Never again will we stay…read more The new owners are not nice- dirty rooms; we had to get them to remove Malteasers from the floor. 2nd night- we went out all day, come back to our room and only half the beds had been made up - then me and the kids are sitting on the bed, look down and there is a not so healthy white crispy stain on the bed, could have been yoghurt, but either way the linen in our room was unclean. We looked at getting another motel but nothing was available. We had paid for a 3 night stay but could not stay the 3rd it was disgusting. On check out we were refused of any discount, therefore, had to pay in full for the 3rd night. New owners will go down hill fast as they had very bad customer service, thought it was fine that half the beds were made over, the food was left on the floor and the white stain on the bed, well... that could be anything. The place was falling apart; hand rail on stairs rotted away floor boards rotting and lifting up. The kids room (play room) had wine glasses and beer bottle left sitting around in it. But if anyone likes to stay in an unclean and a unsafe motel, with not so friendly owners enjoy your stay! Or/and get in early for breakfast or there will be nothing left and no safe refill..... Had to change dates a few times, and was charged EXORBITANT FEES EACH TIME and our friendship actually ended over how much of a headache trying to arrange things and dealing with them was. I couldn't get any other friends to want to come with me given that there was only a few hours of riding over the 3 nights and it was better suited to a romantic get away. I explained to them all of this and that I had been navigating a difficult separation and the death of my next partner and hadn't been able to book yet for those reasons and as the booking voucher had expired I offered to pay yet more [ after paying a huge amount for 2 people to stay for 3 nights, and hundreds in fees for changing dates.. ] and they proprietors were unbelievably rude, uncaring and refused to accomodate me in any way. These people are the most cold and mercenary capitalists who do not care at all about people and have a lot to learn about hospitality and customer service.

On my visit I was swagging it (as everywhere else was booked out), and looking for a place I could bag a hot shower and cook a warm meal. Being the middle of winter, hot showers don't come easy, but they are oh so good. And the showers here are good, if you can find your way in through the access control system. On check in you are issued a 4 digit code. This will get you and your car through the front gate, and into the amenities block and laundry block. My code seemed to work most of the time, although wouldn't let me into the male showers in the morning on one side. Perhaps a test of awaken-ness. This code allegedly also expires beyond the checkout time - so don't be late or you might not be going anywhere fast. Another benefit - no keys to lose or return. The showers are hot and with good pressure. There is also a camp kitchen, which although is exposed to the elements by virtue of being only partially enclosed, is heated by a number of strip heaters around the room. The Camp Kitchen has two barbeques, two hot plates, a microwave, toaster, pod coffee maker and a fridge (perhaps useful so your stuff does not freeze in the winter, or bake in the summer). This holiday park is right in the centre of town, a short walk to the local pubs, and directly across from the Woolworths and other stores so its super convenient with everything walking distance. Its right on the lake too and the camp sites take advantage of this by being on the lakeside. The price seems about right for the peak time of the season - unpowered site isn't exactly cheap at $35 for one person, but given the seasonality of pricing around here probably reasonable. It does get cold here in winter too, so bring your warm kit :)

Relaxed and welcoming to the point that you feel as though you are at home.
