But I will exempt Somerville Parc because of how I've been treated and my great experience staying there. I lived in Somerville Parc for about a year. I would not have left if not only for my son's school location. There are a lot of positive things I can say about this place. The concierge is always available if I have questions or need help with repairs for my apartment. I love how secure the place is but at the same time easy access for deliveries. A very pet-friendly place. Which I love! But though I noticed a lot of dog owners, they still kept the surroundings clean. There's also an indoor dog park. Very useful especially if it's raining. The gym, though small, still has everything you need. It's also a nice area to run outdoors. I had a smooth move moving in and even a smoother move moving out. I got my security deposit within a month. Just amazing! If I need to be back in Jersey again and need a place to rent again, I will definitely go back to this place. And recommend it to anyone I know.

His friendly personality makes it easier to communicate in addition to his dedication to fix all issues. His wife Florinda is extremely helpful with any issues related to the apartment! And lastly, Miriam - Property Manager goes above and beyond to resolve any service or billing related matters. Over the past few months, the quality of tenants in the building has significantly declined. When we moved in, a detailed background check was required, now it seems that management is filling the apartments with anyone who walks in off the street. Noise levels have increased and people are hanging out at all hours of the night. Recently, there have been several car vandalisms in the lot, including one just last night, where all four tires were stolen from a vehicle. The building super is rude and denies any problems, but talk to any renter here and you will see behind the facade. We no longer feel safe here. Thankfully our lease will be up in a few months, and we will be getting out of here. Future renters - find somewhere else to live!

Our two bedroom / two bathroom apartment with a den is bright and very quiet. The development itself is beautifully landscaped and very well maintained. We enjoy the fact that the community is gated with very little car traffic. It's a great place for walking, and Duke Island Park is close by if you want more space to roam. The clubhouse includes an exercise room and business center, which are a great benefit and very convenient. There is even a multi-purpose room that can be rented out for events such as birthday parties. There are two charcoal grills to use, and the outdoor pool is clean and great fun for the summer. The complex is within walking distance of the town of Raritan and trains to New York. Somerville with its great restaurants is just a five minute drive. As with any apartment, sometimes things go wrong, but we have always found the property manager Dawn and maintenance man Dave to be quick to respond and address any issues. All in all it's a great community to live in.

The apartment lease does not have any clause that the landlord will do the maintenence, so it is up to the discreation of the landlord to do maintenece even for minor things like fixing kitchen faucet. The local apaprtment manager is very unfriendly. Several times I called for minor maintenence and the local manager (Kathy) charged me for the maintenece claiming that the damage was caused by me. Eventhough this place is close to the somerville train station and convenient to commute to new york, I do not recommend this place to anyone.
