We grabbed a seat by the door. Our server was friendly. We looked over the menu and decided to to start with some tequenos. We placed our app order while we kept looking for our mains. Our tequenos came out first and looked great. They were served with two sauces that were quite flavorful. We both enjoyed our appetizer. We then placed our order for a chicken salad arepa and a cachapa with picanha steak for our main meals. Our cachapa came out about 5 minutes after we ordered. It looked good, but sadly it was cold. Both the pancake and the steak were cold. It wasn't fresh and wasn't reheated properly. It was pretty disappointing. We waited another 10-15 minutes and our areap came out. Thankfully, this one was hot and prepared correctly. The flavor was good and we both enjoyed it. Overall, our first visit was a bit disappointing. Being served cold and reheated food that wasn't even warm was less than ideal. I don't see us returning.

We tried: empanadas, arepas and the cachapa, since the owner mentioned they are really good and I'm very picky about Cachapas since I consider mine are the best. Well, the service was pleasant, the owner's daughter did the majority of the job and then the grandmother arrived to start cooking. I didn't like the food, probably because I cook a lot, but they fried our arepas, HUGE mistake, my husband ordered with pernil and he didn't like the flavor, mine The Reina pepiada, tooo much mayonnaise, no flavor in the chicken and the mixture was made just right away so it was not well prepared. The empanadas where ok and of course I didn't like the cachapas at all. No taste of sweet corn. I wish the best since it is a family business but honestly it needs better recipes and not excuses to prepared them accordingly.

Seguro vamos a regresar, no hay muchos lugares que venden una buena comida venezolana entonces estoy feliz de haber encontrado a antojitos! The food was great! The prices were reasonable and the portions were adequate. The lady who attended us was very sweet as well. We are definitely going to come back, there aren't many places that sell good Venezuelan food so I'm happy to have found antojitos!

Luckily, while visiting a relative in St. Pete, we discovered we were just a block away from 11 Chicks Venezuelan Restaurant. My brother had been hyping this place up ever since he moved to St. Petersburg, so it was an absolute no-brainer to finally check it out. Wow -- I'm officially ruined for all other food. I ordered the Cachapa (a sweet corn pancake folded around a ridiculous amount of melted cheese), and because I have no self-control, I added chicharrón. Game over. That crunchy, porky goodness took it to another stratosphere. We also split the Chick #1 Carne Asada -- a smaller arepa absolutely stuffed with tender, juicy grilled steak. Don't let the size fool you; it was surprisingly filling and perfectly seasoned. The food alone would have been enough to win me over, but the customer service sealed the deal. Everyone was so warm and welcoming -- it genuinely felt like eating at a family member's house. Curious about the name, I asked the story behind "11 Chicks." Turns out the owners grew up in a house with 11 women (mothers, sisters, aunts -- the whole crew), and everyone pitched in to turn their dream into this incredible restaurant. Such a cool, heartfelt backstory. If you're anywhere near St. Petersburg, do yourself a favor and go to 11 Chicks. I'm already plotting my next visit... and maybe moving my brother closer to it isn't off the table.

This is my new spot in the burg. A few things the restaurant is very small with a few seats inside and outside. Also, there was a bit of a wait because of the lunchtime rush so I recommend you order your food in advance. If you already know what you want, if it's your first time like myself going in is probably the best bet. Just make sure you have some time to wait. In my opinion, if they expand the restaurant to a bigger spot, they would kill it in Saint Pete. Can't wait to come back and try the empanadas and the other dishes that they have. The guy in the front was sweet and welcoming as well.

After looking at reviews on Yelp, we decided to check out Alma Llanera in St Pete. We made the drive and were welcomed when we walked in. They have a great overall selection on their menu, a variety of authentic Venezuelan dishes you can dig in to. Really, we were craving empanadas - but we are eager to try more dishes next time. We ordered three carne mechada empanadas (shredded beef hand pies), one cheese empanada, and two mora natural juices. Each orderaccompanied with a side of their house sauces that compliment the natural on-going flavors of the empanda - a creamy, white garlic sauce (salsa de ajo) and a cilantro based sauce (salsa de cilantro). The moment you sink you teeth into their empanadas, you're brought to a whole new world - A country called Venezuela! You are instantly met were explosive delicious flavors. The outter shell of the empanada has this savory, with a slight hint of sweet flavor. The inner part is stuffed with tender, satuéed shredded beef, you can taste the amazing flavors of the sofrito based meat. I would recommend anyone, someone who has yet to try this place to someone who eats empanadas on a daily basis, to come on and give them a whirl. It's a must try!

Food 7 of 10 ( Venezuelan bbq was really good and tasty chorizos were delicious, sides were really well Cooked and flavory, Brazilian picanha was cooked perfect, chimichurri sauce was perfect but amount was very little, and cachapas were the weakest point.. cachapa had an old or musty aftertaste definitely horrible won't recommend it. After arriving and sitting down next to a couple of ladies (more about one of those ladies next..) not knowing where to place the order, I have decided to stand up and order what we came to eat "Shawarma" and we were greeted by a person inside the food truck that simply said "We don't take credit card payment here, it is Cash or Zelle" to which I agreed! When trying to make the cash payment I noticed that the Menu only showed ONE (1) price for the Shawarma of $14.99 and various combinations (not well specified) So I asked if one of the combinations could be with chicken & falafel and the person said "ok" but when proceeding to charges me stated that the price would be $42 (for the shawarma and "pepito" of $18.99)...Inmediately the math wasn't adding up! When I asked "why that much" is when the person proceeded to explain that the "falafel" was separate and had an up charge! (Something the person should have said when I asked for that combination instead of waiting until I asked why the short change back)...Not enough with that, when I had ask to just have the one main ingredient instead of the combination (again, up charge Not stated in their menu!). The person still shorted me with the change and said "when you come back for the food I'll give you the rest" (a few more dollars that they didn't seem to have in a venue that mainly accepts cash as a payment option!?)...The worst came after I sat down on the table to discuss all of this with my wife and one of the ladies sitting right next to us and that seemed to be one of the owners, started eavesdropping and proceeded to bully us, raising his voice in anger about "taxes being charged" and with her hands up in the air wouldn't even respond to when I had asked her "who she was and why was she getting in the middle of our conversation" she kept flailing and raising her voice! At this point I thought she couldn't have been the owner since what kind of business owner would act this way to customers without ever asking "what seemed to be the problem?" At least! Instead when I said that the person inside the food truck had made me come back a few times for my right change she responded with her hands flying up in the air that she didn't care and that wasn't important! My wife begged me to leave by how horrendous that scene was! I picked up the food and decided to ask for my receipt and there it was besides the local taxes charged a POS charged when I had payed cash and no POS was used! At least none in front of me!....Business owners should never treat customers this way! Maybe is a cultural thing or not but not in the US! Worst experience of my life at a place to eat!
