a family of four fully dressed ( I mean actual jeans and belts) and a man with his phone in baggies..? And to finish. A man in brown underwear. Go enjoy the day! Fun Part! Wave pool. The waves turn on for a short while then calm if you like to swim between time. The Hot Tub is large but the jets are not too forceful. Steam room is big but lacks enough seating if it gets busy. Bring a Looney to operate the secure lockers. The loonie is returned to you at the end of your use. Bring soap for the shower area which is very adequate. They have a family area or mixed change room and also private areas in the main change room available. Body and mind development! Great classes for all fitness levels. Had a fitness class with Candy yesterday who is an excellent instructor! I tried Qui Gong for the first time and enjoyed the class although the instructor was hard to understand she was very accomplished and patient. I will be back for more. read more

While I LOVE the Village Square Leisure Centre, and while I've spent countless hours in the wave pool and on the slides here, I have to be honest... when I went recently I was kinda grossed out. I am still giving the Village Square 4 stars because it truly is an amazing place to spend hours on end and the concept of it is fantastic, especially since it gives us a way to remain active, even in the winter months, but I feel like the hygiene and the cleanliness of it could use some work. I say this because when I recently went, I sat in the whirlpool across from a girl who had cold sores all over her lips and I looked down into the water of the whirlpool and you could see all the dead skin floating on the surface. It was completely disgusting. When I was little, these things didn't phase me. But now that I'm older and a complete germaphobe, of course I'm going to notice. The Leisure Centre itself is amazing, as I mentioned. They have a gym, a wave pool, a library, a sitting area, and the list goes on and on. I just really need it to be a lot cleaner before I will go back. read more

Went with a couple buddies and our tidy crew of 7 kids to burn off some energy and get the kids out of the house for awhile during the holidays today. This was my first time at this centre, after having tried a bunch of the other pools in the NW and SW. One of my buddies had gone before and really liked it so we thought we'd drive the extra distance to check it out. It's a huge facility for sure with something for everyone. The price was right at only $14 for the 3 of us for the afternoon (kids 5 and 7) and easy enough to make your way around it with all the decent signage they have. Lockers only cost a loonie and you get it back at the end. The change rooms were... well, change rooms. Typically kinda gross, but spacious and lots of lockers. Had a quick shower and then walked the long chilly hallway to the waterpark area. They have a bunch of different slides to check out, the big water play area foe the kids, the wavepool, hottub area and then a smaller pool with the diving board. We tried em all, and had a blast. It is a public pool, so you have to know it's going to be kinda gross with that many people. Also very different seeing so many people in the pool with pants, shirts, headdresses and everything on as well. I realize it's a different part of town, etc but I didnt think they'd allow people to be in the public pool pretty much fully dressed. I don't think I'd travel the extra distance to hit this pool up again, but everyone did have a great time and it is a nice facility - it just needs a bit more attention to the cleanliness I'd say. read more

I haven't been to this place in a long time, but I remember it being a lot of fun. They have a public- library, gyms, and Calgary's largest indoor wave pool. The centre is also joined to the Village Square Shopping centre - which has a small food court and a Co-Op grocery store....not much else. The water in the pool is far to chlorinated, likely because of all the children there (I would hate to know what they do in the water). I have sensitive skin, and have always left with swimmer's rash. They have some fun slides, and great, nice big hot-tubs. The only problem is that there are a lot of kids. If you are looking to take your family, or if you are under the age of 15 this place is perfect for you. On the other hand, if you are an adult looking to go for a swim, the Talisman Centre Downtown may be a better option for you. read more

Nice newer facility, with tons of free parking at the mall across the way, on the street and in front of the building. This facility has tons of light and reminds me of a chalet... there is a library, a swimming pool complete with slides and wave pool and a small cafeteria. It is convenient in that you can get some of your errands done in the village square shopping center across the way, or you can simply just sit in the patio outside, but be wary of the snowball fights that the students of Lester B Pearson seem to engage in. Staff is very friendly and amenable to helping you out but like Sapna G, I found that there was a cleanliness issue; I mean you could feel it just walking into the complex. The library is quaint with nice service staff, and there are huge windows so it lets in lots of light and it is quiet enough that you can really get your studying on. Pretty thorough facility with a youth group that participates in many events twice a week. read more

Came here for the wave pool with my boyfriend and his brother (we're all adults heheheheh) The place is nice and we had a decent enough time. Unfortunately, there was constantly something closed. First? One of the slides. When they opened it up, they had a line up starting which made it not worth it. The dive pool was closed the whole time we were there. Lastly, there were some swimmers training for something in the wave pool so none of the kids were able to enjoy the waves. What a waste of money for their parents. I'd been here once before around Christmas time and I found the same problems. read more

We live very close to this facility so it's ultra convenient. The staff are friendly and well organized and the facility is awesome for what it is. We are there at least once a week. I also use the gym and steam room facilities and they are fine for what I need them for. Someone more intense into working out that I am may find the gym a little frustrating as it is often packed, but going early in the morning or during the day it's perfect. The steam room and ice cold shower next to it is perfect for a hot/cold treatment/cleanse which I'll do for about 40 minutes (hold/cold/hot/cold...). I do this once a week and it completely refreshes me. The kids (2 and 4) love "the pool" and it's very well set up for them. They do have to watch out for the bigger kids though in the pool and on the water park. Parking can be a bit of a pain though because the hockey arena is in the same facility and during hockey season you'll likely have to park by CO-OP and walk through the mall. Also the floors in the change room get pretty grimey by the end of the day! I also really don't like how they are only open at 6AM. That leaves very little room for a morning workout. Worse yet they are open even later on the weekend and Friday nights are teen nights so only teens allowed (good for them but bad for everyone else). The Wednesday night cheap night is also a mistake to go to especially if you're a pass-holder and the discount really isn't worth the place being jammed packed, lineups and all. Go at least once and see for yourself! read more

I live close to village square. It's great for skating. Wednesday night is half price public skating. The wave pool is fun. Defiantly for families. Have a water side and play place. Jacuzzi is Luke warm but the sauna is always killer hot. Library is loud. Very busy but great staff. read more

Change rooms are disgusting. Steam room had garbage on the floor and the lobby looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a few days. I will never go here again. Southland leisure is a cleaner and better experience. read more

As a member i appreciate the facilities, especially swimming . The high level of professionalism is prevalent and I'm thankful for it.

This place is just disgusting. The hot pools are not even that hot, because they are over crowded. In fact, the whole facility seems to constantly be over crowded. Change rooms are nasty. read more

Swimming here is only 3$ almost every day from 9pm- 10 pm. The weekends and I think wed is an exception to that but its still good.

Great big swimming pool area. Staff is disrespectful but great for power tripping. Caucasian guy wearing glasses by the children pool slide told my son he would be kicked out if he didn't wait 10 seconds after going down slide, even though he was the first one down, and no one was in front. He then told my son to shut the F*** up when he tried explaining himself. I will definitely not be going here again, bad experience with a staff member. Inglewood Aquatic Centre is much better, friendly staff and much much cleaner inside. read more

Excellent facilities with lots of cool stuff of which to take advantage. Overall, I have usually enjoyed my experience, especially on the pool. However, on one of my visits, the staff at the front desk and in the pool were difficult, unaccommodating, unhelpful, and took themselves too seriously. At least two of them seemed to be on a power trip on this day. This sullied my experience, and I would no longer choose this facility over others. I feel a business needs to do better to get my business. read more

I would definitely not be coming here again and would not recommend it to my friends and family. Worst customer service I've experienced in Calgary. My family was recommended to take our kids here while we visit Calgary and they were also having half price admissions that day. When we were purchasing our admission passes, we had some questions regarding the different prices that were available. The guy working with us was actually not too bad and tried to helped answer our questions but the manager started to give us attitude and told him to just charge us. The manager repeatedly said this even as we were paying and already paid and getting our wrist bands. The manager also used the word 'these people' just need to pay for what the price is and can't get any kind of deal because their going to just do this again next week. The manager even pointed at a member of my family and said 'that girl is a liar'. I don't understand how asking questions and making sure we're getting charged correctly makes us liars. I'm also not sure how he's classifying my family but the way he used the words 'these people' made it very clear he was being racist and stereotyping. Again I would not recommend this place unless you want to be treated like crap. read more
