I am greatly impressed with the staff helping me get all things necessary to begin my new chapter in life with their community. Priscilla has answered my every little question and with great kindness. I am grateful to have been referred by another resident, and feel at ease to begin my residency knowing the office staff are kind and very helpful :)

The community is aesthetically pleasing, the apartments are beautiful and cozy, and the amenities included with the unit are worth the price in my opinion. However, the experience became unfavorable due to discriminatory behavior towards low-income renters and Section 8 recipients. Initially, I was informed that they accept Section 8 vouchers. I completed two applications and was initially told that my credit and income did not meet the criteria, which was conveyed to me before I informed Marta, the property manager, that I possess a Section 8 voucher. When I disclosed to her that I had a Section 8 voucher, she instructed me to fill out another application and submit my voucher with the application. I did so but didn't hear from her for days until I called her several times. She finally filled out the Landlord packet for the voucher but never confirmed with me that she had filled out and sent the voucher back to Section 8. I was informed by Linden Section 8 there was a potential landlord packet submitted. Linden Section 8 sent them an offer, which Marta refused due to a low offer. It is well-known that Section 8 does not pay market price for rent, so landlords who accept Section 8 vouchers should be aware of this. I felt misled and disappointed. Now I understand why there are numerous negative reviews regarding their property manager and leasing practices, as well as a high turnover rate for the community. It appears that Michael the maintenance manager, is the only highly respected individual at Lindcrest Apartments, and I was eager to meet him based on the numerous positive reviews about him. I intend to contact the mayor and Governor Murphy's office regarding Lindcrest Apartments.

Biggest DISAPPOINTMENT for such a beautiful building!…read more So I seen this building upon it being built and was super excited to visit when I learned I would be moving back to the area. Starting off, I must've called the main number several times just to try to schedule an appointment with a leasing agent- however to no avail no one would pick up the phone or call me back. I had to have a friend go to the building and reach out to someone on my behalf to have someone call me back. To be clear, I FLEW up here from out of state; the goal was to fly in, view the apartment and lock in one of the units - that's how I excited I was about moving in. I meet up with Nick (Director), whom took me on the showing. The first question I ask him is about parking; at which he delivers SUPER DISAPPOINTING news and tells me the parking is full- if I move in I would have to find parking on the street. I asked the ETA for parking to become available- he said there is none. 2K A MONTH AND THERE IS NO PARKING!????? He said both parking lots are full. I asked him about the new buildings being built - he said that parking will be for new tenants with 2 bedroom units only smh. Next- although the corner apartment was beautiful- there were no elevators near it! We had to walk down a really long hallway (seemed almost like a 10 min walk) just to get to the unit! Lastly, and most importantly I FELT LIKE I WAS BEING "PROFILED". I was asked what do I do for work, how long I been there, told I would have to have good credit and questioned about documentation for my pets even when I told the agent before I came in that I had the necessary documentation needed to secure this unit. He then told me in but so many words, the documentation for my pets needed to be legit as they are very strict. This was EXTREMELY INSULTING because I didn't know what other documentation he expected me to have!? The biggest question that you have to wonder is were these same questions being asked to "everyone"? Overall, as beautiful as this building is- it was not worth the price tag. FYI- the leasing agent "Jasper" asked me the same questions when I asked about Meridia in Linden. I asked him to call me so that we can have a "conversation" he told me that he could not call only text and then proceeded to ask me if I had good credit and did I work or was I a student. The leasing agents could use some training.

My boyfriend and I took a tour in the summer of 2020. Let's just say we fell in love with the…read moreproperty. It was clean, sophisticated and was 2 blocks away from the NJ Transit. At the time they were offering 2 months free to use in the beginning of your lease and allowed us to hold the apartment for 2 1/2 months until we were ready to move in. We moved in August 2020 and from that day on we noticed some unpleasant surprises about the property. - The gym was closed for 2 months with no amenity fee reimbursement. - The amenities closes at 7pm everyday because the maintenance staff leaves work at 7pm. This does not give the residents who work from home late or travel from work enough time to enjoy the amenities. - The apartment appliances and paint on the walls are cheap. Our cabinet door in the bathroom suddenly came off, the paint on the walls are easily damaged with 1 touch and our shower faucet broke while I was taking a shower. - the bedroom door constantly becomes loose and squeaky. -There is not enough guest parking. - The elevators are ALWAYS broke you have to walk through the garage to get out the building. - you have to pay an extra amenity fee for the business center. (Non sound proof private rooms, and this amenity fee can be added at anytime but not removed). - if you don't live on the top floor, you will hear your neighbors foot steps above you. Which is very disturbing. - While in the business center, I can hear the weights from the gym banging from the first floor. Mind you the business center is on the second floor. -The management experience can be much better. The maintenance team RJ and Kevin makes this experience worth it because they are always helping and making sure the residents are comfortable. Some Pros to the building are: - Luxe package - the residents - transportation -A lot of cabinet space - Quiet - The apartment is not half bad, one of the nicest apartments I have seen. - A few great restaurants and stores in the neighborhood. - Linden Clark and Elizabeth is 5 minutes away and you have access to ShopRite, Target, Starbucks, Homegoods, Wholefoods and other great stores. -The trash rooms are surprisingly clean.

Someone's earlier post from 6 months ago said the amenities are closed but before I moved in, they opened up until 7pm (closing early to disinfect during COVID). While the rent is a bit high during the pandemic, they are offering leasing promotions that make it a little more manageable. I grew up in Rahway but closer to the middle school so being downtown is a nice change, especially being within walking distance of so many restaurants and other small businesses. I would recommend this building to others.

They are the newest buildings in this…read morecomplex because, I found out after I signed the lease, that the buildings that were here burned to the ground 3 or 4 years ago. I think I know why but I've been here for 1 week and here's what's going on. We went to the leasing office 5 days before our move-in date to pay our security deposit and 1st month's rent. We didn't think we would get the keys until move in day but we wanted all the paperwork out of the way so all we had to do was pick up the keys. The office staff would not let us sign the lease nor would they take our checks. They did let us look at the place and we found a live electrical outlet without a cover and roaches. We took the keys back to the office and told them. On move-in day, it took almost an hour to do the paperwork and get keys - all the while we were paying movers to stand there and wait on us. We opened the door, killed 3 roaches and the live electrical outlet was still unprotected. Maintenance responded pretty quick after I called them on day 2 and put a cover on the outlet - exterminators came on Wednesday, Day 3, and said it would take a couple of days to work. Today is day 4 after the spraying and we're still killing roaches. I think the spray just pissed them off. Day 3 - Gas was turned off because the tenants before us didn't pay their bill. We had to get a verification of residency which we didn't get until Friday, day 5 of the move and it was after 430 the afternoon before Memorial Day. The best we can hope for a hot shower, cooking and drying clothes again is probably going to be around June 6 or 7. The Gas company couldn't even find our address without the meter numbers. Also, we went to put some dishes in the dishwasher and pulled on the door and the whole dishwasher came out from under the counter. Another service request. Day 4 - Unplugged the hair dryer and the GFCI outlet that is supposed to trip if there is a short, started sizzling and the outlet did not trip. I had to turn off the breaker to kill it. Maintenance responded pretty quick but the guy who responded to change the outlet knew about as much about electricity as I know about brain surgery (I work in construction). He almost burned the place down and they finally sent an electrician on day 5. I also tried to connect my cable boxes to the TVs upstairs. Finally called customer service and after all the things they could do, told me the in-wall outlets were apparently not connected to anything. Day 5 - Electrician is here re-wiring the bathroom outlet with a maintenance guy. I asked maintenance about the cable outlets and after some head scratching, it was determined the cable hanging from the ceiling in the laundry room, is the cable that is supposed to be in the wall and connected to the cable outlets. That's another service request we need to do. Day 6, 7 and 8 (Saturday, Sunday and Monday Memorial Day) cold showers, eating in restaurants for every meal unless you want a sandwich or cold cereal. This is not good.
