I quickly found the aisle with a few jewelry boxes and some beauty product organizers, but didn't quite find what I had in mind. I did a quick lap around the store to look at the pet supplies, purses, bath towels, beauty products, and home decor. Their prices are reasonable and I saw a couple things I liked, but didn't buy anything because it was so warm in the store I didn't want to spend extra time in there. The store was fairly neat and organized, with the exception of the toy aisle (to be expected). They had a nice purse selection, similar to the one I saw recently at TJ Maxx. A Marshall's is opening soon in my neighborhood, and I plan to pay it a visit.

I noticed they had a lot of inventory in huge boxes sitting around the store that needed to be put away. I looked through a few of the boxes and found two cute makeup bags that I decided to get. I also love their shopping totes. For $0.99 you can't beat it. The line was long at the check out but it moved fast. The young lady helping was very polite and helpful. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area.

I learned about Five Below several days ago when I saw someone with an adorable purse charm who…read moresaid she got it there. It was a fluffy little monster she made into a charm with a kilt pin, and I wanted to see if I could find one, so I stopped in there this morning. Five Below is like a dollar store, but most items are five dollars and below. They have lots of toys, craft supplies, beauty products, kids clothes, and candy. Their demographic is teens and tweens. It was crowded with families and kids when I arrived. The store had lots of Easter items near the entrance, as well as toys. I walked quickly around the store, checking out what they had to offer. I didn't see the fluffy monsters. The candy section was huge and they had a good selection. I picked up a few of the Ghirardelli dark chocolate bars I like to keep in the freezer and some Pocky Sticks. I meant to buy a bag of strawberry KitKats but got distracted and forgot. On the very last aisle I found some of the monsters I was looking for, but they didn't have the specific one I wanted. That's okay, I'll buy it on eBay. I'm not sure I'll be back to Five Below since it doesn't offer much for me.

We tried to ask for help but there were no employees around. I did get a few hand sanitizers. At the self checkout there was one employee that had no clue if they had clothing hangers. Why advertise items you don't have in the store? I ended up ordering some on Amazon.

I think she was trying to rally random passerby-ys into yelling at him with her but people in their right sense of mind wouldn't. If that is an indicator of the regular clientele that goes here, then I'd rather not go here at ALL lol. We were here during the holiday season and wanted to see the decorations and shops but after that and maybe a quick walk around we left ASAP. If I had to compare and describe this place, I'd say it's like a worse downtown Pasadena with less things to do and look at.

I think the current shops and restaurants are some of the best I've seen. There are a few boutiques going out of business at the moment, but hopefully they won't stay vacant long. I haven't tried any of the higher-end restaurants like The Table or Black Sheep Brasserie yet, but I do enjoy Aqui Cal Mex, Willow Street Pizza, and Taiwan Restaurant to name a few. Some of my favorite shops are Mariette Chocolates, Hicklebees independent book store, and Footwear, Etc. My chiropractor and massage therapist also have offices there. I find it relaxing to spend a couple hours browsing the shops and having lunch. Plus it feels good to support small local businesses.
