Due to an unreasonably long delay with a food order at the pool--which we ultimately had to cancel ourselves--and an overcrowded reception area where the check-out line filled the entire lobby, our departure felt rushed and chaotic. In the midst of this, I accidentally left a valuable ring in the room. I called the hotel within an hour of leaving, was told housekeeping hadn't yet entered the room, and gave the exact location where the ring had been left. Despite this, I was later informed it was not found. What followed was an unacceptably slow and disorganized response. The official lost item report form wasn't sent until several hours later--and only after my husband, who is Spanish, called on my behalf. The investigation didn't begin until the following day, by which time a full staff shift had already turned over. While they claimed to have searched staff belongings, which to me seemed to acknowledge the possibility of theft, it's unclear what that could have accomplished over 15 hours later. The entire process lacked urgency, transparency, and accountability, which left me deeply disappointed. I expected a much higher standard of professionalism from a hotel of this caliber.

Definitely not up to par with other properties. 8 am on Saturday morning and no coffee shop is…read moreopen? Wanted a pastry and bagel and the only option is a $50 buffet. So ridiculous..

TLDR: Come for the rooftop views of Barcelona, not so much for the stay…read more While Barceló Raval's rooftop offers one of the best panoramic views of Barcelona, the hotel itself is giving knockoff of the W. They try to give off that sexy, mysterious vibe, but as soon as you step into the room, the green ceiling, cheap fixtures and damask wallpaper give it away. The hotel is reasonably "affordable" for its location (near the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta), but definitely in a sketchy area. I highly advise walking outside the hotel at night, as you'll find the rough crowds your parents warned you about. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk, and to get there, you have to cut through some of the sketchiest alleys. I booked through Expedia and was upgraded to a room with a view, a bottle of mini wine & an extra bottle of water. My amenities weren't so great from the moment I opened the door. Since my room was pretty high up, the room was stifling & those views were blocked by a stainless steel mesh. FYI: your room requires a key card at all times if you're trying to use electricity, which includes air conditioning. The shower initially felt luxurious--spacious with a giant waterfall head and solid water pressure--followed by lush bath towels, but that impression faded once I noticed the pockets of mold and grime in the corners. Sleeping was also a challenge since walls are thin and anytime the guests next to me entered their room, it sounded like someone was entering mine, which kept me paranoid and on high alert. Rooftop: the rooftop not only offers panoramic views of Barcelona, but also has a bar and pool, though hard to even suggest the pool is an amenity since it's more so for aesthetic than functionality. On the roof, it's not an open floor plan, so you'll have to walk around the building to get a full 360 view. For those who are height deficient such as myself: prepare for obstructed views because of the high railings (great for safety, but not so much for those under 5'3).

Fantastic beautiful place to stay in Barcelona. Great location, lovely clean and spacious rooms,…read moreroof top pool, beautiful lobby, great staff. Highly recommend!

Stayed here at the end of a work trip for four days…read more The Good Great location within walking distance of anything and everything. Beautiful, well-appointed building, lobby sitting areas, restaurant, etc. Staff were friendly and very accommodating with bag storage, delivering bags to our room before we returned, restaurant recommendations and more. The rooftop is big with pool, bar and a number of seating areas for a 360 view of the city. Relaxing place to sit with a drink. Spa in basement is nice with all amenities. You have to reserve use and it's capped at 30 mins. Rooms are decent size allowing for suitcases and still moving around room. Bathroom is clean and has everything needed including heated towel rack and bidet. Although robes weren't included we found some at spa we used for the remainder of our trip. Lobby is very spacious and comfy, and there is live music in Thur-Sun. Great place to relax with a drink after exploring all day. Breakfast was extensive and a nice start to each day. Included made to order as well as plenty of ready made options for all palettes. The Not as Good We reserved both a superior and classic room but couldn't tell the difference for an additional 130 euros. The front desk said the superior had "more light." Potentially but not sure that was described as difference for what we paid. The rooms lack power outlets. Nothing by bedside. USB by desk but no USB-C or Int'l plugs. We had phones plugged in behind chairs, tea kettle sitting on floor, laptop in bathroom... The subway is underneath the hotel and even though we're on the 4th floor it was loud with lots of vibration. We had Do Not Disturb on for our entire trip but staff entered regardless and made up room. Not a big deal but surprised us and meant we had to put our belongings away every time we left not knowing who would enter when. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would come back but many hotels we passed by looked like good options as well.

Since it's in the narrow alleys of Gothic, arriving at the front door via taxi is difficult, especially if the streets are very crowded. However, it's pretty easy to walk to from the main street if you're OK with walking about five minutes. When we left for the airport, we were able to coordinate a taxi pick up with the front desk. Fortunately, it was also a sunday, so the streets were very empty. It took about 15 minutes for the taxi to arrive, but it was easy to get out of the narrow streets. The hotel itself is nice. Check-in is on the mezzanine level. Our room wasn't ready, but they were able to store our bags. We grabbed lunch at the rooftop restaurant and the food was objectively decent. The main draw of the rooftop restaurant is the incredible view where you can see all of Barcelona and the towering cathedrals. Service was friendly. On a different day, we tried there spritz hour, which seemed to be marketed as two spritzes for €12. However, we each got charged €12 which I think was the price on the menu anyway so I don't know what happened there. The hotel room was cozy. Bed was very comfortable. The layout was a bit odd if you imagine that the room is a U-shape, the bed is the bottom of the U, which makes sense. However the bathroom was split up with the toilet on the right side and the sink and shower on the left side so after you use the bathroom, you would have to walk to the other side of the hotel room to wash your hands. It's not like the room is big, but it's just kind of odd for layout, especially if like luggage is dispersed across the room and you have to walk through all that.

So search Yelp and found this place K+K in the middle of the tourist area. We flew in and took a taxi. It cost about €50. We got in about 10am and stored our luggage. Guys at the front desk were very friendly and even remember my name. We got multiple rooms but our room was for three. A king size bed with a roll away and the foot of the bed. Rooms were nice and clean. With marble counter tops and floors in the bathroom. We had our own temperature control too. Our three person room came with a free breakfast which they had scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, croissants, fresh fruits, juice, coffee. I thought it was a really good breakfast. Only thing is our rooms with only 2 people didn't get their breakfast included. I did like the security at the hotel. No one could come into the hotel unless someone was at the front desk. They actually hit a button to let you in. Also, they give one huge key for your room. Only one key. When you leave the hotel then you give the key to the front desk. You ask for you key when you come back. So security is really good here. Plus the elevators are right in front of the front desk so the front desk is always aware of their guest. No unwanted allowed. The K+K is right across the street from a very popular park called Park de la Ciutaella. 10 minutes away from the Picasso museum and about a 15+ minute walk from their marketplace called Mercat de la Boquetia. Somewhat like a farmers market with fresh seafood. So K+K is very close to a lots of places to visit. Oh yea forgot. You walk a block or so and there is shopping and tons of tapas bars to visit. You just have to find an outside table and enjoy. Very fun area to visit. Overall the K+K was a great hotel for us. Lots to do around the hotel. Lots of food. Lots of shopping and my sister and some of the younger kids went to an rooftop concert about 15-20 minutes away and walked home at around 10:30-11 at night and it was safe. So if I ever came to Barcelona again, I would stay here again. Great hotel

Stayed here for our honeymoon visit to Barcelona. I can't rave about this place enough!…read more Friendly (and multilingual) staff, AMAZING breakfast buffet (for those who purchase the option), clean and modern rooms, cold air conditioning, rooftop view of the city/pool and small bar on the roof, and in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood (El Born) next to a beautiful park and zoo/Arc de Triomphe, and near a lot of famous places within walking distance, biking distance, or metro. Our stay was amazing, and the hotel even smelled fragrant (like a unique cologne)! We loved our stay and hope to stay there again. Quiet rooms, nice bathrooms, free use of an electronic safe in your room, and the room was very clean with a comfortable bed and nice pillows. We got a free upgrade to a business room (and a free champagne/Cava) due to our honeymoon status, so we loved that they went above and beyond for us, but even if they hadn't, we still would have loved our stay. The breakfast is expensive restaurant quality. Some of the best breakfast food I've ever eaten, between the Brie, croissants, eggs, pastries, fresh fruit, juice, etc. (they also have beans, sausages, bacon, cereal, oatmeal, regular bread for sandwiches, several types of cheese, and some vegetables, as well as a daily special item). If you are visiting Spain, don't miss out on this opportunity to get a delicious, full meal to start the day in your own hotel! We ordered room service a few times and the food was high quality and delivered quickly. Internet was spotty in our rooms, and we lost wireless signal a lot, so that was the only downside. We were able to connect enough that it wasn't a huge problem, just an annoyance. Still, VERY worth it and a reasonable price for such a beautiful and modern hotel with a rooftop view! This looked and felt like a luxury hotel for a reasonable price. We loved the staff, who spoke so many languages we lost count, especially Mario. WE LOVED IT HERE! Just as a side note: we're from the U.S. and brought a converter to use our hair appliances with, but the wall outlets were recessed, which made it so that we couldn't use our converter at all (our small adapter for phone chargers was fine, though). If you have an electronic appliance requiring a converter that is a must during your stay, you need to look into a converter that is small and can fit in the recessed electrical outlet. Phones do not charge as quickly in Europe, as well, just as a heads up!
