Whether you are buying the $$$$ piece or some of the prints you could tell both women who we were able to meet over our stay at the Andaz (who worked there) just wanted you to feel comfortable and enjoy your viewing or purchase. This is just the start of our family collecting these pieces...but the "how" some of the larger/original pieces are made are so cool and unique to the island. VERY cool artwork and a must see if in wailea/Kiehi, Only bummer is we missed the interactive art offerings they have like paint sessions...next time!

It's worth coming to the Andaz hotel just to see the art here. Love this gallery and this artist.

I was still the highest bid when I met Julie at the in-person school fair in Makawao. I still took her card, just in case. I didn't win the bid, so we headed to her studio in Makawao and I got my favorite image and one of her baby hand painted canvases too. Love! My family got cards too. It was fun to see Julie in her studio actively working on new pieces. She's so talented! We just returned from Maui, so I will be searching for the perfect frame next. The little 3 x 3 inch piece is already perfectly at home, nested with other Hawaiian decor.

After a year of dreaming about some of the pieces I saw on my first trip here, I finally bought several works of art here, and even had them shipped to the mainland. And I look forward to the next time I have a chance to get to Maui and see what they've picked out here. So this is probably my favorite art gallery -- not just on Hawaii, but period.
