My friend and I enjoyed our first visit to Santa Fe. The Deep Dive History walking tour was a good overall orientation of the Plaza downtown area to help us orientate to the sites we wish to visit. Owner Jerard Vigilante was very easy to contact and flexible with our schedule due to weather issues. Guide Paul Hillman was entertaining, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I also found it was the best value for a general walking tour of any that I researched.

    Sopapilla

Jerard gave a fantastic tour for a few girlfriends and me last weekend. He was fun, funny and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Santa Fe. We went to a few restaurants around the Railyard and ate amazing, local New Mexican cuisine. The sopapillas with the Christmas sauce was a real highlight!! The local beer and cider wasn't half bad either 10/10 would recommend

The class size was just right, enough people to make it fun and social, but still small enough that everyone got involved. Chef Mica kicked things off by giving us an overview of the history of the area, its chile traditions, and the differences between the peppers we'd be working with and seeing around the city. That context added so much depth to the cooking, it wasn't just a class, it was a cultural experience. Each of us prepared a different type of relleno, and then at the end we all sat down and shared the full spread together buffet style. It was such a fun way to learn, connect, and taste a variety of chiles without spending hours cooking everything on your own. It was well organized, engaging, and easy to follow. My anxiety did kick in once I realized other people would also be eating what I made, but we made it through and I loved what I got, the jalapeno poppers. You can feel the passion in what the chef does and everything ran very smoothly even though we were the last done lol Come hungry and ready to learn! We walked away with some new skills, a deeper knowledge of peppers, and some great recipes we can't wait to try at home. This truly will be memorable for us!

The bed sits just inches from the toilet door, so unless you're unusually close with your travel companion, pack earplugs and a blindfold. Dust was caked into the corners, a dead bug was in the ripple of the vintage rug, and we were greeted by a dried booger on the bathroom door (seriously). The door frame lets light in, the floors creaked like a haunted house, and the entire layout felt like it was designed by someone who's never actually had to sleep there. There were no privacy blinds, only wooden shutters, and the artwork provided enough clutter to fill the room just in case you forgot your own luggage. Breakfast was the big show! Most of what we were served was delicious. For an extra $45 per person, you'll be given whatever the kitchen feels like making that morning... no choices, no allergy considerations, and not even a glass of water. Instead, you're handed an herbal infusion and expected to sip with gratitude while waiting 90 minutes for your dessert tart. But our group's disappointment simply must have meant we didn't understand the "magic" of the experience. In the end, Casa Culinaria is the kind of place that confuses ambiance with hospitality and is more interested in curating an image than creating a welcoming stay. If you're searching in Santa Fe for a splintering rocking chair, garden corners appropriate for Instagram, or even paying $340/night to be treated like an inconvenience... this is the winner! Anyone interested in actual hospitality should keep searching.

The air in Santa Fe is fabulous and one a 2 seated open air, human powered tricycle this is the only way to go. I stopped by one and struck up a conversation with 71 year old peddle/driver, Pete, by asking if Pedicab was hiring. Great guy, originally from the NYC area and transplanted to Santa Fe only one years ago. His knowledge of the area, rich history, and it's people was most impressive. We talked for roughly 20 minutes and his vim and vigor for life, health, and continued gathering of knowledge was inspiring. Once I checked out of my hotel, I needed to kill some time before I got on the Rail Runner train. I had seen a colorful Pedicab earlier when I took the city tour and it looked like fun. So after that tour and a visit to the Crepes Shop nearby, I was feeling pretty good but not like I wanted to hike all the way down to the Santa Fe Depot for the train. That's when I saw a blond guy sitting in a Pedicab parked in Santa Fe Plaza. I asked him how much he charged and it was one dollar per minute, That seemed affordable so I hopped on. Soon we were passing through the beautiful Plaza and on our way through the Railyard District. It was so nice taking in all the sights from an open air carriage. The driver was nice enough to stop while I admired and took pictures of a church with a lovely rose garden. Soon enough, we had arrived at the Depot and the ride was only $12. The driver had used his little step stool to help me get down and forget to take it when he left. So I called the Pedicab office and told them I was leaving his step stool with the Tourist Info office there. The gentleman did come back to fetch his step stool. This company does an excellent job, hire wholesome, honest-looking drivers and give visitors a fresh air way of enjoying the sights. According to their website, they also do "tours of Canyon Road Galleries (many of the drivers are artists), the Railyard District, and tours of nightlife hotspots (some of the drivers specialize in nightlife). Tours can be of any length you choose." Santa Fe Pedicab operates from 9 am to 10 pm seven days a week from May to November. Call for a reservation or ask your concierge to make arrangements. Usually there is a Pedicab somewhere around the Plaza area, which is where I found mine. 5 YELP STARS for environmentally-friendly pedal power in beautiful Santa Fe.

I have been coming to Santa Fe for more than 35 years, always staying at our family home. When that home was sold two years ago, this became the first time my husband and I needed to find a hotel for one of our visits. Because Santa Fe feels like a second home to us--and because we were returning to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary--I did a tremendous amount of research before booking. We chose the Drury Plaza Hotel because we wanted to be within easy walking distance of the historic Plaza while still receiving genuine value. The included breakfast and evening Happy Hour were major deciding factors. Happy Hour includes drinks and enough substantial food that it can easily serve as dinner after a full day of sightseeing, adding meaningful value to the stay. The location could not have been better. Each morning, I walked to the Plaza before my husband woke up, and we could hear the bells from the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. We also took several day trips to nearby areas, and the Drury was an ideal home base for everything we wanted to explore. We stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. The rooftop pool and Jacuzzi were another highlight. We enjoyed beautiful Santa Fe sunsets from the rooftop and returned later to soak in the Jacuzzi and gaze at the stars. Those quiet moments became some of our favorite memories from the trip. A pro tip for future guests: on the second floor, at the end of the hallway, there is a lovely "secret garden" lawn area with tables and chairs. Relatively few guests seem to know about it, but you can take your Happy Hour food and drinks outside and enjoy a peaceful setting away from the activity of the main hotel spaces. It was an unexpectedly blissful little retreat. As the former CEO of a destination event-planning business, I also paid attention to the hotel's conference rooms and event facilities. Any company or organization hosting a corporate meeting, retreat, or special event would likely find this property especially appealing. The combination of location, guest amenities, gathering spaces, and walkability makes it a strong option for groups wanting both convenience and an authentic Santa Fe experience. The hotel itself is lovely, welcoming, and exceptionally well positioned, but here is what other reviews may not fully capture: the staff is everything. They are the true difference-makers. We were told that employees are hired, in part, because they genuinely enjoy people, and that quality is evident in every interaction. The front desk staff looked up, made eye contact, and greeted us whenever we passed rather than remaining focused solely on their computer screens. The valet team warmly welcomed us each time we returned. Angela was especially warm and welcoming during Happy Hour. Jo made us feel genuinely special, while Josephine stood out for her calm, gracious leadership and her ability to remember and acknowledge us whenever we returned to the hotel. Marco and Angel were also superstars at the rooftop bar. The hotel proactively asks whether guests are celebrating anything, and the team actually pays attention to the response. We did not request anything special, yet we received a complimentary suite upgrade for our anniversary, along with a bottle of wine and a card signed by members of the staff. Those thoughtful touches meant a great deal to us. We also experienced a power outage during our stay, and that unexpected moment revealed just how well prepared the team was. Staff members were positioned at critical points throughout the building, calmly guiding guests, opening doors, and providing assistance. Service culture and training often reveal themselves most clearly when something does not go according to plan, and this team rose beautifully to the occasion. The Drury Plaza Hotel gave us the location, amenities, value, and atmosphere we were seeking, but the people are what made our anniversary stay truly memorable. After more than three decades of visiting Santa Fe, we are grateful to have found a hotel that now feels like part of our connection to the city. We will absolutely return.

Drury Plaza is a steal for a stay. The food was typical hotel food but reasonably priced. You also get free drinks and food at happy hour time. A very good free breakfast with great coffee to start your day. Once again the staff shines here. Food, coffee, and drinks all on point. The ambience was great hotel. I can't say enough the value you get for your money. This was my first experience at Drury motel. This hotel should be the flagship. They are doing it right!!! From staff to hotel experience 10'stars. I will from now on look to try Drury hotels anywhere I go just from staying here. I have traveled for the last four years for club volleyball and stayed at a a lot of hotels and motels. This one is at the top for me. High ends may have slightly better food which you are going to pay for. But for your money Drury is king. Keep it up if come through Santa Fe again this is where I am staying.

This independent hotel is an older, yet well-maintained property. It offers a slightly less luxurious experience compared to some of the more upscale lodging options in the Santa Fe Plaza area, but its charm, location, perks, and value make it an excellent choice. The Inn of the Governors is located just a few very walkable blocks from the Plaza, the New Mexico state capitol building, and downtown's main cultural and historic sites. What really sets this property apart from other local options are the stellar hospitality and thoughtful amenities. Every morning begins with a free cooked-to-order breakfast in the hotel's on-site restaurant from 630am til 1030am featuring traditional favorites like eggs and pancakes as well as excellent New Mexican specialties like huevos rancheros. On-site parking is free -- a valuable perk in downtown Santa Fe where parking can be $30-50/night -- and the exceptionally friendly staff hosts a daily happy hour from 4pm to 5pm with complimentary sherry, hot herbal tea, and New Mexico's traditional biscochito cookies. Our room's traditional New Mexican decor and furnishings were starting to show their age, but they were clean and well maintained. My room featured a large LED TV with plenty of content, a reasonable workspace with easy-to-connect WiFI, and individual HVAC controls that made it easy to manage the temperature during the night. The room was also equipped with a small refrigerator as well as a single-serve coffee maker with four pods. The bathroom had plenty of space on the vanity for my personal hygiene items. If you're deciding on room options, the 'deluxe' rooms in the main building are well worth considering - especially during cooler weather - because they feature Kiva-style wood-burning fireplaces for guests' use. Given the age of the property, this hotel would typically earn a 3- or 4-star rating, but everything else about our experience easily warrants my rounding up to a 5-star rating. PRO TIP: Book directly through the hotel's website. Guests who book directly (rather than through an online travel agent -- offering the same nightly rates) receive a $15 per night credit for their on-site restaurant, Del Charro. Unlike typical hotel dining, Del Charro's prices are very reasonable with entrees ranging from $9 to $20 and they don't hit guests with an automatic 20-25% service charge.

And they didn't hv any 2 bed rooms available. So I found this place And in that week between Christmas and New Year's we still wanted to catch the Christmas lights and farolitos And if you too are about location, location, location This was perfect If you've ever had to drive to Santa Fe, you know that parking can be a bear -- and it was, with a lot of the main streets blocked off in anticipation of NYE celebrations. The hotel is actually quite a large, sprawling complex, much deeper that what might be assumed when pulling in. We got there mid-afternoon so could park rt in front of our first floor room. I hadn't even thought about that but my creaky knees were happy and quite relieved to only hv to haul my wee bag up 7 steps or so. Check in was easy, if a bit crowded, as a lot of regulars like to show up a bit early too. The doorman was a very polite young man and everyone made us feel welcome. The older gentleman at the counter was a font of information And made sure we knew abt the Happy Hour Short and sweet Whatever you do: try the biscochitos! (The official NM state cookie, fyi - for a reason - when done right, and these definitely are!) Everything was very clean Even with all the Christmas decorations and greenery out There's an excellent restaurant on site And when they say there's "a bit of a kick", and shd you be a wuss like me, order the spicy on the side. Staff was very considerate abt this. And breakfast is pretty good too! And it was so easy to walk to everything, stuff I usually don't get to see bc I'm usually on the other side of town. All in all, a lovely stay
