It was not quite where I want a 4 rating to be for customer service. The food was solid, but the cost didn't quite match the delivery. We may have hit them on a bad day, don't know. It does seem to be popular with the town's people - lots of people visiting at other tables for a quick chat, which is nice to see.

This time I also tried a salad on the side that was like a vinaigrette slaw made from mainly cauliflower - it was delicious and flavourful. Cottage Cravings only recently came to Bala after a fire at their original Gravenhurst location…read more last year left them looking for a new space. But I'm so glad they landed in our tiny, sleepy town: CC is about as close as it gets to a one-stop shop here. There aren't a lot of places where you can grab a coffee and sandwich, pick up cheese and charcuterie to take home, or grab wall art or dish towels for the cottage. I appreciate that the products here are so thoughtfully selected as well. Cottage decor can teeter on kitschy, but the selection at CC -- technicolor enameled outdoor dining sets, lake-themed hooked rugs, craftsman birdhouses -- is tasteful as well as fun. Popsicle makers and painted martini glasses give ideas. Food from local vendors means you don't have to wait for next week's farmers market to pick up those jams or condiments. And a bounty of healthful dining options from veggie paninis to fresh soups make a quick, delicious lunch. CC definitely makes a great addition to our little hamlet.

Seriously! I wanted to buy several flavours, but I got there at 4:30 and they only had 5 6 packs left, period! I have to say, they are ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC! Pastry is so flaky it falls as you're chowing down! The filling is just fantastic! Reading other Yelp reviews, I wish they'd brought the brownies and lemon bars, other vendors had other baked goods items! In addition, the womewho own it, 3 generations I think, are just the best! So kind, warm, friendly, even in the heat! They gave me 4 tarts FREE just to be nice! I highly recommend this establishment if you're in the area . I'll bet their sandwiches and other food is excellent too! Thank you ladies! Goddess of grammar is finished.... For now!

I'm Originally from Windsor and I used to LOVE Malics Mile high corned beef sandwiches. This reminded me of them but better! Portions are HUGE! I always get a mixed salad because who wants to choose between potato salad and pasta salad? Both are superb! I'm not sure if they use a sour cream or yogurt base for the potato salad, but it tastes light and airy versus a heavier mayo based salad. If it is mayo based, it's definitely light. It will fill you, without weighing you down. The pasta salad uses multiple noodle varieties. Don't forget the dill pickles. So yummy. 100% recommended to anyone in the area

Day one was a nice grilled pesto chicken wrap with goat cheese, but it was the southwest corn chowder that ruled the meal. Less hungry on day two, so I only bought the red lentil and apricot soup. I don't expect to be back this way anytime soon, but will certainly return here to dine again when I do.
