This apartment is located in a very convenient area. You are in the middle of the little town of rahway which has bars and restaurants. The best part about the location is the convenience to the train (NJtransit) that takes 35-40 minutes to get you into NYC. It's a direct shot to Penn Station. Additionally, the train is only 4 stops to the Newark airport, which is very convenient for frequent travelers! Also, you're located in between Garden Sate parkway, and the turnpike and other close expressways.
In terms of the apartment, the 1 bdrm 1 bth located on an inside corner is where we are currently living. We've been here for 1 1/2 but are moving back to Michigan this month. Otherwise, we would continue living in this apartment. The apartment itself is very large and the Kitchen is VERY big and boast a lot of cabinet space. The ceilings are high. The bathroom is also large for an apartment, as is the bedroom. But, the best part is the VERY LARGE walk-in closet that is great for storage! Our balcony is also a plus! I really like our apartment, especially since it's a very new complex. The work-out center is nice also! I didn't give 5 stars bc I am not a fan of the train noise. The convenience outweights the noise though. Also, bc Rahway itselt is not the greatest town. I would give the town a 2-3. Rahway itself can be sketchy at times, but the complex is absolutely not! Rahway is located in a very industrial section of NJ bc of how close to the water it is. Jeff, the manager, is excellent and is extremely helpful! He'll help you with anything! The other issue that others may have are that parking is included but only for 1 vehicle. You would have to pay extra for an addition outside car space... I think it's $45/mo. Unless you want covered parking which is $75/mo.
Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here! It's expensive, but worth the money bc of the convenience factor. I would suggest the top floor. I never really heard any neighbors. Also, if you can, try and get an apartment that is facing a street and not the [arking lot in the back. There is a restaurant that opened up just recently in the parking area and while it's not busy by any means, on the weekends, all you hear are darn kids running around the patio being loud and annoying. It makes you want to shut your windows and balcony door. read more
