Ordered flowers for my mom for her birthday and they delivered a completely different arrangement…read morethan I ordered. When I called to inquire they said its listed on their website and I should have known about the substitutions, but it is only in one spot on their website, it is not blatant, and it is cut off at the bottom of the screen so you have to scroll down to see it. When I said the bouquet looks much cheaper than the one I ordered and asked for a discount or something they refused and said the bouquet sent was much more expensive than the one I ordered. The lady on the phone was obviously annoyed with me and told me it was my responsibility to check on the delivery, but I called that morning to check on the delivery and they never mentioned the substitutions. I will not be using this business again.

Phillips Florist truly speaks a language of flowers. We were looking for something special for our…read morefathers memorial service, and they truly went above and beyond our expectations. Several arrangements were delivered from various local florists- but none compared to those ordered from Bubba at Phillips. A mix of flowers, from roses and tropical , forest greens too- all arranged beautifully and adding an element of artistry and elegance to a usually somber occasion. The flowers were definitely a poignant part of our memorial service.. Thank You Bubba & company!

This is your old school style local grocer. The building is a bit run down, however that's part of the experience. Their prices are fair and they offer a great amount of local food, mainly honey! I only stopped here on my trip because I was looking for places with dry ice for my cooler and these folks had it! I ended up buying some more road snacks because they were a heck of a lot cheaper than Kroger! I'd go here again because of the great customer service, classic style feel, and the local selection offered here. Ignore that 5 dollar signs too, whoever set up this yelp account didn't know what they were doing! Remember always buy local!

Meanwhile there was a western union form from another customer sitting on the counter right in front of me which included very detailed information about a client, full name, dob, I'd number, address, etc. After the 15 minute wait the lady finally turns around and says how can I help you. I tell her I am there to send a western union and she says "we stop that at 6" it's now 6:11pm. I ask her when do they close she says 7. She was extremely rude and unapologetic even though I had been standing there since before 6. I feel that if you are open, you should be open and provide all services. People making blank trips is frustrating enough and then met with this attitude is over the top. Also customer information should not be left on display!

Al Cook is literally in the middle of nowhere. And it's worth the drive…read more There are several smaller nurseries in the area, and the big-box home improvement stores carry plants, and Al Cook beats them all. It has a large layout with a large selection. I noted several prospective shrubberies and researched them, and all of them will do well in the Piney Woods area with its frequent rain and hot weather. Which tells me that Al Cook would not sell a plant if it wouldn't do well here, whether it's flowers, bushes, or trees. Prices are in line with other nurseries and a little higher than the big boxes, but Al Cook doesn't benefit from bulk wholesale like the big boxes do. The man who helped me out was indeed helpful, including helping put the many shrubberies I bought into my SUV, and quite chatty. He even gave me a tip about a new barbecue joint near Bevil Oaks, and mentioned Beaumont's most loved BBQ place (as a newer resident who loves his meat, this information comes in handy). Highly recommended!
