I'm giving them a 3 star review because they did offer refunds for each issue and apologies, and acknowledge we make mistakes, I am just bothered it's repeated and over the course of a couple of years. We haven't had issues with clothes or shoes but specifically with either toys missing entire pieces repeatedly or broken toys. First it was a build a bear wheelchair that was clearly taped together then broke same day we bought it. Then it was a pink baby stroller that had a gem over a missing screw so it never worked right. Then it was a wooden toy set that had broken pieces and then missing pieces. And recently we bought a train set that didn't even have the correct train pieces in it. They offered refunds for all and apologies so I do want to make that known, I feel as though if you know this is an issue, this shouldn't keep happening. My child gets her hopes up every time to then have to take it away from her. We were able to give away the train set and decided to not take the refund as my partner felt uncomfortable going back in. Saying you're human and we make mistakes is true, yet the issue needs to stop happening. Attacking people for leaving honest reviews isn't professional and I see a lot of that in the owners response. Yes it can be nice if they contact you first but it's not required. Your apologies doesn't negate the experience especially if it's a repeated experience. If you shop here, please make sure you count, check and quality check the toys you are getting. Luckily we live very very close and hasn't been a huge inconvenience but it could be for a family that's visiting out of town or doesn't live close. I do want to add something since the owner responded and I feel as though it should be said, if you're putting the blame on your staff consistently, then maybe the staff needs to change because these mistakes are costing customers and ultimately money for the business. I love the clothes I buy there, and I come back on the regular, even though I no longer live in Multnomah Village, because the clothes are so good and the women know me there. They're so sweet, kind, and caring. I also bring clothes to sell and donate. They'll look at your clothes either on the spot, or will take 1 or 2 days (they take one day off a week from accepting clothes). You can choose to have clothes donated through them, and they team up with non-profits throughout Portland and give them to people in need. It's a win-win. What I love about this store is... everything about it. They even have skincare products that have allowed me to try $70+ products for $20 or less. I LOVE THIS STORE!!! So go here if you want new-looking, trendy, affordable clothes.

I have now tried 3x to pick up all of my "rejects" and the shop is never open. Inventory can vary like any second-hand store - sometimes I walk out with armloads, other times I don't find anything I'm interested in - that's the joy of thrifting! If you bring in something to donate, they'll give you a small discount on your purchase. A couple reviews mentioned pricing - it's a fair point. Sometimes I look at an item and think they're asking too much. Things I do then: 1) put it back, or 2) take it to the front and ask if they're willing to pay a price I feel comfortable with. An example - I found a great pair of See Kai Run shoes, but they had pen scribbled on them. I asked if they'd lower the price, and they did. If they'd said no, I would have put them back. Another time I just looked up the item and showed them that I'd found it new for less - again, price was lowered. I feel like some things are well priced, and some things are a bit too high. But even with that.... Things I don't do: 1) not look at price tags and then feel betrayed because it was more than I expected 2) not make sure I understand the return policy AT A SECOND-HAND PLACE and then feel betrayed because I failed to do so 3) leave solely negative reviews for companies because I like bringing only negative energy into the world. Just saying. :) Another note - sometimes things do need a wash. I would say that's occasional. But I don't care because I wash everything before I put it on my kiddo anyway. And just a note - this is a donation-based store, not a consignment place. It's different. A portion of their proceeds go to a charity. The options are amazing for kids birth to school age. There is a game room, clothing section, area for baby items (strollers, cribs, swings, etc) and so many toys. If you need it for a kid, they probably have it. Things are a bit on the expensive side, but I think that's expected because the stuff on display is usually in fairly good condition and I imagine the rent in this area isn't particularly low for a two story store that runs on variable donations. It's a place that I enjoy having in close proximity to my home and as part of our local community.

Paloma never lets me down with their expansive collections of accessories, bags, locally made jewelry, and high quality US made clothing lines, such as: Cut Loose and Tianello. On the other hand, the jewelry is where I really go a bit overboard for myself. I can't resist the exceptional selection of handmade rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
