Had an appointment at 10:20, I usually get there 10-15 minutes early. I check in, get called back within 10 minutes (so far so good). Get blood pressure etc. checked by MA and says my PA has one more patient in front of me, so far no problems ( and I kind of expect it, I can wait). 30 minutes later, NO ONE comes in to say anything.... I peek my head out the door and ask on an update as I have been waiting over 1/2 hour. I am informed the yes she is running late and it would be another 15-20 minutes.... OMG, and no one thinks to let me know I have to wait an hour to see her. If they would have told me that to begin with I would have rescheduled..... P.S., this company has changed hands AGAIN. I want to bring to your attention the extremely poor experience I had when calling your office today regarding Dr. Laura Way. The first time I called, I spoke with a young man who immediately told me Dr. Way does not accept Cigna. This was very concerning because my insurance company had just confirmed that she does. I felt dismissed and given inaccurate information right away. Because of that, I called back a second time. The second person I spoke with told me Dr. Way does accept Cigna, which directly contradicted what I had been told just minutes earlier. At that point, I was relieved that she was in-network, but the call itself was beyond frustrating. The staff member I spoke with had a very difficult time understanding me. I had to repeat my first name, address, phone number, and insurance details multiple times, and even then it felt like the information wasn't being captured correctly. There was a clear language barrier that made the process drag on unnecessarily. After spending nearly 30 minutes on the phone, painstakingly repeating myself and trying to make sure my information was entered correctly, I was finally told there is no availability for several months. I was shocked and frustrated this is something that could have been shared at the very beginning of the call. Instead, I wasted a large amount of time providing basic details only to find out that I wouldn't be able to see the doctor any time soon. read more

I understand that rules and schedules matter, but what happened at my recent appointment felt deeply unfair. My appointment was set for 7:40 a.m. Knowing I might be a few minutes behind, I called ahead and arrived at 7:54 a.m.--well within what I believed was a 15‑minute grace period. I waited patiently while the administrator helped others, only to be told that because I was "two minutes late," the doctor would not see me. Two minutes. That was enough to erase the importance of my health, the effort I made to call ahead, and the hour‑long drive I took from the West side of Phoenix. I didn't argue--I simply walked out--but inside I couldn't help but ask: does being one or two minutes late really outweigh a patient's need for care? Patients routinely wait 10, 15, even 20 minutes past their scheduled time for doctors. Yet we don't get to say, "Sorry, your time is up." Why is the standard so rigid for patients, but flexible for providers? This was a follow‑up appointment I had already rescheduled once due to work conflicts, and now I can't even get back in within a reasonable timeframe. I value my health, and I respect the doctor's time. But respect should go both ways. When a patient makes the effort to drive an hour, call ahead, and show up, being dismissed over two minutes feels not only unreasonable--it feels like a system that forgets the human being at the center of it all. read more

Village medical billing dept sucks. They hire outside the usa and require name, addy, phone# and email just to verify who you are to talk. In office and usa service they need name and bday only. They said the biggest complaints at the office in usa are the complaints with overseas billing and service. Looks like im going to dump these clowns and get a real drs office. My Doctor is awsone, I will recomend him over and over. the office staff on the otherhand is horrible. I called to make sure my insurance was accepted, I pre-registered and included pictures of the front and back of my insurance card, they called and verifird that I would be at the appointment in the morning. when I arrived for my 2:40 appointment, they informed me that my insurance wasn't accepted at their office. They did let me know that someone should have called me earlier but they didn't. The front desk employee said there was nothing to say. it just happened. I saw Dr. Vivas at Village Medical for my annual preventive exam. My cholesterol was only slightly elevated on last year's labs, and I'm not on any medication. We talked about it for just a few minutes as part of my checkup. Despite that, the visit was coded as an office visit instead of preventive care, and I was billed. When I asked about it, Village Medical refused to adjust the charge. I'll pay the bill, but I believe this is unfair billing. Because of this, both my husband and I will be leaving the practice. read more

The provider I was seeing left in March, and I was never informed that the entire practice would be closing. I've been unable to get refills on my medication. I need to pay another copayment to see a different provider just to have my refill approved. This has been the most frustrating and unprofessional medical experience I've had. The website is so bad it says "click here to schedule an appointment" then it gives me a list of doctors but not where they are located. They could be doctors all over Arizona. Then it says "search my location". And it just shows a list of addresses, but no map. I have to individually type every address in the map on a different app to see where it's located and see if it's plausible for me to go. If I want to be seen ASAP I do not care about which doctor sees me. I just want to be seen. This is the worst medical app I've ever used and I've used a lot. read more

It's May 23rd now. My daughter got rear-ended on the freeway yesterday and has whiplash symptoms. But don't worry, because she can get into our doctor in MID-JULY! If I want her to see a PA, I only have to wait TWO WEEKS! No same day appointments. They tried to send me an hour and a half away to someone in five days. It's a really terrible medical system. My physician actually canceled on me on the day of my appointment. I had to make another appointment with a different physician. My Telehealth appointment was late. I wouldn't go back nor recommend anyone as a first choice. I've never seen a health system this unorganized. Perfect example of what's wrong with American Healthcare. Equity companies buying individual practices and the doctors leaving as soon as their non-compete expires. I've gone through 3 PCP over 3 years. Final straw was the changes to the blood work. These doctors pushed hard for patients to use Village medical for blood work. The biggest selling point was no appointment required. Found out this morning that appointments were now required and they no longer accepted blood work requests from specialists not associated with Village medical. This policy change was never communicated through emails or the Village Medical app. I'm done with Village Medical. read more

I am happy with the doctor, but very unsatisfied with everything else: The website promises responses within 2 business days - responses from "Savannah" regarding refill requests have taken (typically) 12 elapsed, with questions like: "Which pharmacy?" I said "Red Mountain, just like the last time, and the time before that..." (yah, I was already not impressed, and I had "Red Mountain Compounding Pharmacy" in the subject...), and 12 days later I was told "We cannot send prescriptions to Red Mountain weight loss..." so I said "Red Mountain Compounding Pharmacy." Then waited a week... for the next question, which was: "What is the prescription and the dosage?" So I answered and have been waiting another week... so far - so I wrote this review. read more

(1) you cann't call the office; everything is routed to a call center (2) thay have screwed-up my last 2 appointments and said I (!) cancelled them and made no effort to accommodate me other than offer to check scheduloes at other office (with a doctor I've never met). If you do not want to be in an absolute medical billing nightmare, go somewhere else. I had to have a repeat medical test due to a test kit flaw. Despite assurances that the second office visit and the test would be no charge, I am left with paying the entire bill twice (office visit AND lab work). I work in the medical profession myself. I have spent 4-5 hours of my lunch time trying to work this out over the past 3 months. Nothing has been resolved (although they say it will) and now I am being sent to collections. All for a medical error I had no part in. I have no issues with my PA or the front office, but you will be spending many hours of your time on the phone with any communication issue, and you will still end up paying for something you shouldn't be or you are threatened with a credit score ding. Be careful with medical offices. It is not just about the care you receive on the front end (reception/provider). The care you receive from the back office can make matters worse. read more

Please do better owners of Village Medical. Your business model is sad. The NP I met was kind and sweet but unfortunately was so caught up in the red tape that patient care was deeply disregarded due to fear of getting reprimanded by the pharmacy. I say that as a new patient who was just trying to establish myself and get refills of meds I've taken for literal decades (sumatriptan and rizatripans for migraines - neither are controlled substances). I'm new Gilbert from out of state. Haven't found a neurologist yet (they are booked out months) however this NP had full records of my previous prescriptions from several other doctors in their database (this was new to me as well), including my migraine meds. CVS and Walgreens have both filled BOTH of those meds throughout the country for literal decades and I've NEVER had an Issue like this before. My PCP has prescribed BOTH of these meds In my previous states over the past decades without Issue. She shared her concern with refilling both as they are both triptans (I know this) due to contradictions if taken together (I know this) and continued sharing how the pharmacy could send it back with concern for fear of losing their license. That said, during our time she was able to send it and stated it went through just fine however with no issues or reprimands from the pharmacy. Then I waited and waited for my prescriptions to be ready at Walgreens (only selected due to Village Medical requesting I utilize them) but never received a call. When I called Village Medical a week later they confirmed the prescriptions were NEVER SENT IN so I changed to my own pharmacy and requested they be put in. They were and I've since picked them up. This seems like a small hometown feeling medical group however it's clear when I call to set up appt or in my case today, cancel my next appt because I won't be back, that you seem to source out their departments and it isn't working well. At least not in my new patient experience. I just got off of a call that lasted 8.48 to cancel my next appt and she wasn't able to do so because she couldn't figure out my chart she said. She was kind and professional however I shouldn't be on a call for almost 10 minutes trying to cancel an appt only to now have to wait for her to return my call to confirm she did, in fact, cancel it. Seems like patient care is taking a back seat to profitability and it's showing. read more

My Dr and his NP are great- Why they would ever want to be associated with a medical center like this is beyond me, but now I'm now looking for a new Primary care Dr because I can't call the Dr's office Directly- When I call it goes to a Call Center which then they take my information only to leave a message for someone to call me and they have 2-3 business days to get back to me. I even called in one night because of a very painful UTI and asked for the on call Dr to call me- The response from the call center rep (Hard to understand btw) was I did not meet the requirements for the on call physician to call me back,- WHAT! To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I have left maybe 1 other negative review in my lifetime, so I'm not one to take the time to do this but its been so bad I feel people should seek care somewhere else. read more

My regular physician's group practice was bought by Village Medical, who has unfortunately turned out to be better called Vile Meddlesome. I am very happy with the care my doctor and his associates have provided over the years and continue to try to provide, with only mixed success because VM inserts itself so clumsily and ineffectively between them and me, slowing down and distorting our communications to the point that it endangers my health. Prescriptions are routinely delayed for many days and even sent to pharmacies I have never used. I would rate VM negative stars if I could because they so significantly degrade the health care I need. They are worse than useless. They are a perfect example of what's wrong with corporate management of health care, and if my own physician sticks with them much longer I'll be forced to find someone else. read more

Absolutely the most disorganized office I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. Fortunately they no longer take our insurance that they have taken for the last 7 years with Complete Care. Tried for over a week to get someone to simply call and fill my wife's blood pressure medicine. Everyday we were assured it was done and everyday no results. Over the weekend no results. Not until we literally called and discussed the potential repercussions should something occur due to there lack of follow up and accountability did we finally get it filled after placing me on hold multiple times and hanging up multiple times. The docs who sell out to this monopoly only stay 2 years and then patients are left without adequate care from a supervising physician. I have been a patient with Village Medical for several years. My husband and I followed Heath Smith to this practice from her previous one. We love Heather Smith. I also see Kelsey Jewell and I love her too. We drive at least 40 minutes to see them at the 1760 E Pecos Rd, Gilbert AZ location. When we can't get in to see Heather or Kelsey we have seen Marlee in the Queen Creek location and she is fantastic as well. Our only complaint is how hard it is to get in to see Heather lately. read more

Doctor visit was fine, but the phone system is a nightmare. You have to call into a call center and can't call the office directly. My doctor called me 20 minutes before my telehealth appointment because they were running ahead. I just barely missed the call but called back within seconds. It took me 7 minutes to wait on hold for the call center and ask to be transferred to my office directly. There was also a problem with one of my prescriptions. I put in two messages though the app, left a message with the call center, and finally 4 days later called again and insisted on speaking to the office. Once I got through the problem was fixed immediately. It's a good office, but I will probably find a new provider because of this bonkers call center system they have. read more
