We took the Wander four hour food and drink tour in Santa Fe. Lauren was our host and she is fantastic, with a wealth of information about the area and local food...and she was a lot of fun. We met so many nice people from all over the country. I highly recommend this tour the next time you are in Santa Fe. Thanks, Lauren, for a terrific afternoon read more

We did the Historic Plaza Food Sip and Savor Tour. It included 4 stops; 2 with food and alcoholic beverage taste, 1 stop with champagne flight, and 1 stop with churro dessert. Lauren was outstanding host but the $179 per person plus expected tip is outrageous pricing and would have expected more value (food and drink or 5 versus 4 stops). read more

Probably the #1 advice I give fellow travelers is to do a food tour soon after arriving in a new city. You get some history, get a basic understanding of the lay of the land, and best of all... you get to eat. On our particular day we ate Italian, ice cream, tamales, amazing pozole and (I think) El Salvadoran food. Everything was delicious and in a couple of cases, a first for me! A huge shout out to our guide - I think her name was Lauren. She did an amazing job and went the extra mile to make sure that we returned to our hotel okay (we were having shuttle issues). She was funny, caring and informative. Besides that, also a chef so she knew what she was talking about! The tour was about $200 per person before tip. Don't forget to tip! I highly recommend this tour. read more

My best friend and I came to Santa Fe to celebrate our 40th birthdays. We signed up for the four hour walking food tour and had a lovely experience with Lauren. She was a wealth of information and all the food and drinks were delicious. It was a good amount of food. Highly recommend if you are looking for something fun to do. read more

We had a great experience on our Sip and Savor Tour with Elizabeth Schroder. She was very well informed about the history of Santa Fe. She was very passionate about the true story of Santa Fe. We attended Cheesemongers and had a tasting of three different cheeses with pairings. There was a 10% discount if you wanted to purchase some to go. We then attended El Callejon Tacos and had a tasting of three different gourmet street tacos with beer. The home made salsa was great. We returned later on our trip to have more tacos. For a third stop, we went to Noisy Water wine tasting room. There, we had four different wine tastings starting with a white, two reds, and finally a white wine infused with green chile. The green chile was a hit or miss in our group. For our final stop, we went to a beer and wine tasting at Hops and Fire. We got to taste some local beers as well as some tasty appetizers. We finished with their home made ice cream. We came back here again. Thanks Elizabeth for the great experience. I would highly recommend it. read more

Great walking tour with Lauren. We visited three restaurants and the chefs came out to talk to us at each place -- which I would not assume is to be expected in every case -- and Lauren was personable, knowledgeable and friendly. We loved the explanations and the venues, from the extra-spiffy hip joint to the interior restaurant in its 3rd generation of operation with marvelous art on the walls that bought a lot of splendid food over the years. I would recommend this tour without reserve to any visitor. Excellent perspective on the neighborhood and the history. read more

Wow! We took both the Railyard tour and the sip and savor downtown tour with Lauren this past week. I book foodie tours in every city we visit, and they have all been great, but these tours surpassed all of them by a mile. Lauren is a chef, and knows the restaurants, owners, chefs, wait staff, etc., and they go above and beyond for her tour group's experience. The food is plentiful, but carefully crafted to hit all the tight notes in the Santa Fe food scene. Lauren complements the food perfectly with her knowledge, quick wit and enthusiasm. Finally, Lauren made fantastic recommendations for the remainder of our trip. Don't give it another thought--these tours are a great bargain for the experience. read more

This tour was nothing short of amazing! Lauren is a chef and it shows in her conversations and her recommendations. She knew everyone from the wait staff all the way to the chef/owner and they were all so welcoming! I left the tour stuffed, happy, and more informed about the history of Santa Fe! read more

Just got back from our sip and savor tour guided by Elizabeth. Wonderful time! Enjoyed hearing about the history of the area, people and buildings while also enjoying some delicious tastings. I especially enjoyed that the owners / chefs / managers of the stops we went to took the time to explain the history of their stores, what we were sampling and really took pride in their product. Compared to other food tours where the tour guide handles all of the introductions to what you are tasting, I thought this made what we were experiencing much more interesting and even personal. Well rounded tastes consisted of cheese, wine, beer, tacos, mezcal and moles. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Lauren and Wander New Mexico. My husband reached out to Wander New Mexico (Lauren) prior to our trip to Santa Fe, and Lauren helped him plan our week long, amazing trip. Lauren is everything from a tour guide, gastro guide, Santa Fe "Guru", culinary chef, your personal Santa Fe assistant, and by the end of the trip she will also be your best friend! Lauren planned everything for us, including all of our dinner reservations, chef tastings, a personal chef prepared tasting at our condo, a day at the mineral baths, a food and wine tour and so much more! She was always there to answer any questions we had and give us helpful advice and recommendations. Lauren knows everyone in town and has the most fun, bubbly personality. She truly loves what she does and it shows! I only wish there was a "Lauren" in every town we vacationed.... She will definitely spoil you! read more

Their booking process was so easy and our group was so excited to do this tour. Unfortunately, we had a last minute emergency that led to a cancellation. Lauren/Wander New Mexico were so compassionate and understanding. We absolutely plan on rebooking the trip and can't wait to go on one of their amazing food tours. Their hospitality has won us over and we know it will just be absolutely phenomenal when we actually get to experience it!!! Can't wait! read more

I joined two Wander New Mexico food tours -- the half-day downtown tour and the railyard district tour -- and I can't recommend them highly enough. Lauren was fun, energetic, extremely knowledgeable, organized, and very accommodating. The tour was well paced with generous servings of delicious food and drink at all stops. We were able to meet many of the chefs/owners personally, and they all went out of their way to make us feel welcome, telling their stories, and really rounding out the 'local' aspect of the experience. Do not hesitate to book with Wander New Mexico! read more

Lauren our guide was extremely knowledgeable & brought us to a diverse group of dining experiences, where you were able to get a sense of the Santa Fe dining experience, but also other international cuisines . The food was fantastic & the tour was topped off by a flight of champagne . Lauren went out of her way & purchased a slice of chocolate cheese cake for my wife's birthday . Two thumbs way up . Thanks Lauren read more

My sister booked a tour and tasting with Elizabeth for her 50th birthday girls' weekend. I am so glad to be a part of this wonderful experience. Elizabeth was knowledgable, friendly & made the whole tour exciting. She was also able to wrangle 10 giddy, silly ladies around Sante Fe. We enjoyed every food stop and learned so much about the history of Santa Fe. Highly recommend doing one of these tours and highly recommend Elizabeth as a tour guide! read more

We had such a good time on our tour! Getting to walk around downtown Santa Fe with our excellent guide Lauren and snack on delicious food was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. Highly recommended! read more

We booked a private tour for a group of 15 through Wander New Mexico. Elizabeth arranged a walking foodie tour on a Friday evening during the Wine and Chile Festival, which is no easy feat! Elizabeth was also our guide, and she gave us the perfect amount of history and fun facts on the way to our two spots. We enjoyed drinks and tamales at Tres Colores, but better yet were able to learn from the owners some interesting facts about their restaurant. Our second stop was a wine tasting with appetizers at Herve, which was lovely. Our group was made up of a subset of conference attendees who didn't know each other well, but by the end of the tour had bonded over good food, drinks and conversation. It was the perfect way to end two days of sitting in conference rooms! I would highly recommend booking a private tour as a unique way to bring a group together while visiting Santa Fe. read more

The tacos we experienced were phenomenal. And I'm from Mexico. In addition, Joe's enthusiasm for Santa Fe's culinary scene kept us very engaged throughout the tour. The other folks on the tour were young, lively and friendly! Great way to spend an afternoon. Strongly recommend. read more

This was an awesome way to learn about Santa Fe and New Mexico history, while experiencing the flavors and uniqueness of this fantastic city and state. Joe was extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job of communicating the facts to the group. Restaurant owners and chefs participated in sharing their vision for the food they prepared and the history of their cuisine and operations. Overall, this was a very fun and educational time with a nice size group! read more

My girlfriend and I went on the "Off the Beaten Path" tour. We LOVED it. We went to two restaurants and a distillery, and we even got to go back in the kitchen at Joseph's and hear the chef talk about the challenges of cooking for so many people as well as how to use sous vide. Even though it was cold out, Joe had hand warmers for everyone, and all the stops were close together. Joe and Alison were exceptional hosts, and they arranged for the restaurant/distillery owners and bartenders to lavish us with their attention, so we got a sneak peak at all the behind-the-scenes action at each establishment. The tour was a great balance of rich history and delicious food and, being an architecture buff myself, I particularly enjoyed learning about the Santa Fe architecture revival that's starting in the Railyard district. Five stars for this really fun tour, hands down. read more

The sip and savor tour was one of the best food and booze tasting tours. Joe is the owner and was our tour guide. We couldn't have had a better afternoon in Santa Fe. Thanks joe. The cheesemonger was skilled and the selection was amazing. Great street tacos. Awesome craft beer and 6 kinds of mole with a one on one with a local chef. And, we learned stuff . Joe went all out. So worth every penny. Oh, we also had wine. read more

Amazing day with Joe and fellow "Wander" buddies! We loved Joe's charming personality and knowledge about the rail yard district. Starting at La Choza we learned the difference between New Mexican pozole and Mexican version. We had excellent margaritas. After that a wine tasting event with Vivac wines. Fantastic wine! My favorite stop was Joseph's, an amazing restaurant. His offering was a gorgeous plate of ceviche and a perfect rose wine pairing. We loved his exciting presentation and kitchen tour. Our lovely walk brought a new awareness of the beautiful and historical area we see everyday.....now in a new and wonderful way thanks to Joe's knowledge of the buildings and history of the area. We made wonderful friends on the tour and look forward to other tours! read more
