I had a very disappointing experience with the service department at Village Ford and feel it's important to share my experience with other customers. I scheduled a service appointment online regarding an extra spare key and programming. The next day, Marissa from the service department called to discuss the issue. During that call, I explained the situation and she told me I could drop the vehicle off after hours if needed. At no point during that conversation was any diagnostic fee mentioned. After I dropped off the vehicle, Marissa later called me with a quote of $600 for a spare key and programming--$300 for the key and $300 for labor. I felt this price was extremely high, especially considering I was able to have the exact same service completed at another Ford dealership for $295 total. When I told her I would not be proceeding with the service and that I would come pick up my vehicle, I was surprised to learn that she refused to release my car unless I paid a $175 diagnostic fee. She claimed this fee had been discussed previously, which was not accurate. The only reason my vehicle was eventually released was because I requested to speak with a manager and mentioned that the phone conversation could be reviewed to confirm that no such fee had been explained. This experience felt very unprofessional and concerning. I believe the dealership ownership or partners may not be aware of how customers are being treated or how pricing is being handled within the service department. Transparency, fair pricing, and clear communication should be standard when dealing with customers. Worst service department I have ever dealt with. I should have known I was in trouble when I showed up to drop my car off and had to wait 45 minutes even to get to a service write-up person. Then, another half hour to repeat what I already wrote down when they shoved the clipboard in my face when I initially checked in. What THEY call and appointment is actually when you drop your car off to have it sit in their parking lot for weeks waiting to get looked at. I have had regular oil changes and some minor service work on inoperable windows for up/down to sunroof issues for my leases as well as my owned vehicles too. The site said the item was in-stock; and also gave me a shipping date as well. Later with no explanation they CANCELLED my order while telling me it would take at least several or more business days to receive my payment back. This type of sleezy practice of selling something they decide not to deliver while keeping your money is pure hogwash--they, as a business, can easily avoid doing this to people if they every even cared. Used car lot --The lot has some nice vehicles. They lost any future purchases because they knowingly were not being honest in the sale of my vehicle. You saw "sucker" written on our forehead and thought you won. Lost any future sales over $196. and definitely wasn't looking out for my best interest. If they had just offered to give me that as a customer courtesy even though they claim they couldn't. They knew I was getting the short end of the stick by not being specific. When I was just trying to make it easier on them by accepting the money,$400 and thinking they were going to give me all that would be the contract difference, plus tax and interest. They acted like it would save on the paperwork. So yes, do it, I'll take the "$400" my thinking it would include the whole contract difference. Reducing by $400 also reduces everything else, so I thought,my loss. I didn't realize they weren't going to rework it and give me back the contract difference reducing it by $400 made. Then I realized they screwed me out of $196. and refused to make it right. They have a closed contract so f'u is how they feel. Thanks!! It's more than obvious now that they really tried to sell it to me for the higher amount. Smiling faces aren't always honest faces!! You got me!! Bent without grease or permission. The way you handled financing also gave, you thought my credit was shot. 800+, and you tried it! Who the Hell is Santander?! Each time that I have had work done on my 2016 Ford Escape, which I purchased at this location, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. This last time, which occurred on October 25, took the cake as the quotes that I was given in writing 30 days prior, which together totaled $700 for four specific maintenance procedures (Cabin Air Filter/Oil Change $100; Coolant Flush $189; Transmission Flush $229; and Brake Flush $179.00) were not honored by the service desk intake employee. Instead the quoted prices were inflated to the point where I could only get the Cabin Air Filter/Oil Change and Transmission Flush done to the tune of $431.02. The parts amount on my bill reads $153.00. While the miscellaneous charges read $37.33. Not surprisingly, the bulk of the bill is the $229.00 for labor. If this isn't a case of text book price gouging, I don't know what is! The last straw for me happened Thursday, November 3 (9 days after my repairs) as the manila paper/plastic guard which sits below the front part of my car to protect the engine, and related operational parts fell off when I was driving, and forced me to ride back to my place of residence with flashers on while listening to the manila paper/plastic guard drag the ground. Once I got back, and jacked the vehicle up so I could look underneath it, I noticed that the screws which hold the manila paper/plastic guard in place were missing. It then became evident to me that in order to perform the Transmission Flush that I had done, the guard had to be removed, so obviously it wasn't screwed back on correctly by the mechanic/repair person, which eventually caused the screws to fall out. This inconvenience caused me to be 2 hours late for work (less pay) as I had to look in my garage to find four screws that I could use to screw the guard back in place as it was hanging off, and being held by only one screw on the right side, making the car undrivable! Wait for it while checking my fluids my oil stick was asphalt black. When I paid Village Ford for tire rotation, oil change and fluid top off no maintenance was completed. My oil was never changed just like my tires we're never rotated and fluids never topped off. Very disappointed in Village Ford quick lane service. I placed my order in Village Ford 11.22.20. Two days later I received a quote. After some editions the total bill was a little bit over $700. I had a deal with Dave. He is definitely a very experienced salesman. It was easier to run over the list of parts with 20 some positions with his help. Then I started to wait delivery... First they told me to expect delivery on 12.02.20. It was not real. Village Ford does not have all parts in their stock and they rely on deliveries from third parties. But they do not inform customers about it. So when I did not get my parts December 2nd I called them December 4th asking about where a package is. They told me that they hadn't even sent it yet. Why?! Still waiting for the last part to be delivered to their location from somewhere. I asked to send me whatever they have. And I started to wait for delivery again... I do not know why Village Ford uses FedEx for delivery. It was terrible! Several times FedEx rescheduled date of delivery. Finally I received my parts December 12th, 20 days after I placed an order. Unfortunately one part was sent wrong: probably the person who completed the whole order made a small mistake and I got the part I didn't need. And I had to buy it from a local dealer for the double price. I was trying to get credit for this part and difference in the price. Dave told me to contact the shipping department because his job was done. Now: it's very-very hard to talk with them over the phone. They do not pick up the phone, they drop a line, they do not react to voicemails, etc. But finally everything came ok. All this time my truck was in a shop with an engine apart. I lost a lot of nerves and money. Experience with Village Ford was very stressful. Resume: Village Ford has a really good price on OEM parts, but keep in mind - it will take a while to get your parts. Jim Burton took great care of me - even helped me track down the most recent proof of insurance to help me get my truck in to service and get back to work on time (completely outside the scope of his duties, and also taking up his time). I, like many, have been left with a bad taste in my mouth from dealerships in the past. I gave Village a shot because they had the vehicle I wanted (found it online), and are close to my office. Jim kept me apprised of repair updates, and assisted in executing a quick pick up when I only had a limited time to swap the rental for my truck on my lunch hour. My car was under extended warranty for a transmission control module. I got a diagnosis from two different people that this is what was wrong with my vehicle. I was in contact with Village Ford they stated they could fix my car and had the part in stock to fix it. I towed my car up to their location to find out the part was on back order and that there were 60 other vehicles on their lot ahead of mine waiting for the same part. They then refused to service my vehicle because of an ignition interlock device. I contacted the State of Michigan and they stated that dealerships are supposed to work with you and around the device. I've had transmission work done at Gene Butman ford in Ypsilanti no problems, but Village Ford refused me service even though my car is under warranty. I offered to come move the car when they could fix it and they stated their supervisor said they can't do any work on my car unless the device is removed. This dealership has poor communication skills and their employees clearly don't know what they're talking about. My initial phone call I stated I had an interlock device told them it was my TCM and the employee told me tow it, the part was in stock and I could pick it up by the end of the week. Fast forward 8 months later, my car is still not fixed and they refuse to fix it. They also threatened to make me pay a storage fee for having my car sitting in their lot. Todd Bigelow of Village Ford in Dearborn is an excellent Service Advisor. My parents live in Dearborn, and I live out of state. I wanted to coordinate getting some work done on their two vehicles. Village Ford was able to schedule both vehicles back-to-back such that the handoffs were smooth and my parents had at least one car at home. Todd stayed in touch with me via text as his team diagnosed the areas that needed regular service and what warranty work was outstanding. He also identified areas of attention--my parents had not changed their tires in 10 yrs and he was able to find cost-effective replacements and have them changed within a day. Along the entire way, Todd was attentive to the costs of the project and communicated excellently. He helped to coordinate getting the car back to them before the weekend started. He even met my mom to personally give her the keys back. Very professional and respectful. I highly recommend Village Ford and Todd Bigelow. read more

I purchased my SUV 2018 Ford Explorer in April 2021 With 13771 miles at village Ford in Dearborn.. Just last month, when I pressed on the brakes, there was a horrible noise. Went to get the noise checked out.. I have only 10% brake life left!!!! I only put 6k miles on it!! called the dealership, they are trying to tell me it's normal wear n tear And they are not paying for it!! It cost me 900$. Be careful with this place. Dropped off for an oil change and a loose fitting that needed to be tightened and fastened and the oil change was done, but nothing about the fitting.
