Le Hameau, in English probably "hamlet", was a group of small houses close to Saint-Paul de Vence, transformed in hotel over 20 years ago by Mr. Burlando. Each house became a room or an apartment, different one from the other. Now Mara, daughter of the creator, is successfully managing the hotel together with her husband, with great care to all details: flowers, home-made marmalade using the oranges of the garden, dining services etc. Le Hameau is therefore a wonderful place to relax in the garden or in the swimming pool, or to visit all close interesting villages.

It's not posh and it's not a dive by any stretch of the imagination. It is a friendly well run hotel. My recommendation if you have a couple of days get full board with all meals. It's well worth the extra money. Breakfast is great and abundant but eating lunch and dinner is a wonderful experience! Villa Sophia also offers free secured parking. Is located just off the main road near downtown in an enclosed convent setting so it's peaceful, quiet, and feels miles away from the busy City only 200 feet away. And not to forget. A private beach is located only a very short walk away. My rating of 5 star is based on a three star hotel that gives you a great experience!

Our flight was delayed and we arrived at around 23:00. We called him to tell him we were at the hotel wanting to check in, and he met us there in less than 15 minutes and was super friendly. Upon arrival, he grabbed a map and showed us all the best places in Nice to see, even though it was late at night. Also, he brings his dog with him to the hotel. The dog was the cutest!!

The room was very clean, with nice opening windows to the courtyard. We were in a double superior room I believe, which gave us enough space for our bags. I would definitely recommend going for the double superior, as some of the other rooms were quite small. Staff were very kind, helpful and spoke fluent English. Breakfast was pretty normal for a hotel breakfast, and if you wanted something more, there are a couple bakeries within short walk of the hotel. There are also a local Italian/Pizza restaurant right outside the hotel, and which was lovely and affordable. The only thing I would possibly mention is the neighborhood is a little mixed, but we never felt unsafe. The hotel itself is off the road with a secure gate locked at night (opened by the 24 hour front desk). The real highlight however is the courtyard, truly a lovely oasis in busy Nice and a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or some lunch. The hotel even sells wine and beer from the front desk to enjoy in the courtyard. If we make a return to Nice we will defiantly stay at the Hotel Oasis again.

The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The food at their restaurant was so much better than what I expected. And the staff went out of their way to answer any and all our questions. However, in typical fashion, I will complain about something; the WiFi signal could use a boost. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. And if you come here, so will you. This place is great.

You need to rent a car though but coming from the Nice airport you'd be spending $100 on a taxi each way regardless so if you're only in town for a few days this is doable. I love the environment here: eat breakfast on the patio where the view of the hills and fields is lovely. The manoir itself is charming - all made of stone with ivy on the walls. The rooms are small though. And wifi only on the lobby is a pain. The prices are very reasonable especially compared to Cannes so all-in-all it's worth it. Oh and the food is delicious.

We alerted the hotel that we were delayed and they assured us that it would not be a problem. When we walked in at 23:49 we were promptly greeted and checked in. Not long after that we were sleeping off our jet lag. Our room, decorated with funky, brightly colored post-modern Euro-style furniture was compact, clean and comfortable. No complaints about the accommodations. The breakfast service was quite good. Unlike what we get at hotels in the USA, the bakery, the cheese, the charcuterie and even the coffee were excellent. And nothing beats pain au chocolat with your second espresso of the morning. On our final evening in Menton, after a stroll through the city we returned to the hotel and ordered some drinks from the bar (open 24 hours). The lack of bar tending skills by the employee on duty was the only blemish we experienced--but a minor one. He didn't exactly understand what I wanted and even after explaining, it still wasn't quite right. But, all I really wanted was some alcohol, and I got all the booze I needed at a fair price, even if the proportions of the drink were off. I'm not sure that I'll ever be back to Menton, but if I am, I'll book my room at the Hôtel Napoléon again.

Situated in the South of France on the Italian border, Menton is surrounded by gorgeous mountains and the bright blue Sea. Hotel Napoleon is a 4 star establishment with a laid-back feel. All rooms have a balcony with either garden, mountain or sea views. It is extremely clean with a nice shower, comfortable bed, mini-bar, and a bistro table on the balcony to enjoy your view. There is a nice pool with chairs and beach towels, a fitness room, bar and cafe. The best part is the location. You can walk anywhere in Menton to shop and eat. It is also less than a mile to walk to Italy and about 6 miles to Monaco. The staff was very helpful and friendly.Check in and check out was a breeze.

We were lucky enough to snag a room here as many of the hotels in Nice were booked up. The hotel is a block off the Jean Medecin, one of the main drags of Nice. It's nice to not be in the hustle hustle yet close to everything as well. The hotel is also very close to the Nice rail station. The hotel is decorated in a contemporary modern fashion. If you have lots of luggage, beware as the elevator is quite tiny. If fits one and their luggage comfortably! Our room was equally cozy. It can get cramped with two. The room was big enough for a queen sized bed, a desk, and a small bench. There was an armoire for clothes, though it was a bit small for our two large suitcases. The bathroom was also a bit tight. There wasn't much counter space and the toilet was right up against the wall. The shower was fine and had shampoo and conditioner dispensers. Overall, I would stay here again. It is nice enough and has the amenities of a worldwide chain. The location is ideal as well.

Rooms will remind of a bygone era of decadence, and you're steps from the shore across the street. Our visit was for a weekend congress, and it certainly set the standard for any return trips to Nice.

Classy, historical 5 Star hotel that doubles as an art museum…read more Just concluded a wonderful stay in Nice while the nearby Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Grand Prix week were underway. Arrived at the hotel and was treated like a King. As a member of Leading Hotels of the World there was a welcome letter, complimentary toiletries gift set from Lalique, and I received a complimentary 60 minute massage at Le Spa as part of my package. The ascent to my room was epic, starting off with the velvet red elevator with automatic opening doors. As I got off the elevator I was greeted with an assortment of art (which is present on all floors and the common areas). I received an upgrade to a garden room overlooking the Musee Massena and a partial sea view which was magnificent (room 404). The room was well appointed with a super comfortable bed and came equipped with electric blinds that allowed me to sleep after sunrise. Chocolates were left bedside each evening of the stay. Each morning I was offered the breakfast buffet as well as a menu from which I could order specialty items off of such as pancakes and an egg white omelette. Service and food was great. The evenings offered live entertainment in the 1913 and Versailles bars with an outdoor smoking seating option for cigar aficionados. All the staff, particularly the Concierge team, were extremely helpful and made restaurant reservations for me upon request. The hotel also offers a beach club, which I did not take advantage of. The location was great, just 15-20 minutes from the airport, right across the street from Promenade Anglais, a 15-20 minute walk to the Nice-Ville train station, and about 15-20 minute walk to Old Town. I would certainly consider staying here again.
