Don't waste your time on this place. I could not decide whether the clothes were just really old…read morestore overstock items or actual used thrift items. Everything was 50% off (though I get the feeling that it's 50% all the time, so why not just lower the prices?). Clothes were priced at $8-$15 (so really half of that $4-$7ish). Clothes were from like the 90s styles (which is too recent for retro and too old for cool). I didn't check out the upstairs mens, but I have a feeling it would have been more of the same. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the jewelry was reasonably priced ($1 bracelets) and somewhat interesting though I didn't buy anything. Lastly, the staff was unprofessional and their conversations with each other in front of customers was appalling. Let's just say save the locker room talk for the back room. Overall, the place is classless and drab. There's probably a gem if you dig through every single item, but not worth the time IMO.

The owner is very impolite. No trying is possible and there is no clear signature in this shop…read moresaying that it is not allowed. No trying idea is very bad and likely comes from a strange idea that I have time to give back a cloth if its bad. No! I come to a shop to first try and then buy if it fits well and this is very obvious in Europe but seems not to be very obvious in NYC.. Sad, and at least strange, because I will not buy any cloth without first trying it. If there is a bad law than CHANGE IT...

I am afraid to put a review here because this has to be my favorite clothing store. I am so…read moresurprised it has not been reviewed by NY Magazine, the NY Times, Citysearch, DailyCandy, and by yelpers yet. However, I want the store to be successful so please check it out and tell Rita (the owner and sweetest person) that Michelle sent you. I go here to buy sexy summer and evening dresses and Brazilian bikinis. They have the most beautiful, original designs straight from Rio. I promise you you won't see anyone else wearing what you purchase there. Everything is carefully selected that is being sold and she has quality not quantity. One Brazilian designer they carry here is Morena Rosa. Beautiful fabrics and cuts. I definitely recommend buying bikinis from here. I bought 3 of the same design but in different colors for when I went on vacation to Aruba. [Small beauty tip for those who don't want to look like a zebra with tan lines;)] This boutique looks like it belongs on West Broadway or on Mott Street not on Steinway Street in Astoria. Very chic, modern and clean design, and colorful.

Luckily I found this place not too far from where I work at! As soon as I walked in the store a very nice lady gave me a smile and said hello to me. I asked her if she was the owner but she said no. She was nice lady, gave me a recommendation. There was nice clothes at that store so will come by next time for sure to look at clothes. Since summer is over. I got my swimsuit for 55 dollar. Got 50% from $110. Love this place! See you next time!

I was more intrigued by the design of their building, which the designed themselves. It's a beautiful blend of old and new. They have this stone table in the center that was gorgeous. Their focus on craftsmanship and sustainability across everything they do (clothing design, retail partners, and surf boards) is evident. Th staff were also very excited about their clothing line, which was nice to see.

It was a bad experience due to the inexperience - or something - of the saleswoman "fitting" me. I…read moream sorry to say that I had the most unpleasant bra fitting of my life in this shop and I left in tears. Literally when I left and said, I hope you have a nice day, the saleswoman said "I hope you don't!" We were alone in the shop. Who talks like this? Anyway, whatever is in her heart, that's on her. The only reason I can think of her being that angry was my breasts were too big to fit into any bras or swimsuits in her shop. When I'd called the day before to say I needed a fitting, the person I spoke with was so pleasant and cheerful and I could tell she knew her way atriums a tape measure. Sadly that lady was not on duty when I came in the next day! So for those who do not know, the way to fit someone in a bra is NOT to have them try on bras with far-too-small cup sizes in increasing sizes. If you are holding a tape measure please measure my chest as well as my rib cage. And if doing that makes you uncomfortable, please get out of the bra-fitting business. Two stars because the store smelled clean and had parking.

Date of visit: April 14, 2026…read more I was skeptical to see a Gap Factory store near the Financial District, as I seriously doubted that there would be actual deals given the price of real estate in this area and sadly, I was right. While there was plenty of merchandise available, most of the items were essentially the same price as the regular Gap stores, making this a bit of a letdown for me. Also disappointing was that the sizes available for pants were a bit more limited than what is available online. So that begs the question: If the prices are essentially the same and the selection is essentially the same, what actually makes this a "factory" store? Didn't encounter a single employee during my time on the lower level where the men's clothing is kept. All that being said, the store was in great shape, with the racks and displays in good order, so at least it was a pleasant if ultimately fruitless, shopping experience.

It is close to my job so I can come here during lunch to see if there is anything good and worthy to get. Almost everyday the store is up to 50% off! The good styles are mostly 30% off and only a few items like certain long sleeve henley shirts are 60% off. There are many good hoodies and sweaters of different colors with the GAP logo but for some reason every time I come here the small size is rarely there! They should try to get more small size in stock because the small is always sold out! The kids section has a lot of good deals with 50% to 60% off items like sweatshirts and long sleeve shirts. They have many baby and toddler items that are good for the winter. They are very big on Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. I usually get Minnie Mouse long sleeve sweatshirts from here for my toddler daughter. The store is wheelchair and stroller friendly because they have automatic doors. However recently I went to Gap and the automatic door button for the first set of doors was broken and not working well. The door automatically opened 2 to 3 inches wide and then closed on its own. It sucked so much because I had a heavy stroller. Good thing the store inside had 1 elevator besides the staircase.

Turns out, this new place is some kind of permanent sample sale. I'm not really sure how that works, but I do know I scored two dresses and a cardigan (Ben Sherman) for about $90. The woman who helped me find these items (I am not an accomplished shopper) was sweet and non-pushy. The items in the store ranged from classy to trashy to weird to near-couture... well, in my mind. It is mostly women's but I think they have stuff for the guys. They had impressive deals on shoes. We'll see how this goes, Kontainer. You've got great potential.
