The Viktor Frankl Museum in Vienna is just an amazing place to spend some time in. It is now more than one year since it has opened and everyone I know who has visited it feels the same way that I do. This museum is so creatively designed...so moving.... meaningful....inspirational. Viktor Frankl in my opinion as well as in the opinion of many other people is one of the greatest Austrians of the 20th Century. His life story, his insights, his teachings all resonate deep to the core of the human spirit. Having studied him in school, seen the documentary film "Viktor and I," and having read his classic book "Man's Search For Meaning", I was very curious how a museum devoted to him would turn out. Would it be a conventional museum or could it be something special? The answer is the latter - something special. In the very rooms where he worked, you now can not only learn about his life but creatively explore his humanistic beliefs and enfold them into your own life. And when his widow who is also involved in this project suddenly walked into the museum while I was there, I got chills. I strongly recommend this experience in Vienna for people open to exploring their inner values and beliefs. It doesn't replace all the things one can see or do in Vienna, but it certainly augments them!
Tips - If you can, visit this museum alone so you can personally interact with the creative spirit here. If you go with someone else, try to still explore and react to the interactive cabinets on your own and then at the end of your visit share with each other your revelations and thoughts.
