I seldom write reviews. Our experience at A-Rosa Resort in Kitzbuhel warrants my effort here…read more After a long day skiing the stunning Austrian Alps, we melted into the relaxing sauna and steam rooms, followed by a dip in the indoor/outdoor pool. On a chilly star-lit night, the heated outdoor pool was wonderful, after a relaxing massage. The food was a pleasant surprise, with an array of options suitable for international travelers plus an assortment of local cuisine for the adventurous palate. We spent a day in the charming village of Kitzbuhel, which is only a half mile walk from the resort. The amenities and staff at A-Rosa helped make up for unfortunately poor snow conditions during our stay (global warming is real). I recommend A-Rosa with no hesitation.

This a perfect resort and spa to spend the summer relaxing or winter skiing…read more Unfortunately the weather was too mild in December to ski, but the hotel and Kitzbühel are beautiful. The lounge area is phenomenal and looks so chic, and a great place to wind down after a day skiing or sightseeing. The bedrooms are designed wonderfully and the bathroom with the walk in shower was great. The spa is great and has a range of amenities, such as sauna and a pool that leads outside. It is the perfect place to relax. Tea is offered to guests to aid their relaxation. One can rent ski equipment at the hotel. Breakfast was amazing, offering a full breakfast buffet and champagne. All cooked to perfection, especially the omelettes! Room service was convenient but the food (burger and crisps) was nothing out of the ordinary.

Excellent 4 stars hotel: from warm and welcome fireplace lobby with complimentary lemon water…read moredispenser, full breakfast, indoor pool with complimentary bottle water, fresh apples. The room had only one queen bed so preferred a king or double beds for the 4 of us. They finally sent up the extra bed after 2nd nights. Despite the rainy weather since we been here, I am sure the view would be spectacular. We sure made use of the indoor pool given the gloomy weather. We dine at the main restaurant. The ambience was warm and cozy without being over done with wood mountain theme. Expect most dishes to be 22 euros and up. The soup are 8 euors. However the tiriamisu for 12 euros is kinda pricey. I liked the separate toilet room from the shower and the rain style shower head was great. Also, the bathrobes and slippers are great touches. On our walk they even provided umbrellas. I think this is the nicest 4 stars hotels(we have stayed many in the states) we have stayed especially in Europe since most are tiny and even at same price. Given the fact that summer is lower season for this ski resort area so priced were reasonable. This hotel truly lives up to being a 4 stars providinf luxury touches without charging. Well the mini bar is charged. The toiletries are larger than most hotels. They also have a spa. I am blown away by the complimentary breakfast! Most hotels provide simple hot and cereals. They have the full blown fancy with champagne, fresh juices, tea, yogurts, cut fruits, breads, croissant (even chocolate filled), sliced salmon, so many teas to choose from. It reminded me of the variety from cruises. I would highly recommend this hotel for a holiday or getaway.

Hotel Goldener Greif - Take some time to look at all the different paintings on each floor on the walls.

Shout out to Ana at the front desk, who was so kind, nice and really helpful. She made my check-in…read moreso easy. This is a gorgeous and historic hotel. It was one of the first hotels in Kitzbühel and it's architecturally really beautiful. I love the spiral staircase inside and all the fresco painted walls. They have a good breakfast in the morning and it's included with the room rate. You have your choice of cooked to order eggs (omelette, scrambled, poached) with bacon or ham, and there is a full buffet with cereal, yogurt, breads, juice, juices, and things like that. You can also order a coffee, cappuccino, tea, etc. The hotel staff are super and very polite. If you stay here, take some time to walk up each of the floors to see all the different paintings on the walls. There are dogs and peacocks and dragons and all kinds of little details. Every floor also has different painted antique carvings of religious icons and animals. Even the door handles and the locks are intricate and beautiful. You can't beat the location as it's right in the center of town and it's within walking distance (about 10 minutes) of the gondola for the Hahnehkamm (which means "rooster comb"in German), the world famous racing ski run and mountain. Some of the rooms have really fantastic views with balconies. I had booked a single room and it had a balcony with a great view. Bathrooms are immaculate and tiled with a bath and shower combo and the toiletries smell great. You can buy your ski tickets at the front desk and don't forget to ask for the discount card which gives you 20% off at one of the local shops for boot and ski rental. I wouldn't book a room with a courtyard view as you will probably be disappointed unless you really don't like views because the rooms with balconies and views are just so outstanding.
