As with anything healing takes time but he actually pieced my tattoo back so that the scar separating it is barely noticable. How many surgeons really care about that. I see Dr. Stubbs for my shoulders that are both going to need surgery. I see Dr. Hobbes for my pain management. All the staff as well as the Dr.s are wonderful. The staff really makes a difference as always. Would not only recommend to anyone but would return if ever I need again. Thank you as always to them all.

However, it's not a straight line to surgery and getting there has been chaotic and confusing. This is SOP in Louisiana though which ranks 45th in healthcare for access and quality. I shouldn't be surprised about how challenging this has been but I was glass half full until proven differently. There have been a few positive moments in the run up to surgery, but I'd say 75% of the time it's been chaotic and just really unpleasant. I'll reserve specifics until the surgery is over, but I am definitely having some regrets, which does not feel good this close to the surgery date

First off, I was an active athlete most of my life which included most high school sports. I was also a semi-professional motorcycle racer and due to that, I probably had a few more broken bones and severe injuries than the average Joe. I'm certainly not creeping up on Evil Kinevil numbers but I have had well over half a dozen surgical orthopedic procedures. First off, Dr. Montgomery is a fantastic orthopedic surgeon of which I know many friends and relatives who have had knee, hip and shoulder surgeries. Nobody I know has ever questioned his ability as a surgeon and about being a dam good one at that. If he has a shortcoming, it would be that some say he doesn't have the best "bed side" empathy but personally I have never had an issue. One thing I will also applaud him for is that he isn't anxious to put patients under the knife and will try therapy, cortisone and time to heal with a conservative approach to medicine. If after a period it isn't healed or is worse and he is confident of the diagnosis then rest assured if you go into surgery he will get you fixed up. If he can't, most likely it will be difficult to find someone who can. His resume includes the Ragin Cajun athletic teams as well as most all of the local high schools which go to him for student injuries. I wouldn't hesitate to send my wife or kids there. I hope you never need an orthopedic doctor but if you do I highly recommend Dr. Montgomery.

This review is more directed towards Dr Drew's head nurse. I scheduled an appointment weeks ago,…read morewas never told that I was seeing a PA. I get there this morning and was told that I was scheduled with the PA so I asked if Dr Drew was available. The receptionist called in the nurse who came in with a diary of the number of times she called me down to the second and boy did she reiterate the fact that I didn't answer. From the word go, she starts playing the blame game. I was actually stunned at how she presented me with "receipts " of the 2 attempts she made to contact me. Prior to this appointment I spoke to that office twice and at no time was I told that I would be seeing a PA. It is just so insensitive to just come out swinging blaming a patient It is unfortunate because from the reviews it seems he is probably a good doctor. His staff, namely, his "head" nurse leaves much to be desired. I was disappointed with not being able to see him, but would have probably still saw the PA because I had been suffering for months, waiting for weeks for the appointment, took off work, and driven a considerable distance. But this nurse completely turned me off, just smug with nothing to offer but indifference and "receipts "......down to the second.
