The staff are welcoming and friendly. We had a big group with little kids. They served us very well. We all ordered pizza. The crust is thin and crisp. I love Villa Zuccaro pizza with a touch of truffle. They have small tables and big tables, an indoor private room.

Great straight out of the fridge 36 hours later.

Who would have thought that one of our, if not our, best meal so far in our current trip to Italy would have come in a rather touristy town. At home touristy towns are typically not great food destinations, but Villa Ziccaro totally blows that myth out of the water. We'd give it 6 stars if we could. The place was packed for a Sunday night, wait staff bustling around, clearly well trained, and know their stuff! We were immediately seated and taken care of the entire time. We ordered Taormina salad, not knowing really what it was, some wine and a pizza. We asked that the salad come first, and the pizza to wait until after we had finished our salad, which doesn't seem to happen often. It did tonight and we couldn't have been more pleased. There were five good sized pieces of anchovy filet on top of the salad, which we haven't seen before. The lovely K likes a bit of anchovy in my Caesar salad, but this appeared to almost be too much. I took all but one, and ate all but one. I've got to say they were so good! Why can't we get anchovy like this at home. The turntable pizza oven is great, the service is outstanding, the wine is good and the pizza was fantastic. We wish were staying for a few days so we could return, but alas we are only here for two nights.

terrible crust , topping just okay

Wow this restaurant was (unfortunately) shit. From the terrible service to the food - management needs to retrain their staff asap. We've been all over italy and europe so have ample experience w/ proper restaurant etiquette. I was hopeful that the food would redeem experience, but the caprese consisted of one basil leaf & and unripe tomato. The napoletatas had a mouth-hurting crust so hard it was unpalatable. This was sad bc we enjoy eating good pizza crusts. The house wine was the only star - full liter for 12Euros. In reading the other reviews I'm not sure if my experience was an outlier or if other reviewers simply don't have a good palate.

This was an absolutely perfect lunch. Our only issue was...one pie or two? We went with two, as most people seemed to be doing, and while it was probably more than we needed, it was worth every extra super full bite. The pizza is so cheap, so well done, and is cooked outside in a gigantic oven...you honestly can't go wrong with whatever you pick. It's the perfect example of what a Sicilian pizza should be. The only issue you'll have is figuring out which one you should get. We got one pizza with mozzarella and prosciutto, and one with eggplant and smoked ricotta salata. Both amazing, both worth ordering again. Pizza, paired with some delicious house wine, on a sunny, warm afternoon in Taormina...what could be better? (Nothing - the answer is nothing.)

This place is a gem of Taormina. It is surprisingly Difficult to get good food in Taormina. This place at least tries. Their pizza was the best I had in Sicily. They don't try to scam you on the tourist price and the place is nice. Go here for pizza

A really nice sweet smelling ,rustic villa ristorante in scenic Taormina. Our friend told us to dine here, and he was right on with a direct bullseye. We dined alfresco and the delightful aroma of food and frangipani encompassed us throughout our stay. Do order the Antipasto Rustico if you like cold cuts, cheeses, and vegetables. See menu, one of the best I've had. The pizza, with salmon was very tasty and great with perfectly made crust, yes crust. The ambiance was beautiful, situated up high. You have to walk up a steep hill to get there.

Great location, good pizza and wonderful fast service. It's a gem in Taormina center... a beautiful patio with lots of green, plants and trees... u need a reservation otherwise would be impossible to sit and have dinner.. super nice hostess, well organized... lots of people and table but service was fast and amazing. Lots of pizzas choices... white, red, specials... wine and beer as well.. again... beautiful location and amazing pizza. Very tasty and fresh ingredients... a must to try in Taormina. See you soon

I had reservations at all of the big name restaurants in town (swordfish, norma, granita, blah blah) and none of them compare to this place. My wife and I went almost everyday. The fact that this place isn't busting from the seems when you can see a line at bambam around to corner is laughable - I promise, you will see it having down time, go in and get a ragu arancini, the cheese slice is surprisingly excellent, prosciutto and mushroom slice also very good. Bambam is good if you like granitas, but my experience is that it's a tourist trap and the staff is cringeworthingly annoyed if you ask a question. Christina has way better prices, a bunch of good options, is efficient if you have lots of activities planned and need a spot to in/out quickly, and the staff is friendly. Very grateful we found this place early. There is also a focaccia spot up the street with a similar story - Limoncello spritz and focaccia (don't think theyre connected but 8$ focaccia that is light and fresh, workers are also very friendly). While we were there, saw so many people pass by, glance and walk out likely because it didn't have the glamour of a long line, trust a stranger that researched sicily for months before coming, don't make that mistake here. Chuck 3$ of your likely thousands budget, gamble and youll know exactly what I mean. Not suggesting you don't try to Taormina specialties, try everything, but this place is a great pillar spot for quick/delicious food if you're staying for more than a few days.

Thanks to the trusty Yelp app, giving us guidance through-out our trip through Italy we stumbled upon Vecchia Taormina. Admittedly, we walked past the entrance as the numbering system of Corso Umberto is decidedly "different" in a few spots. Eventually, we honed in on the alley entrance and found ourselves on a charming terrace, flanked by old buildings, covered with large patio umbrellas and the delicious smells of wood-oven pizza wafting out. It couldn't have been more quintessentially Italian...with children running through, families opening and closing doors, neighbors calling to each other...it was the perfect atmosphere. In all our time in Italy, we hadn't seen mozzarella sticks on any menu (right!? haha, so American we are) but we weren't expecting them either. Queue Vecchia Taormina who served up delightfully fresh balls of fried mozzarella. Lightly, lightly fried - such fresh cheese, light hand with the breading ... delicious. Then, we ordered two pies...two gigantic pies. We probably should have shared, but with the plethora of options (50+ pizzas!!!) screaming for attention on the menu...we had to try at least a couple. We ordered a Funghi and a Patate..first time I've had potato on a pizza and certainly not the last after the brilliance of this pizza. The dough was perfection...the white sauces creamy and balanced...the ingredients fresh...just the perfect bites of pizza. The house wines (I tried rose and JT tried the white) were also amazing...no need to order more expensive bottles when the house wines are already so satisfying. Great spot, hidden gem - good for couples and families alike.
