Shout out to Ana at the front desk, who was so kind, nice and really helpful. She made my check-in…read moreso easy.
This is a gorgeous and historic hotel. It was one of the first hotels in Kitzbühel and it's architecturally really beautiful. I love the spiral staircase inside and all the fresco painted walls. They have a good breakfast in the morning and it's included with the room rate. You have your choice of cooked to order eggs (omelette, scrambled, poached) with bacon or ham, and there is a full buffet with cereal, yogurt, breads, juice, juices, and things like that. You can also order a coffee, cappuccino, tea, etc. The hotel staff are super and very polite.
If you stay here, take some time to walk up each of the floors to see all the different paintings on the walls. There are dogs and peacocks and dragons and all kinds of little details. Every floor also has different painted antique carvings of religious icons and animals. Even the door handles and the locks are intricate and beautiful.
You can't beat the location as it's right in the center of town and it's within walking distance (about 10 minutes) of the gondola for the Hahnehkamm (which means "rooster comb"in German), the world famous racing ski run and mountain.
Some of the rooms have really fantastic views with balconies. I had booked a single room and it had a balcony with a great view. Bathrooms are immaculate and tiled with a bath and shower combo and the toiletries smell great.
You can buy your ski tickets at the front desk and don't forget to ask for the discount card which gives you 20% off at one of the local shops for boot and ski rental.
I wouldn't book a room with a courtyard view as you will probably be disappointed unless you really don't like views because the rooms with balconies and views are just so outstanding.
