Vignettes Gayton is the second spinoff store of RVA Antiques. The original store is on Lakeside Ave, then there is RVA Antiques On The Avenue, located at Patterson and Libbie. It seems these stores were started very quickly, because the names are a bit confusing. RVA Antiques is currently trying to refer to both of the newer stores as "vignette stores" and, in the process, actually named the Gayton location "Vignettes Gayton." I'm writing all this to help any confused shoppers! Either way, each of the 3 stores is unique in its own right. They are all worth going to. Some vendors sell their wares at all locations, some at 2 locations, and some at just one. It really depends on what they're selling.
First of all, Vignettes Gayton is really hard to find at the shopping center, even when I was told exactly where to go. I recommend taking a look at their Facebook page to see what the sign looks like before stopping by. It is in a corner to the right of Gayton Animal Hospital, but the sign faces Gayton Rd, and as you drive in, you are usually facing Quiocassin. I also suggest that, since this shop is associated with RVA Antiques (and that's how customers find out about it) to have some RVA Antiques signage around it.
Vignettes Gayton is more similar to RVA Antiques On The Avenue than RVA Antiques in that all the items are ready for display. There is not as much "old stuff", collectibles, memorabilia, etc. Vignettes Gayton has a small but nice collection of clothes, and different home and garden items than the other two stores. Definitely stop by and check it out! read more
