This was the highlight of our trip to Italy in terms of restaurants. It was not simply the expertly prepared regional cuisine, but the warm hospitality of the owner who explained each dish on the menu with a deep knowledge and passion seldom matched. We took his recommendations to heart and started with piadina served with soft local cheese and fig jam. My husband had the pasta course of tagliatelle bolognese, while I fell in absolute love with tortellini in butter and sage, and my daughter lapped up the al brodo with tortellini, pronouncing it the best broth she had ever had, except for her dad's, because she is a loyal and sweet child. Favio, the owner and our expert guide helped my husband choose beef cheeks, rather than a chicken course, knowing that would be more of a rarity for us. It was succulent and moist, with amazing texture and flavor. We ended our meal with coffee and my daughter was served two desserts, one on the house, each delicious, but the chocolate cake stole the show. Just when we thought we had ended the meal our host arrived with a bottle of house made green walnut liqueur that was complimentary. Truly a dining experience to remember. I would return to Bologna for this restaurant given any opportunity to do so. Thank you to the owner for such a memorable experience! read more
