From the first welcome accompanied by a cup of peppermint tea, to the calming music and beautifully appointment treatment rooms, everything is carefully thought about so you can spend time focussing on being relaxed. A massage here is exceptional, with the therapists obviously holding a high amount of training and experience. Sore legs? They'll spend more time on those when you tell them beforehand. A little knot in your left shoulder? Don't worry, they'll find it and gently knead it out. Don't worry about walking out feeling like an oil slick as they'll use hot towels to remove excess oil before giving you an oil-free face massage. This small attention to detail is what sets more expensive massages apart from cheaper alternatives. And it's not just massage they do well at East Day Spa. I've had facials and pedicures and every time I've walked away feeling relaxed and happy knowing I got exactly what I hoped for. In my eyes, that's money well spent.

I was given light clothes to change into and asked to lay on the massage table. The Thai Massage therapy involves deep tissue massage using pressure points and gentle stretching. The massage was very relaxing and reminded me of Balinese massage in its style, with no oil and no nudity (perfect if you are a bit shy or do not want skin contact). It is rare that I love a place to the point of saying "I will come back even without a voucher" but Bann Thai is one of them. I encourage you to give them a try!

Three weeks later we turned up and the owner accused of not showing up for the incorrect first booking, and attempted to charge us a $25 rescheduling fee (not previously disclosed over the phone). After explaining what happened, she was obstinate and accused me of lying about the booking after she "checked her records again", and told me how I had made a last minute booking and had to be charged - I have call logs to confirm my side of the story, but she refused to listen and was unbelievably rude. The place appears to run on very thin margins and their policies and attitude reflect this. Cheap and disingenuous. We will never be back and will tell anyone who will listen of our awful experience.

My tutor was a young funky woman who was incredibly friendly and chatty so even though I was the only customer in the store I was instantly put at ease. She also mixed my foundation there and then for me - unlike most cosmetics stores, Phoenix tailor make/mix their foundations to suit your skin tone. No more putting up with a lighter shade and using darker powder to get the right colour! As well as having a store stocked with eyeshadows, lipsticks, powders, brushes and foundation and providing make-up tutorials, Phoenix also provide eyebrow shaping and tinting services, spray tans and can do make-up for special events like balls and weddings at a very reasonable price. Bonus: As in other cosmetic stores, when you purchase a make-up tutorial or opt to have your make up done for a special occasion, the amount is fully redeemable on product.

I missed two appointments due to unexpected circumstances when i called the store to apologize, the owner picked up. She was so RUDE and disgusting towards me on the phone, i physically had to go visit the store to put a face to the name. As i started expressing my concerns to her as a customer, before i could even finish speaking, she just looked me straight in the eyes in front of all the customers and yelled at me to 'LEAVE' three times and said she doesn't want me in the store. She obviously felt very defensive when i expressed my opinion, and had no response but to try humiliate me. It's quite funny to be honest because her business will suffer from her behavior. I feel bad for her as she must have a very troubled and stressed life to treat another human being with such disrespect. I've never experienced such poor behavior and lack of humility before in my life. But i refuse to let such an petty and clearly unhappy woman to ruin my day so i strongly suggest to everyone reading this, not to bother stepping foot into that business unless you want to spoil your day.
