Have you gone into a CVS lately? The staff, if you can find anyone, is rude, they have the…read moreattitude, we're getting paid whether you're happy or not... and truly mean it. Tonight, I went into 1425 Barnum Ave in Stratford, CT and looked for the prescription eye drops the Dr at the Minute Clinic across town prescribed for me. The guy behind the counter says wrong location, not here. My wife walks away and tell me wrong pharmacy. I ask did he tell you where it was, if he could get it transferred here, etc? My wife said no so we assumed it went to the minute clinic location, so we drove across town. They were equally rude.... they said we dont have it. I remembered I received a text from CVS stating the prescription was ready earlier in the day. I notice it had the address where we just were. So we drive back to Barnum Ave. We walk up to the consultation window this time. The pharmacist looks over, keep doing what he's doing. No acknowledgement he'll be right with me. Just keeps filling prescriptions. After what felt like 10-15 minutes, Edward walks over and as I try to give him the back story, he raises his voice and says "I dont care about any of that" and asked my DOB. I give it to him and tell him he's very aggressive and to take it down a notch. He raises his voice even higher and says he asked for my DOB. I give it to him again. I pull out my phone and tell him I'm taking a picture of him so he can't deny it was him when I file a formal complaint. He says, I'll take your picture too...and I smile. He proceeds to ask again my DOB, I said dude, pay attention. I give it again. He asks for my name I give it to him and he proceeds to tell me he doesn't need the back story where I tell him yes, he does. We were already here and sent away when I have proof the prescription was sent here. He cuts me off and asks for my name a fourth time. I proceed to tell him I'm going to record his mannerism since I didn't know if the cameras in the pharmacy record sound but I didn't want him denying the way he's speaking to us. He comes out from behind the counter and squares up to me. Now I'm 6 ft and I look at hm and ask, "what are you gonna do" thinking he was getting physical with me. He goes back behind the counter and I repeated, I dont know why you're being an a-hole but I didn't piss you off today" and then he started yelling and screaming saying he's not serving me and to get out. I smile and say "You're a big man" and Corporate will have a field day with you. He said I dont care I'm not getting recorded. I said look around you, there are 16 cameras on you the entire time you're working... and we walked out. I told him he better be careful coming out from the counter squaring off with a customer... the next one may not be calm and collected. I called corporate 800 number and filed a complaint. I doubt CVS will care, reprimand the pharmacist because they need him more than they need my business but people, OMG they are so unprofessional. I once complained about having one refill on my diabetes medicine for a year ( 30 days supply ) and never heard from CVS. The refill disappeared finally but who has to get hurt, die or wind up in the hospital because CVS only cares about the buck now? We're done, we're never going back and honestly, every failure started with upsetting one customer at a time

My experience at this store is in dealing with the pharmacy and specifically the pharmacist, Mike…read more I was in CT visiting family and had brought a medication I had to take daily, at the same time each day. When it was 7:30pm and I went to take my medication - (the medication switched to a new one as I became closer to delivery in my pregnancy and it was an injection), I realized the new medication was labeled and boxed as a "pre-loaded syringe" but was missing the needle to subcutaneously inject. After multiple calls to my doctor, my family realized this Walgreens location was one of the only pharmacies open late. My doctor hadn't realized a separate order was needed for the actual needles and then was with patients. It was nearing 9:15pm at this point, the pharmacy was closing at 10pm, and had multiple people in line and was working on a number of additional orders. In the midst of it all, Mike was happy to help. He reassured that he had needles in stock once the doctor called it in, walked us through the different size options, tried calling the doctor himself, and compared everything to the prior injection I'd been on. In reaching the doctor, we realized I could stay on the prior medication I'd been on for another night or two (not an easy medication to find itself), and Mike had it, and immediately prepared it for us. Earlier in the evening, my doctor said it was probably okay to go one night without the medication, but admitted when we spoke to her at the pharmacy that actually she was nervous telling us that. Given those comments and all of this being new territory with a new medication, Mike was so calm, reassuring, competent, and helpful. While it used to be protocol to counsel a patient on a new medication, that does not happen at my local Walgreens anymore. Mike went above and beyond the call of doing this.
