They have some great water activities to rent. A fire pit for sitting by and having s'mores or just relaxing by. Not too far from the resort you can go see some deer. They love carrots.

We arrived at the check in time listed on the email the owner tried to put us in a cabin that was actively under construction and had holes in walls, you could see outside, and was not the cabin we reserved (pic 1 is what we reserved and pic 2 is what we were offered) . The owner told us to come back in an hour and the cabin under construction would be buttoned up and ready. Came back 1 hour and 15 minutes later and it was the same no bed and bare walls (see pics). Then when we tried to discuss this with the owner he stated, "I'm on a conference call what do you want?" I asked him to get off the call, which he never did and talk to us, and he refused so we asked for a refund which he eventually did after we refused to leave until I had confirmed the refund with my credit card. The final straw was when I asked his partner if she would spend her vacation their and she flat out said no. The owners refusing to honor their own reservations messed our entire vacation, we had to find a hotel with Wi-Fi and find a new location for the week and try and replan our activities since most of them were built around staying at this resort. When we questioned why someone else was in our cabin the owner kept stating he had cancellations and had to move people around. This made zero sense because if there were cancellations, he could have put us in one of the cancelled cabins. He refused to give us any other explanations. They did offer to not charge us for the rest of the week if we took the cabin which would have still cost us close to 300 (the deposit) to stay in a cabin with holes in the walls (bugs could get in) and none of the outside amenities we paid for as part of the rental such as a grill or picnic table, when I mentioned this part I was told you can use one from another cabin if the people are not using it. Just beware of this business and know if you book through them, you may arrive and not have a place to stay in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, they will not honor reservations that they make.

On our very first night on Mackinac Island, the weather was showing off--mid-60s, sunshine all day,…read morenot a cloud in sight. With the forecast looking more meh-kinac than Mackinac for the rest of the trip, we knew this was our golden hour (literally) to get out on the water. Enter: Sip 'n Sail's Sunset Cruise under the Mackinac Bridge. Let me tell you--this wasn't just a boat ride, it was a floating block party with the best views in Michigan. The boat itself is a two-tier beauty that holds around 100 folks, but lucky for us it wasn't packed. We snagged cushy patio sofa seats on the top deck (pro tip: get in line early!) and parked ourselves right in front of the live entertainment. And what entertainment it was! Our singer had charm, pipes, and a playlist straight out of the Yacht Rock Hall of Fame. Think Michael McDonald meets "Dancing With the Sunset." Everyone was singing, swaying, and probably rethinking their life choices if they didn't know all the words to "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)." The crew? Absolute gems. From the captain steering us smooth as butter under the Mighty Mac to the bartenders slinging drinks like it was happy hour at sea, they were all fantastic. Special shoutout to Emma, who kept spirits high (and beverages flowing). Drink-wise: the margarita was a bit too sweet for me--like sipping liquefied Skittles--but once I switched over to wine, I was smooth sailing. The highlight? Cruising directly under the Mackinac Bridge while the sun melted into the horizon in a blaze of pinks and golds. It was so breathtaking I half-expected Christopher Cross himself to appear on deck and whisper, "Sail away..." The night closed with a surprise duet: our singer invited a guest up for a Bob Seger number, and let me tell you--dude nailed it. I almost yelled "Play it again, Seger!" All in all, $55 for an hour and a half of boat-side bliss was a steal. Considering Mackinac Island charges $12 for a cup of grapes, this felt like highway--er, waterway--robbery in the best possible way. So if you're on the fence about booking this? Don't be. Just hop aboard. As Christopher Cross says, think of me when you sail away.

Really fun trip. The views underneath the bridge are incredible. There was a singer on board who…read morewas wonderful. She played a good mix of music. Great service by the staff.

We were looking for an adventure with our new-ish kayaks. We fortuitously read a Michigan tourism magazine tucked into the Chicago Tribune; the magazine featured a story about kayaking in Les Cheneaux with Woods & Waters. It sounded great! Though we are comfortable on the water, we thought it would be good to have a guide in an area new to us -- and Tim was a perfect guide for our half-day paddle! We learned so much about this beautiful and interesting area, saw an eagle and its nest, did a quick mid-paddle hike to get an amazing view to go with our rock skipping and gained a few kayaking skill tips that will make us better kayakers. It certainly was a bonus that the water and weather cooperated -- water like glass and just enough sun. Tim - thanks for the advice to do the Narnia hike - that was our afternoon adventure! We ended our day at Les Cheneaux Distillers. The day couldn't have been better. We loved our paddle so much and felt comfortable with our newfound knowledge from Tim that we went back for a quick paddle the next morning. We wish we could have stayed on the water all day! Thank you Sue and Tim. We will see you next time!
