This is the place that he picked. It's located near the ancient church Sant'Eufemia. I've been lucky enough to eat some very wonderful food across Italy and this trip was no exception. We'd been treated to a lot of lovely seafood restaurants and I was really craving some comfort food. I was not disappointed here. Located on a small narrow street with no passing vehicles the patio of this restaurant is absolutely lovely and cozy. They have umbrellas that stretch right across the area and it even sprinkled rain briefly while we sat outside but it was warm and we weren't bothered. We started with some Prosecco and a selection of antipasti that our server chose for us. Then I had the Tagliatelle al tartufo nero (black truffle). It was perfectly cooked and immediately I felt warm and comforted. Our Verona veteran suggested that if anyone liked liver this was the city to get it in. Well I am the only one in my household that loves liver so I never get to eat it. The Fegato alla veneziana was exactly what I hoped for. So tender and flavourful. Our bottle of Allegrini La Grola washed it all down. Why not order a bottle of wine from the Veneto when you're eating dishes of the region? This is how we do things right. The service was professional yet relaxed and when the chef came out to sit and have his dinner we were pleased to see that he looked like someone who enjoyed food and life with fervour. The next time I head to Verona I'll be eating here again.

The prices were high and the portions were barbie size. I had a horse pesto with polenta which tasted quite nice... until I found some wood in my plate. The polenta, also, had probably been sitting around all day until they got the chance to put it in the microwave to heat it up. I also ordered some roasted potatoes on the side, which not only were very few, they were raw. I'm surprised I didn't break a tooth biting into them. The whole evening was topped by rude waitresses who would even ignore us while we were waiting at the cash point ready to pay. Ugh
