The views and the wine are equally spectacular. The service could have been much better considering we were the only ones here on a Tuesday afternoon. We had to keep asking for the next wine in our tasting. The Nebbiolo Paoloni is a must. I bought multiple bottles to take home.

Of the three wineries we visited on our Baja Wine tour, this was my favorite wine. They focus on Italian varietals using vines that they brought over from Italy and planted here. They've got some really great montepulciano which I bought to take home and enjoy. Careful though - you may be in Mexico but the prices look more like NAPA! I guess that's true for most of valle Guadalupe though. . Still the wine here is the one I least minded paying a pretty price for, as the quality definitely justified it. The tasting room itself is is fairly simple and non-gimmicky. It's a lovely second story room with big windows featuring a gorgeous view of the vineyards and mountains, with an adjoining patio perfect for cool spring or autumn afternoons. I'd definitely come back.

This was our first stop on our 3 day journey into the heart of Mexican wine country. Great views and selections. We went with the Winemaker's Suggestion tasting. It included a Sangiovese grosso, Nero d'Avola, Nebbiolo and Nerone (the owner is Italian so they really dig the Italian varietals). We had heard that winemakers here by and large do a lot of blends so we were especially excited to try the Nebbiolo which is a standalone. If we had had more time there I would have loved to have tried the Sangiovese Rose as well.

we went on a baja wine tour...this was the first of 5 places we visited. The establishment was very simple in decor.... The wine was anything but simple...loved the wine here! it was the best tasting we had all day. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful...\ the outside patio had a beautiful view of the vineyards lot's of space for groups, but not crowded at all. there was a variety of tasting price points. the bottles were more like US prices, but i still purchased a bottle. from what i was told...the vines were brought here from Italy...so Italian grapes that are growing in Baja California

*ENGLISH REVIEW: This was our first stop on our day trip to el Valle de Guadalupe, and it was great! We got our temp taken in the front, and masks are required when walking and not at your table. The views are absolutely fantastic, and the vibe here is very relaxed. Staff were super friendly and the restrooms were clean and tidy. We tried 3 wines: rosé, Chardonnay, and a red blend. All were fantastic, but the rosé was my favorite. It was very light and fresh. The bottles are super inexpensive, at about $20 USD. If you pay in pesos, they are a bit cheaper so plan ahead if you want to take some back to the states. Be adviced you can only cross about a bottle and a half back per person though, so 3 bottles per 2 people. With part of our tasting we also got some small bite sized snacks (forgot the proper name of them) that were delicious! See photo attached. This is a definite must go to stop if you are in the area. Everything was beautiful!

    Welcome

The wines are ok but the tranquil vibe is awesome. The staff is attentive. I tasted all the wines and the only ones that was nice was the Rosato, but still not excellent-but barely good

What a beautiful winery! We had a lovely experience at Montefiori and seriously enjoyed the wines. I did the extended tasting that came with a wine glass and my friend did the 2nd most expensive tasting that way we could try a little of what the other had as well. I immediately fell in love with the Brunelo, what a smooth yet complex wine, just fabulous! It was a surprise to have so many Italian varietals of wine in Baja, but we loved them all. Our sommelier offered us some wonderful fresh cheese and baguette, which was such a treat with our tastings. The patio and view over the Valle and vineyards was amazing, such a wonderful experience. Our hosts were fabulous, the wines were delicious and the surroundings are amazing, can't wait to return!

Great views of The Valley and the Mountains while you enjoy some of the best Mexican Italians wines in all of mexico. Must come and try these delicious wines

    Hello, Gorgeous

Go for the Selezionato and stay for the ridiculous view. While you're at it, try the Nebbiolo and Rosso di Montefiori. Took a couple of bottles home and enjoyed them thoroughly. Be sure to take some time to sit out on the upper patio and take in the vista. If you're lucky, you might be able to catch one of the futbol games right out front. Goooool!

The roof is literally made of old fishing boats flipped upside down over the cellar. The owner is a retired ship captain, so once you walk inside it all clicks. It's funky and a little weird, and I loved it. Our host was a gem. Knowledgeable, attentive, generous, and so into what he was pouring that he kept slipping us extras to try beyond our tasting. We tried some of their natural wines, and I LOVED them. The orange wine, especially. They reminded me of a good sour beer, kind of funky and tart, and I was very into it. Heads up, though: the rest of my group of four hated them. Natural wines are a love them or leave them situation. After our tasting, we hung out on the grounds and grabbed food from the Troika food truck out front, and honestly, we could have stayed all afternoon. The whole place is so unhurried, and after two more buttoned-up tastings, it was exactly what I needed. Different from the others, not better or worse. I really enjoyed the wine and the whole hangout, and I'll absolutely be back on our next trip.

Martin was our sommelier and he took incredible care of us, speaking English so that most of our group could follow along. We ordered small bites that were simply indulgent: each bite was hand crafted onsite and tasted phenomenal. We weren't rushed and took our time enjoying the 5-lable tasting. We wandered the grounds and soaked in the incredible scenery along the valley, the rolling hills filled with vineyards and punctuated with lavender to make the whole experience something out of a storybook. Martin took the time to help some in our party who had never before done a tasting, which was really helpful for me (not a novice but nowhere close to a pro). The wines were delicious, made all the more flavorful as learned the notes beforehand so our palates could get the cheat code. Even though there are so many wineries left to discover on The Wine Route in Ensenada, we would definitely return to Vino Xecue because the experience was simply unforgettable.

Location was gorgeous and wine was pretty good- tasting was expensive and they poured enough for one sip only. The food was great, but also expensive for such small portions. You'd think after the dogs making me bleed there'd be some generous pours or something- but nope! Some of the tastings were under a single ounce. Overall gorgeous location and great tasting wine and food- but won't be returning due to the outrageously small portions, expensive price, and dining experience with biting and begging dogs.

But over the last two decades they have made large strides in quality with new modernization techniques. Besides all of the wine makers that have been here for generations, others (Spain, France, and Italy) from around the world have joined in wine making in the area. The area has all of the basic ingredients (proper climate and soil) needed to make great wine. The area sits in the same latitude as the great wine making areas of the Mediterranean. As a result, now I am a big fan of the area's wine. Now many compare the area to Tuscany Italia before the big tourist rush occurred. The greater area is also home to many Michelin rated restaurants with a great ocean/farm to table menu (carta). Organic and sustainability are fully represented in restaurants as well. If you love seafood, then this place is heaven because of the abundance of fresh seafood from both the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific. I predict that once the new airport in Ensenada is built then this place is going to explode with tourism. Currently, having to fly into Tijuana then take a bus or private transport has been the only way to reach this area from most places in the US with the exception of southern California. People in southern California are lucky enough to drive down for a weekend because it's just that close to them. It's the equivalent of people from Chicago spending a weekend in wine country in Michigan, Indiana, or Wisconsin. In all honesty there is no comparison because most wine in the Midwest is mediocre at best. The problem in the Midwest is the climate extremes which are not suitable to most popular wine varietals. Even when I do find wine from the Midwest that I like, it usually has at least $50-$60 price tag. At a typical grocery store in Spain or Portugal very good bottle of wine is sometimes cheaper than a bottle of water! Under $10 a bottle pricing gets you very good wine, above that you can have even better quality. The winery is beautiful even in the winter. I like to visit in the winter because although it's not super warm here, I go from wearing a winter jacket to wearing a light jacket or sweater. The nights can drop into the 40s which is still much better than a winter polar vortex back home. There is a lot less people, therefore, I can also get into the best restaurants in the area. My rental flat had absolutely no neighbors until the last day when it was time to leave. The isolation was very nice because the grounds are beautiful and very full of life. A huge assortment of birds make this their winter getaway from the harsh winters up north. Citrus fruit was in season down here and the neighboring property had an orchard of trees filled with oranges. The property has a few nice pathways to walk after mealtimes. I also enjoyed the outdoor wine tour which explores the different varietals fields with an enthusiastic guide that was quick witted with jokes. The wine pourings that accommodate the tour were delicious and wisely chosen. I also opted to take the wine cave tour right after the outside tour. How was the cave tour? It was disappointing and frustrating. First of all, as I patiently waited to be taken down to the cave from their gift shop area they forgot about me. They have a list of who is supposed to go down and yet they still went down without everyone?!? Finally a cashier notices that I'm just walking around not shopping and asked me if I was waiting for someone. I told him that I was waiting for the cave tour to begin. He got a hold of the tour guide who had already gone down with some of the group and he came up to retrieve us. Those that were already in the cave, already had been served food that was optional to order with the tasting. After several pourings in the previous tour, yes, I was ready to have some food to lessen the impact of more pourings. Also, they had a nice selection of items that would complement the pourings. Somehow, they forgot about me again, and I noticed others were getting a different presentation than I was on the same tour. Okay, now a sense of frustration is overcoming me and I mention the oversights to the guide. He lied to me and told me that the others had a different level of wine tasting. This disorganized tour was also set up backwards because there should have been a walking tour of the fermentation area first then tastings afterwards. Besides the bad cave tour that I definitely don't recommend. Everything else was great with the exception of the cold washroom on cold nights. They have very nice employees, beautiful grounds, very good breakfast, and a great dinner restaurant called Latitude on the property. Would I come back? Yes, because besides a few frustrating moments the rest was great.

Thankfully i got wifi, replied that we would love to be there, got a reply saying we were good to go and off we went. I will thank our luck a large amount on the weather as many people cancelled due to pouring rain and flooded roads. The roads are rough, especially in the rain so a larger vehicle or a tour driver would definitely be beneficial but we made it happen. Upon arrival we were greeted with hugs, conversation, drinks and blankets and it honestly felt like we just showed up to the home of a family member. With the weather, it ended up just being the two of us and another couple who drove out for the day and previously was married at the vineyard which made for the most intimate afternoon tasting. My fiancé (oh that's still weird to say haha) is not really a wine drinker and I don't usually drinks reds but we both loved all 3 years of the tasting and the tapas that come with each were so delicious. One of the pairings was a taco with meat that I don't eat so I gave it to him and was more than thankful when Hilda noticed and asked her team to make a potato taco for me to take part. With the impeccable vibes, Carlos decided this was the right time and place and completely unbeknownst to me he had let James and Hilda know about his plan and they assisted in the greatest intimate proposal I could have ever dreamed of, rain and chilly temperatures and all. After our tasting we all spoke around the table like we had known each other for years and it really was the most special day and experience I could have ever asked for. We will definitely be back sooner than later, especially since we both fell in love with not only the humans on site but vineyard good boy Corcho. Thank you both for your hospitality, I honestly can't express it enough.
