The accommodation is made up of cabins which for the basic level are in groups of four typically including a double bed & four singles plus a large bathroom with separate lockable shower & toilet as well as a a drying room, a small fridge, kettle, tv & some draws & cupboards etc making it a great choice for families or a group. There is also separate family cabins for those who want a touch more privacy. Located about 5km from Jindabyne but they do have a store with ski hire etc two bars, a brasserie, buffet & pizza shop on site all of which are very well priced. The buffet has a wide variety of all you can eat featuring roasts, salads, soup, seafood, pasta , mexican etc for $25 or $15 for breakfast. You can grill your own steak for $20 including a salad & vege bar & a beer. You can also order cheap feeds from the pub such as a kilo of wings for $12 The pizza shop also does bacon & egg rolls & take away coffees for breakfast if you want to grab something to eat on your way up the hill. There is something on every night in the pub such as bands, DJs, bingo, pool comps etc so despite the isolated location you get by. The down side is there is no transport so you have to have a car, you can get a taxi but it gets expensive to do that too often.

When the snow cover is good you can ride from the front of the lodge, straight down into the valley crossing the oversnow route and the bridge and onto to the quad chair. To get your gear to/from the lodge they have oversnow transportation. The lodge has a number of rooms featuring comfortable beds, good quality linen, tea and coffee making facilities and a small TV. Some rooms have renovated bathrooms. There is a great common area with bar, fireplace, plenty of lounges, several large televisions, a good soundsystem, table tennis, 2 pool tables, foosball table, buck hunter and a few other coin video games. The staff are friendly and the breakfasts and dinners are great. Recommended if you are looking to stay on the hill.

Skiing is expensive especially with three kids and the snow can be hit or miss. Sure enough, we arrived to not much snow. The apartment we were staying in was great, even though the stairs were designed for mountain goats. It was comfortable and big enough that the teenagers could find their own space to cope with a lack of snow. It had all the cooking facilities that you could ask for, there was no reason to eat in the Stables restaurant. The thing is that its the sort of restaurant you go to for no reason. It has an early happy hour, with good mix of cocktails but the fun goes on for hours. The restaurant manager had a mix of charm and cheer that made eating there a great experience. On the second day the snow came, then came and kept coming. Each day the weather conditions varied and more snow came. The snow was great despite conditions that were sometimes less than pleasurable. When we finally left and we were all in the car on the way home, the kid's verdict was best holiday ever.
