Too bad that I cannot give ZERO stars. The review that Amy Z. wrote must bear some merit, because this was my customer 'service' experience with this salon AFTER GOING THERE FOR A YEAR! This is my exact email message to Dawn, who works there. Good evening, Dawn. I wanted to take a moment to describe my experience when I called to make this appointment that, after going over the emails, I can see we have both had to cancel numerous times. You initially cancelled and rescheduled, due to family obligations. No problem. I was requested to support a mission at the Pentagon, so I then had to cancel that appointment with you. You offered a set of times for me to choose a reschedule. I chose a date and you scheduled me in. A few days later, you let me know that you had to cancel that appointment. No problem again. I then decide to call the studio, per your most recent email above and this is exactly what happened: Someone named Kim answered (or I think she said Kim). Sounds like she smokes four packs an hour, that must conjure up the image of said person in your mind, I'm sure. She passed me off to someone else. A scheduler, I believe. Scheduler was a doll and tried to help. She offered a date a little further out than I wanted, and I said that I hated to even consider the idea since I LOVE coming to you, but I was going to have to cheat on you this one time and go somewhere else so that my hair did not look like this for the holiday. She asked me if I would hold for a moment while she asked you if you had a time you could get me in. Well, that same smokey-sounding lady stopped her and I heard her whole conversation with the nice scheduler. Smokey lady asked scheduler what she was doing and she let her know that she was going to see if Dawn could squeeze me in. Smokey lady asked who was on the phone and when she said my name, smokey lady said that she was not to bother Dawn and that she (scheduler) should not schedule me until sometime in January for making Dawn wait for 2 hours the other day when I did not show up. And who did I think I was not coming to my appointment. And that these people do not get that what goes around comes around. She (smokey) said she could not care less about whether I got an appointment and that the scheduler was to go back and offer me an appointment that went into 2014, so that I was guaranteed to be inconvenienced. When the scheduler came back she apologized and said that you were with a client (or she may have said customer). Before she could say another word I stopped her and said verbatim: Actually, I just heard the entire conversation that smokey-sounding lady had with you. You have lost me as a customer. Have a nice evening. And then I hung up. Six words about phone etiquette and good business practices coming from an MBA grad: Use the mute button next time. I hope you had nothing to do with that. I really do. But the constant reschedules have me wondering. If not, and you move on to another salon, let me know, because I will be first in line. I will not ever return to Vikki's again. Vikki's Hair Studio is the ONLY place I get my hair done and for a good reason, the customer service is outstanding and they do such a great job! I have been getting my hair done here for probably 5 years and have not had a single complaint. I normally get my hair color done with Vikki and she does a wonderful job. I dye my hair red and it's normally hard to keep my color in for a long time, but since I've gotten my hair dyed at Vikki's, my hair is holding the color better than ever and my hair is healthier. Vikki has even saved me from some really bad dye jobs (and I mean REALLY BAD) and she has gotten my hair back to its normal health with special hair treatments. Vikki always takes her time with you during your appointment and she genuinely cares about our hair and what you want. I have, multiple times, brought in pictures of hair cuts that I want and she has not disappointed me once. Every time she gets the hair cut exactly how you want it and then she explains and walks you through how much time you will have to put into making the cut look right at home. She recommends great products for your hair and I always use the Kenra line of hair products and the Redken color shampoo and conditioner. As a long time customer at Vikki's Hair Studio I would say that I am never going anywhere else to get my hair done. Vikki and all of the other girls at the shop do such a wonderful job and they really care about your needs and wants. I would recommend Vikki's Hair Studio to anyone!!! read more

Just joined Yelp and started looking at businesses I use and had to post something about Vikki's after seeing the one(of 17)review they based her stars on.. I have been a client of Vikki's for about 15 years, coming once a month for a cut and more recently color and highlights. I love this shop! Everyone is always friendly, its clean and modern looking and offers beverages and snacks to clients and has a pretty broad selection of magazines to while away the time waiting for color or perms. I have never witnessed or heard any foul language and the idea of drugs there is ludicrous. Either Amy Z. was someplace else and confused the name or has some kind of ax to grind to write that kind of stuff about the salon. While I'm sure there are sometimes mistakes made, I've always found Vikki to be very responsive to customers. I think all of the stylists I've seen there seem to have good , returning clients and I often see the same ladies when I'm there for my appointment. Over the years, as my needs (and hair) have changed, I've been grateful to have Vikki's advice on style and color, etc. They all seem to be very talented at what they do and I wouldn't hesitate a moment to recommend the salon to anyone looking for a new stylist. read more

Vikki's Hair Studio is the best! My stylist, Dawn, went there in 2011 so I followed her. I was plesantly surprised by the atmosphere. The salon is beautiful. The owner and other stylists are very warm and friendly. They all pitch in to help one another. I bring my infant daughter with me to my appointments and she ends up spending time with everyone before we leave and they are so sweet to her and to me. I love the Andes Mints with the capes when you first arrive. Even the other clients are nice. I get a chemistry treatment everytime I go and it is worth every penny. They listen to what you want done and will do what it takes to make you happy. I definitely recommend Vikki's to everyone! read more

Vikki's Hair Studio is a wonderful, calm, exceptionally clean place to have your hair done. All of the staff are professional and the stylists are always at the top of their game. Dawn S. is my hair stylist and without doubt she knows her stuff. The staff always go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. "Want some coffee, tea, water, a snack?" This is an amazing salon. I am new to the area and thanks to yelp I found a great place. It is one of the cleanest salons I have ever been. My stylist,Lynn, was very knowledgeable. It seemed everyone was at the top of their game. Everyone, staff and customers, were very friendly. This salon while it is very professional they have a good time and see to it that I had a great time. I have never laughed and smiled so much. I felt like I had been coming there for years. this place was amazing!!! i felt right at home and everyone was sooooo hospitable! I was greeted by eveyone as soon as i walked in and was offered refreshments. Dawn was my stylist and she was awesome. i went in to get a cut and highlight and absolutely loved it she even gave me a few pointers on what would look good on me and she was right. I have been going to Vikki's Hair Studio for a few years now, since Dawn started there and I have to say I was amazed at previous reviews I read. Are those people sure they were at Vikki's in Millersville? I have my hair colored and cut about once a month and my experiences have been nothing short of phenomenal. I found Vikki many years ago. I followed her to her salon and have been coming in every month for as long as I can remember. I have never been unhappy with my hair cuts or highlights. The salon is exceptionally clean. I have been a customer since Vikki opened 17 yrs. ago and would never go anywhere else. Even after moving to Delaware, I still travel regularly to get my hair done. The shop is always immaculate! I never have to wait more than a few minutes and there is a wonderful FREE coffee bar with lots of snacks to enjoy while getting your hair done. disgusting!!!!! bathroom reeked of marijuana and had marijuana on the floor. owner cusses like a sailor in front of customers, i had my 4 year old with me and the whole time she was dropping the "f" word like it was going out of style, i even asked her to please not say that around my child and she ignored me. that was my first and last time there, the caliber of work is comparable to the hair cuttery, save your money and go there! skip this place read more

I absolutely love Vikki's Hair Studio and will not go anywhere else to have my hair colored, cut, and styled. You are treated like a princess from the minute you walk in the door, and the staff is extremely kind, caring, and generous. Vikki always has homemade food and coffee or tea for her clients.
