There's no shortage of good pizza spots in Bologna, but what separates Berbere is its sourdough crust and its selective use of local ingredients. Sourdough makes the crust crispy on the outside and soft/chewy in the inside--a winning, and most desirable combination! Not sure about GF diners, but there certainly are options for vegetarian and dairy-free palettes. Service is quick and cheerful, no unnecessary frills. Pizzas come sliced with the explicit intention of sharing.
Four stars simply because it is not, in my opinion, the best pizza to be had in Bologna. (And, truth be told, there's at least one spot in the US that I find yummier!) But...when in Bologna, certainly give Berbere a go. read more
